Just thinking about it makes me go into "Bart Simpson and the clown bed" mode.

In my college in the exam they would put bits and pieces of different pathways all in one big pathway, erase the names and the enzymes except for 3-4. Then once you had figured out all the missing gaps the questions started. They where something like "in which of the following steps do we loose 2 carbon atoms?" Hell.

DUDE, I came in here to say exactly this! I finished all my biochem classes including labs during last spring quarter and it was HELL!! But now that it's over I have MCAT studying to keep me company. Oh the joys of being a pre-med

My bchem class started with the teacher saying not to worry because the majority of things we'll be taught can later be referenced in books or online anyway.

I did this integrated science and business degree so between high level finance and hard science, orgo was definitely my favorite. Accounting was probably the most mindless irritation I've ever experienced.

I fucking loved ochem. I put it off for as long as possible because I despised gen chem with a fiery passion. When I finally took it and biochem, I realized I loved them both... too late in my educational career to change my major. Woe is me and my terrible life, right?

I struggled throughout gen chem, but Ochem and Biochem were a breeze. I think with me it had a bit to do with the math, or lack thereof in Ochem and Biochem, as well as them not being freshmen weeder courses.

So long as you keep up with the work load, O-Chem isn't too bad. It's a lot of memorization, but no individual piece of it is too difficult to understand. You'll do great!

Successful chem major here, not too much memorization here, I understood concepts and was able to apply them to mechanisms. Had I memorized everything I would have forgotten everything by now but i can still recall almost all the mechanisms just by refiguring them out over again.
