Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

[–]Mommyhas4boys 901 points902 points ago

But my GPS said....

[–]pmcninch 375 points376 points ago

In two hundred feet, turn left.

[–]superferd 416 points417 points ago

In two hundred feet. turn left now!

[–]ForgottenPhoenix 535 points536 points ago

Left motherfucker. Did you turn it?

[–]VoltronMacrophage 374 points375 points ago

Holy shit I really need Samuel L. Jackson to be the voice of my GPS.

[–]HanAlai 84 points85 points ago

Morgan Freeman for when you want a relaxing trip.

[–]decoyq 58 points59 points ago

and then on long stretches he'd just tell you an old story from when he was a young boy...

[–]Morganfreeman_says 32 points33 points ago

When I was a young boy, My voice sounded exactly as it does now.

[–]TheVileSmile 3 points4 points ago

Read that in his voice and lost my shit.

[–]UnholyDemigod 24 points25 points ago

Sam Jack for cop chases.

"I've had it with these muthafucken pigs on this muthafucken chase! Now strap yourselves in. We're about to open some fucken throttle"

[–]funfungiguy 136 points137 points ago

We really need to make this happen. If my brother can get Yoda to give him directions on his Tom Tom, anything's possible. Also don't take driving directions from Yoda.

[–]kittyg92 162 points163 points ago

Darth Vader gives me my directions. Sometimes when you're driving for a long time on the same road, he just starts breathing. It's the creepiest fucking thing ever when you're driving somewhere at night by yourself and he starts that shit.

[–]i_am_an_engineer 59 points60 points ago

I have Jeremy Clarkson, my favourite random saying generally mentions a roundabout or so in 200 meters and then quips "Assuming your car can make it that far"

Brilliant.

[–]agyrophobia 23 points24 points ago

My parents have John Cleese, and I have a dalek. Fuck those default voices!

[–]kittyg92 16 points17 points ago

........ I would very much like this. Jeremy Clarkson being snarky while giving me directions would be amazing. Actually, any member of Top Gear would be awesome. Although, now that I think about it... maybe not the Stig.

[–]i_am_an_engineer 32 points33 points ago

There is a Stig option... but it's just silence

[–]SorinSaakat 183 points184 points ago

"Turn left, you must..."

"OK, Left!"

"...in two miles."

"Damn."

[–]zjb55446 16 points17 points ago

This is the only reason I like my small town...

[–]EndymionAwake 11 points12 points ago

"Take the next left in 4 miles."

The joys of country living ;p

[–]Guppywily 18 points19 points ago

That would be so obnoxious.

You'd be better off just following road signs.

[–]Propa_Tingz 23 points24 points ago

Woah! When did those start popping up? Fancy.

Bad news for GPS companies.

[–]bbeatz1 25 points26 points ago

Road signs?

[–]flashbackhumour 112 points113 points ago

[–]S013 24 points25 points ago

[–]Propa_Tingz 9 points10 points ago

I thought that was completely relevant to a girl unzipping flesh off her face, didn't you, google?

[–]squeaker5555 46 points47 points ago

Recalculating, recalculating. Nothing ever made me feel more dumb then 'British Dan' the GPS say, 'recalculating'

[–]HarryLeggs 76 points77 points ago

Every GPS voice says recalculating in such a condescending voice...

[–]rahr12341 56 points57 points ago

My father has a GPS that is intended to sound like a seductive women. Recalculating sounds like you just ruined her orgasm...

[–]stevenpetryk 35 points36 points ago

How many seductive women?

[–]itaremeelar 25 points26 points ago

A single seductive women, as it were. A single women.

[–]stevenpetryk 33 points34 points ago

Multiple would be hilarious. It'd be like a GPS brothel.

[–]WalkerGeek 14 points15 points ago

Recalculating doesn't even seem like a real word anymore

[–]HarryLeggs 13 points14 points ago

Really, they may as well change it to "fuck you."

[–]lordlicorice 49 points50 points ago

My GPS has a British woman voice, and she does this ridiculous trill on the R of the Recalculating. Rrrecaculating

I know exactly when she's going to say it, and it's so fun to blast the trill as loud as I can at the same moment: RRrrrrrrecalucating!

I don't often have passengers.

[–]MamaAuLait 2 points3 points ago

See, I like snarky Daniel on my SatNav. I purposefully chose him because of what an asshole he is.

[–]beta_ray_charles 23 points24 points ago

Michael that's the lake! There's no road there!

[–]panamaspace 33 points34 points ago

In two hundred feet, turn down.

[–]tg2387 20 points21 points ago

"Turn right in...six feet"

  • Drake and Josh

Where's the guard rail?

[–]The_Painted_Man 476 points477 points ago

off duty.

[–]HipsterSC 52 points53 points ago

Guard Rail

laughs

[–]Dobott 3 points4 points ago

I don't understand what's funny. Is it just because the joke he made because it has guard in the name? Or was there some misconception that made this joke possible or..

[–]Mouseandrew 2 points3 points ago

Guardrail as opposed to Guard Rail

[–]Dobott 3 points4 points ago

[–]Mouseandrew 4 points5 points ago

Guard rail or guardrail...

Both are technically correct. HipsterSC used "Guard Rail, laughs" since that seems to imply that the rail was literally a guard that was off duty.

Something like that anyway.

[–]djlewt 110 points111 points ago

guard what?

Someone's never been to the south..

[–]TheLolmighty 40 points41 points ago

guard rell*

[–]hlharper 32 points33 points ago

In the winter (aka the dry season) these are all ditches, but they fill up with water during the summer. We have these all over the place, along with retention ponds next to roads. This is why I have a ResQMe on my keychain just in case.

[–]50_shades_of_rape 700 points701 points ago

[–]HipsterSC 84 points85 points ago

ZING

[–]miamihappy 26 points27 points ago

And our politicians deny it.

[–]ottolite 8 points9 points ago

This is probably not to far from where I live in West Palm Beach. The flooding here is horrible. If you go out west from West Palm there are still miles of dirt roads that border right up to canals with NO guard rail. I've driven on some of them when it's sunny out and let me tell you, it is scary as hell. I can only imagine what it is like when there is rain like we had yesterday.

[–]td_cbcs 1364 points1365 points ago

"It sucks to be an idiot." The 2nd car

[–]FockerCRNA 1114 points1115 points ago

I'm wondering if it isn't a flatbed truck with a car loaded on it

[–]thatguyfromflint 135 points136 points ago

That's what i was thinking from the lights on the top of the cab. Hopefully the person driving made it out safe. Sounds like a story for tifu.

[–]deadcats 62 points63 points ago

Hopefully the person driving made it out safe.

There looks to be a very wet man over to the left near the tree. It appears he's coming from the wreck, too.

[–]Flameblow 78 points79 points ago

[–]Ntheday 58 points59 points ago

It's Bigfoot. Look at the knee bend.

[–]Cobruh 3 points4 points ago

[–]Nichtmara 24 points25 points ago

[–]TheShader 34 points35 points ago

"Man, my car got stuck in the floods. Luckily I got the tow service to come and get it safely to my house. I sure did get lucky!"

[–]lovehatepeace_pot 28 points29 points ago

The end of the bed would stick out if the rear wheels are that far back, no?

[–]dja0794 23 points24 points ago

not if the car was loaded near the edge of the truck. It may have also just been towing it.

[–]Lunchable_ 12 points13 points ago

Second look - yup, confirming you are correct

[–]Womec 35 points36 points ago

At Florida Tech when a hurricane came we got drunk and went around town pushing cars out of the deep parts of the street, this would have been a challenge however.

You always wonder why there are so many jeeps with snorkels in florida, until a hurricane comes.

[–]o0DrWurm0o 133 points134 points ago

In GTA IV, I used to cause chain reactions of destruction at gas stations. I would crash my car into the gas station until the car caught on fire. My car would explode (after I retreated to a safe distance) and cause nearby cars and gas pumps to also catch on fire and explode. Apparently once a car explodes, the other NPCs consider it gone because they would drive up and plow through flaming wreckage of other cars to get to the flaming wreckage of a gas pump. Of course, the flaming wreckage at the pump would cause their car to catch on fire and explode too. This cycle would repeat itself almost indefinitely with me struggling to contain my evil laughter.

[–]thegriefer 47 points48 points ago

Same but I never contained the laughter.

[–]I_am_ME_ama 4 points5 points ago

I enjoyed flying a copter to a roof and sniping people and then wait for others to run for help and down them too.

[–]tllnbks 85 points86 points ago

My question is...do they not live there? I kinda know where the roads are and aren't where I live.

[–]a_park_bench 60 points61 points ago

You'd be amazed at Florida drivers. I've seen way too many make left turns on red across 3 lanes of traffic, and I've only lived here for ~5 months.

[–]platipress 22 points23 points ago

There seems to be an unwritten traffic rule in Miami that once the left turn light goes red, three more cars are allowed to go through.

[–]waterboysh 15 points16 points ago

Pensacola?

[–]arachnophilia 29 points30 points ago

sounds more like miami.

[–]drewmack 46 points47 points ago

You guys just made a Pitbull song!

[–]Beeyull 7 points8 points ago

Orlando is just as insane. Imagine all the tourists flying across 4 lanes to get to their Sea World exit.

[–]arachnophilia 10 points11 points ago

imagine people missing their exit and going into reverse. that's miami.

[–]OrangeVapor 6 points7 points ago

I'm not sure a day goes by driving in Miami where I don't see this happen.

[–]chickie-me 8 points9 points ago

yeah, I was wondering the same thing! Being from there it wouldn't shock me...some folks in the panhandle aren't too bright.

[–]waterboysh 15 points16 points ago

Yeah, when I moved to Pensacola I was amazed at the number of people that can't drive, run red lights, don't use turn signals, and generally drive like they are the only ones on the road.

[–]unixguitarguy 17 points18 points ago

It's because a lot of them are so old they have lost the will to live, and just want a quick easy way to die.

[–]LaceyGucci 3 points4 points ago

Believe it or not, Pensacola drivers are an upgrade from South Florida. I live in Pensacola but drove down to Miami to visit family... holy crap. I was scared for my life.

[–]justforfunds 3 points4 points ago

I've lived all over North America. Miami drivers are by far the worst. The only thing that comes close is Quebec. Quebec might be actually more dangerous due to snow but it's a really close call.

[–]noscoe 37 points38 points ago

you would think if it's raining hard enough for that to happen, maybe they aren't too oriented to their surroundings. Plus, it looks like a flatbed with a car on it... probably not from there

[–]keveready 15 points16 points ago

Ok so the tow truck driver drives your car through a canal. Fuck that you owe me a new car.

[–]willscy 11 points12 points ago

covered by his insurance no doubt.

[–]LoveKebab 203 points204 points ago

"I ain't never seen this road befur. Let's see if it's a shortcut"

[–]Damaband41 68 points69 points ago

People everywhere else have a horrible idea of what Floridians are like.

[–]LoveKebab 44 points45 points ago

To be fair, everyone I see with a Florida tag has been a horrible driver

[–]LaceyGucci 41 points42 points ago

Hey! I resemble that remark!

[–]Kirjath 5 points6 points ago

[–]sivlin 15 points16 points ago

Please. Floridians are not part of the South.

[–]arachnophilia 7 points8 points ago

it's a tow truck, so it might be unfamiliar territory.

i'd say that's what GPS is for, but my GPS once directed me to take a canal.

[–]koviko 80 points81 points ago

"OMG, I'LL SAVE YOU!" The 2nd car

[–]drewitt 33 points34 points ago

Not in Florida

[–]thegriefer 61 points62 points ago

"What a jackass, I'm going to shove him further FUCK!"

[–]VargasTheGreat 26 points27 points ago

As a Floridian, this is an accurate response.

[–]JpSax 19 points20 points ago

"holy shit, I need to get a better look at this dumbass" -every driver in Florida passing an accident

[–]sad_cat 8 points9 points ago

"OMG, FUCK YOU!" The 2nd car.

[–]ItsEconomicsBro 39 points40 points ago

Hard to blame guy no. 1.

[–]swskeptic 24 points25 points ago

Now everyone in the house say guy number 2!

[–]thane_of_cawdor 5 points6 points ago

party over heeeere!

[–]thescrapplekid 9 points10 points ago

I think its a tow truck

[–]o0evillusion0o 8 points9 points ago

What second car? I see only one car halfway in the water and a big square robot head waiting there to swallow it.

[–]thrush77 140 points141 points ago

"Make a U-turn when possible"

[–]Wazowski 122 points123 points ago

"Recalculating."

[–]rcon1021 90 points91 points ago

"Recalcu-BLUBBRBLUBBLUBBUB"

[–]NightOwl58 26 points27 points ago

That sign clearly says "No Parking," yet these assholes...

[–]Ubermenschen 101 points102 points ago

This is not as hard as it sounds.

If you look at the picture, the road and canal look almost identical. Add in some rain, some overcast skies, and when the water level rises, it can be very easy to drive yourself right into a ditch if you're not familiar with the area. Even if you are familiar with the area, your usual 3rd right suddenly doesn't look familiar at all, and then you realize you're looking down some dude's backyard instead of your driveway.

[–]kaypricot 54 points55 points ago

That's why they tell you not to drive into flooded areas everytime there is a flash flood watch here, you never know the depth. "Don't drown, turn around."

[–]loveshercoffee 21 points22 points ago

This is it exactly. And it's not just that you might drive into a canal or a ditch, there is danger in any place where the road dips down. People seem to forget that water is level on the surface no matter what's under it and a couple of inches of water can quickly become a couple of feet.

[–]springbreaksal 2 points3 points ago

i completely agree with you.. however the first car going under shouldve been a big indicator..

[–][deleted] 137 points138 points ago

Looks like Spongebob failed his driving test...again.

[–]Letmefeelyourbraces 88 points89 points ago

Mrs. Puff is gonna be PISSED

[–]devtape 67 points68 points ago

Oh Spongebob, whyyyyyyy?

[–]baby-cakes 28 points29 points ago

EXPAND

[–]Fuckedfromabove 146 points147 points ago

Did they die? Or is this funny....

[–]Pykoh 230 points231 points ago

Why not both?

[–]EPIC_RAPTOR 62 points63 points ago

Yayyyy!

[–]Will_Power 14 points15 points ago

Look again. The top of the cab of the truck is out of the water. The driver only died if he went look for the beer on the floor of the truck.

[–]grundleburn 8 points9 points ago

last i saw there were 13 dead in my county alone.

[–]Unicornasaurus 76 points77 points ago

That first car/truck looks like a tow truck almost.

[–]mspigy 41 points42 points ago

Good point. It may have been towing that car rather than oops x2. No brake lights lit on the car.

[–]IGottaSnake 15 points16 points ago

So, I bet that was a fun call to make...

"Yeah, Mr. Johnson? I know we towed the car because the starter went out, but it's going to need a bit more than that starter now..."

[–]vulpes_occulta 28 points29 points ago

Where is this?

[–]CreedoNauxus[S] 50 points51 points ago

Port St. Lucie

[–]smellslikegelfling 34 points35 points ago

I live near you. Now all I need to do is enhance the photo so I can see your reflection and I can triangulate your position. Was this taken somewhere in the vicinity of Bayshore?

[–]CreedoNauxus[S] 21 points22 points ago

I would put your location in my GPS but after this, I now don't trust them

[–]Smashure 2 points3 points ago

I live near you both, got stranded for a few hours at airoso and prima vista. That shit had me panicked quite a bit!

[–]ThisIsYourPenis 11 points12 points ago

Low and flat there, how much total rain did you get?

[–]CreedoNauxus[S] 26 points27 points ago

[–]Perpetuum 96 points97 points ago

Cousin's boat*

[–]ThisIsYourPenis 7 points8 points ago

There was a link from someone in Wellington, they said 20" and that was yesterday.

[–]ohpleaseno 8 points9 points ago

Official in Wellington was 14+". I tend to believe the + to be closer to 20.

The Acreage/Loxahatchee is a disaster.

[–]DazeNrue 3 points4 points ago

Im Psl too but I dont recognize where that is. Freakin hilarious though.

[–]glisp42 498 points499 points ago

"Hey, there might be someone drowning about 20 feet away from me. I think I'll take a picture instead of actually doing something!"

[–]tobsn 823 points824 points ago

listen, that's more like 30 feet. and it's raining. and obviously it's dangerous outside. and they are probably already dead. and if they did not want to drown, their bodies will naturally reject the water anyway.

[–]OhGarraty 458 points459 points ago

If it's a legitimate drowning, the human body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

[–]Forgetheriver 37 points38 points ago

"Drowning is Drowning, and the idea that we should be parsing and qualifying and slicing what types of drowning we are talking about doesn’t make sense to the American people and certainly doesn’t make sense to me."

[–]amanda-violet 155 points156 points ago

So... death?

[–]Warties 59 points60 points ago

bingo

[–]Rlight 43 points44 points ago

Plus like.. he could get wet.

[–]tobsn 22 points23 points ago

and who knows whats in the water... it's florida, man! anything goes there! from gator over jaws to kraken.

fuck i ain't getting in there.

[–]lordlicorice 3 points4 points ago

[–]Vindexus 9 points10 points ago

It's that kind of attitude that got your shift key killed.

[–]barnesandnobles 60 points61 points ago

Hello, Representative Akin

[–]tobsn 22 points23 points ago

*honkhonk

[–]666SATANLANE 7 points8 points ago

[–]HanAlai 5 points6 points ago

I'm rather enjoying these now.

[–]tobsn 6 points7 points ago

we'll see where it goes. as of right now i enjoy this new type of science. our politicians are just amazing. either you get your new jokes from a sitcom, a comedian or from someone in the government. it's a pretty unique situation in the US, it's too sureal to be made up.

[–]HanAlai 4 points5 points ago

Agreed, I don't think anyone could have made that up. It just sounds so incredibly idiotic when you really think about it.

[–]BLAZINnCRAZIN 20 points21 points ago

As I perused the comments, I was getting worried no one mentioned that these people might be DEAD!

[–]elfwithoutears 6 points7 points ago

It sort of looks like the top of a pick-up truck, the cab part - instead of a car's tail lights. Which means he/she may not be not drowning, just yet. But, I dunno!

[–]Akseba 6 points7 points ago

OR they checked for people in danger and called the appropriate people THEN took pictures.

[–]greenwithenergy 16 points17 points ago

I really do wish OP would provide an explanation for this. Were the people out of the car already? If not, OP is a serious piece of shit. Given the fact the brake lights are on, I would assume someone was inside and under water and my first reaction would not be to take a picture.

[–]spitfyre 20 points21 points ago

I live in Florida, my aunt posted this picture on Facebook last night, said she got it from a meteorologist in Port St. Lucie. Chances of OP being the actual photographer are 0 to nil.

[–]DotGaming 7 points8 points ago

He can do fuck all after calling 911, calling th op a piece of shit for not risking their life is a seriously unrealistic and probably hypocritical attitude.

[–]cillyfox 7 points8 points ago

I don't understand why taking a picture that only takes seconds would deter your ability to help / do something about the situation.

[–]I0I0I0I 11 points12 points ago

All I can think of is the canal near the Little Haiti section of Vice City.

[–]Perpetuum 9 points10 points ago

Gators, gators - Gators everywhere.

[–]0ptimus_Trajan 78 points79 points ago

Am I the only one wondering if these guys are okay?

[–]JFSOCC 43 points44 points ago

nope

[–]Telid 14 points15 points ago

I'm working under the assumption that since the person had enough time to stop and take a photo, then either the driver is long-since safe or has long-since passed the need for help.

[–]Quadratus 24 points25 points ago

I think that the 1st car is actually a tow truck, and the 2nd is on the bed of it... Hope they are okay...

[–]lhmatt 43 points44 points ago

For anyone making fun of these people, do you really think this is a mistake you would know to avoid? I fully admit I could do something this stupid, especially when driving in a stressful situation like that.

[–]Bonez916 9 points10 points ago

Cue Picard: WHY THE FUCK>>>ARE YOU DRIVING IN A FLOOD

[–]loveyourlies 58 points59 points ago

It's creepy how people are trying to make jokes about this, I find this one of the scariest things possible. Someone could've died.

[–]Telid 47 points48 points ago
