I read something amusing about people moving to NZ yesterday, actually, about how we swear ALL THE TIME, but for immigrants to not be alarmed or take offence if we call them an extra profane name because it's meant to be a compliment.

I guess it must be quite disconcerting for foreigners hear us refer to them as a 'Good Cunt' by way of an introduction.

i did a report on this! it's called fibrodysplasia ossificans provgressiva (fop). any injury to the body and it grows back as bone. lots of times the patients will go in to have a biopsy which ends up being couter productive, as the wound turns to bone. it's a genetic disorder.. it has been described as being "trapped inside a second skeleton," SCARY

What people from other countries don't realize is that this comment is not aimed at making fun of the gay rights movement with harsh stereotypes, it's more aimed at making fun of our governments slow progress on a bill that should have passed ages ago. We treat ourselves as this big forward thinking place where we are more accepting and open then other countries but we always show our true colour when things like this show up.

The NRA would likely support a bill that removed suppressors and destructive devices from the NFA if the bill included legalizing gay marriage. While they do sometimes appear to push the conservative agenda on a whole, anything pro-gun, the NRA won't really care much what else is in the bill.

The NRA lets Pink Pistols (A pro gay, pro gun) organization use it's facilities because the NRA doesn't actually take a side on gay marriage.

Of course. The NRA is no angel and I'm not a massive fan, but they do a lot more good than people give them credit for. Frankly, the NRA has probably saved more gun deaths through there safety programs and classes than the Brady Campaign. Weird to think about actually. Mind you, that is 100% speculation on my part.

No, you are definitely correct. I honestly think if the Brady Campaign focused more on having people be safe with guns and teaching firearms safety classes they'd be more socially accepted.

But instead they make up terms and call everything an assault clip with an assault weapon with baby killing boolits and make themselves look like fools.

There are bugger all accidental firearm deaths compared to homicide and suicide, there's not nearly as much room for improvement as, for example, making criminal record checks compulsary when buying from a licensed dealer to prevent felons from buying guns.
