[–]woo_hah 110 points111 points ago

All people.

FTFY

[–]champer 38 points39 points ago

Every of the people.

[–]BeBenNova 5 points6 points ago

upvote for Kevin reference

[–]Todomanna 2 points3 points ago

But... they have such solid fundamentals...

[–]Irishmidget6 37 points38 points ago

There's a WNBA?

[–]GrinningPariah 11 points12 points ago

What's the W stand for?

[–]starwarscreature 19 points20 points ago

Wieners...I think.

[–]Khosan 6 points7 points ago

Women's

[–]argyle-socks 30 points31 points ago

[–]GrinningPariah 11 points12 points ago

Why do Women get their own special basketball league!

[–]FullMoon1108 2 points3 points ago

Because they think they dont have enough rights

[–]Baschi 6 points7 points ago

Watch out, SRS might have a bitch fit.

[–]GrinningPariah 0 points1 point ago

Man I'm like five kinds of banned from there.

[–]Baschi 0 points1 point ago

Badge of honour my friend, badge of honour.

[–]Ziplock189 4 points5 points ago

Imagine if the NBA was literally the MNBA. Women would be so mad

[–]FullMoon1108 1 point2 points ago

Lets do it

[–]njensen 0 points1 point ago

*nuts

[–]GrinningPariah 0 points1 point ago

What sexists!

[–]jackayjerkface 0 points1 point ago

Why don't we just throw some women into the NBA; I see no issue.

[–]GrinningPariah 1 point2 points ago

Finally someone agrees!

[–]TheOCdisorder 14 points15 points ago

Look, people downvoting Khosan, you need to consider something. Sometimes on the internet, a person asks a question that they know the answer to, and are just feigning ignorance as some kind of joke. I'm not sure I really get it, but it happens.

However, sometimes people actually do want to know the answer to the question. Worrying about the person being a troll or not is pointless. They don't "get you" just because you answer the question, and people who are looking for the answer might come across it and have it be helpful for them.

The proper response to such a question is either not to answer, or to give the straight answer. By acting as if Khosan is an idiot who got trolled, you're promoting this silly behavior, and the idea that people who are ignorant of some things shouldn't ask questions, because they will be assumed to be trolls.

Thanks for reading, rant over.

[–]GrinningPariah 0 points1 point ago

Oh btw I was feigning ignorance, not as a joke in and of itself, but as a setup for the subsequent "why do women get their own basketball league! That's sexist!" joke.

Khosan was the only one who took the bait properly. Everyone else is like the people who yell "go away!" after you say "knock knock".

[–]HowsItBeenBen 0 points1 point ago

Weakest

[–]svullenballe 6 points7 points ago

Or sports in general.

Edit: I guess I'm not allowed to dislike sports. Sorry. Yay, team!

[–]SpaceOdysseus 16 points17 points ago

My brother! I've finally found you.

Funnyjunk does not link correctly. It only goes to the main page.

[–]twoclose 64 points65 points ago

Dwight Shrute said it best:

What's the argument here? NBA, WNBA. One is a sport, one is a joke. I love sports, I love jokes. Room for all.

[–]marbarkar 9 points10 points ago

TIL the WNBA still exists.

[–]scruffy01 21 points22 points ago

I think I would have to be aware of their existence before them winning would have any actual effect on my life.

[–]dooglehead 146 points147 points ago

To be fair, I'd rather find $5 than have any of my local sports teams win anything.

[–]slipperyfist 25 points26 points ago

Well if an actually important team wins it could be a boost to the local economy, which would indirectly benefit you. More people would travel to see games which brings money to the area. Of course, it would have to he something people care about, not the WNBA.

[–]wegotpancakes 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, if popular local teams won such a thing it would suggest that we were having a good night for business which would inevitably lead to me making way more than 5 bucks. But then again, no one watches the WNBA so this doesn't work.

[–]liveryowl 9 points10 points ago

don't know why you got downvoted, but I agree. If they win good for them and ill be happy. If I find $5, " I" have $5, Im happy for me.

[–]marbarkar 9 points10 points ago

I'd settle for a quarter.

[–]overtoke 2 points3 points ago

me too. a quarter is worth way more than $5.

[–]fish_tacoz 0 points1 point ago

are we talking pounds our ounces?

[–]wegotpancakes 2 points3 points ago

People call quarter pounds quarters?

[–]overtoke 1 point2 points ago

we are talking about WEED, bro

[–]QuasarsRcool -2 points-1 points ago

Even 5 cents for me. But if it were a penny I'd take the sports team win simply because pennies are useless to keep around.

[–]prince_of_tacoma 2 points3 points ago

Unless you have a bunch of pennies, then you can go to a Coinstar and get an Amazon gift-card. (If you redeem your change in gift-card manner, they don't take anything off.)

[–]dontuknow_sosickofu 0 points1 point ago

Too much hassle. I don't want anything.

[–]Griff_Steeltower 2 points3 points ago

At the very least if a local professional team (NFL/NHL/NBA/MLB) won a championship, bars would be cheaper drinks for weeks, far exceeding $5 in value.

[–]CaptainDickPuncher 4 points5 points ago

Or bar owners would jack up drink prices knowing that people will go to the bar anyways.../conspiracy

[–]seaweed_shark 0 points1 point ago

This happens?! I need to stop living in cities with shitty sports teams.

[–]Griff_Steeltower 1 point2 points ago

Dollar shots every time the Phillies score a run at a local joint. When they won the world series they brought in strippers (well dancers) and bar snacks.

[–]endercoaster -1 points0 points ago

If you know your local sports team is going to win something, you can gamble and make more than $5. I've come across few "would you rather"s that aren't dependent on more information.

[–]ipoopedinmyshorts 0 points1 point ago

Me too because i hate the local teams. Hear that Bay Area, DOWN WITH THE GIANTS AND NINERS. I hope you fail miserably again this year

[–]bstampl1 -1 points0 points ago

I'd rather have my team win, because it gives me an easy conversation topic to discuss with acquaintances

[–]textual_predditor 1 point2 points ago

I'd rather PAY $5 than have to watch WNBA.

[–]PoopyMcfartface 1 point2 points ago

I'm pretty sure anyone who would rather have 5$ than have their local sports team win, was never really a sports fan to begin with. With that said, I'm not surprised that quite a few people here would rather have 5$; I'm assuming a large portion of Reddit is poor, nerdy, young people. I say that because I have a lot of family that love sports, and there's no f'ing way they'd take that 5$.

[–]RobertPaulsen 0 points1 point ago

I am not poor nor young but I would take the $5

I will not deny being nerdy.

[–]PoopyMcfartface 1 point2 points ago

Those were just generalizations about Redditors, that would lead me to believe the vast majority aren't big sports fans.

edit: Also, the poor generalization was speaking mostly towards redditors being young people, often college students, that desperately need every dollar they can get.

[–]Wyvernz 0 points1 point ago

Or they just don't identify strongly with their local team.

[–]sirfuchs 20 points21 points ago

Coming from Minnesota, we don't usually sports championships. Until last year when our WNBA team the Lynx won the championship. I am the 16%

[–]ShortWhiteFriend 10 points11 points ago

As a Minnesotan, I can assert that this is how most of us respond to having the most dominant team the WNBA has ever seen play for our state.

[–]westsidemonster 3 points4 points ago

You mean, the most dominant team Minnesota has ever had. No other team from Minnesota has so completely owned a league like that.

[–]gigashadowwolf 8 points9 points ago

I keep seeing these now. What app is it?

[–]beastwood929 1 point2 points ago

You Rather.

[–]gigashadowwolf 0 points1 point ago

Ty

[–]Comrade_Falcon 22 points23 points ago

Minnesota Lynx, fuck yeah!

[–]Thorin07 18 points19 points ago

[–]Jewfag_Cuntpuncher -2 points-1 points ago

Did we win?

[–]StateFairShare 5 points6 points ago

Let's be honest - they could have made it a coupon for a $1 off a gallon of Ice Cream and it still would have won.

[–]m0ngrel 9 points10 points ago

Read the title as "Local glory hole". Was very confused by what happy meals might have to do with anonymous oral sex.

[–]Tophatsandmonocles 2 points3 points ago

Same I kept going back and making sure I was on the right link as well as reading the title over and over again.

[–]Zodiarkan 0 points1 point ago

Thank God, I thought it was just me.

[–]wtfapkin 1 point2 points ago

It doesn't say glory hole?

Oh...I was very confused for a minute there.

[–]P00F00 4 points5 points ago

you can get a lot more by betting that your team will win.

[–]TheCobaltEffect 3 points4 points ago

I doubt many would put money on the WNBA.

Just sayin'

[–]78946512354678897546 2 points3 points ago

I don't even know what a "WNBA" is.

[–]giraffricanamerican 1 point2 points ago

You know how nobody wants to watch women's basketball? It's that at a professional level.

[–]78946512354678897546 0 points1 point ago

I don't watch sports at all. Except the ocational skijump. So to me, womens basketball, men's golf, transsexuals rugby, same thing.

[–]rustang2 2 points3 points ago

All this proves is that 16% of the voters are feminists.

[–]ghuldorgrey 2 points3 points ago

ohmaaan.. all those things i could do with 5$.

[–]Lonestardangerwolf 1 point2 points ago

Let's go Houston Comets! oh... shit...

[–]whiteyzacks 2 points3 points ago

[–]Anaract 2 points3 points ago

I read this as "who needs a glory hole when you have a Happy Meal?"

I was nervous to clink the link

[–]sn34kypete 4 points5 points ago

Five dollars is worth a lot more to me than bragging rights about any sports team of my city's. I have never been enriched or had my life improved as a result of a sports team's success or failure. And this is coming from somebody from Los Angeles

[–]speedracer13 0 points1 point ago

If you lived in a college town, you would feel far different about this. Every weekend is a party centered around a football team, from 8AM on Saturday until class starts on Monday. Then in the spring, 3 days of tailgating and baseball for an SEC series with 8,000 other fans and students packing the stadium just makes for a great weekend.

[–]Wyvernz 0 points1 point ago

I live in Norman Oklahoma and attend OU and would still take the $5 over our football team winning a game. Some people just don't care which group of people they don't know is better at some random game.

[–]speedracer13 0 points1 point ago

Then go make friends with the football players on campus and see if it makes a difference.

[–]FenrirIII 1 point2 points ago

No one likes the WNBA. They need a lingerie league like football.

[–]slipperyfist 4 points5 points ago

Lingerie basketball would be even better since they wouldn't need to wear shoulder pads and they'd be jumping all the time. Brilliant idea.

[–]BrianBoyko 2 points3 points ago

Lingerie Curling!

[–]ruin 1 point2 points ago

How on earth did Curling get its name? Was 'Stupid Rock Push' already taken?

[–]Ihatethisplace_ 1 point2 points ago

That's pretty degrading. Even for me and i'm a man, I never care about that shit. Seriously I can take someone not caring about your sport because it's not the pinnacle, but "live your dream in lingerie and i'll care enough for you to scrape a living from it". Fuck off man

[–]safaridiscoclub 7 points8 points ago

Degrading? Yes.

Supply and demand? Yes.

[–]ryanadoylable 0 points1 point ago

app name?

[–]NAKED_SPACEMAN 0 points1 point ago

Yourather, I believe.

[–]sh2248 0 points1 point ago

Some people have terrible local teams that no one cares about

[–]NastyCrustySock 1 point2 points ago

These people obviously aren't from MN...

[–]darkmood 0 points1 point ago

Not glory - wglory.

[–]wolfmann 0 points1 point ago

that's almost 2 happy meals where I live.

[–]ding-d1ng-ding -1 points0 points ago

-Bet $500 on local WNBA and push the red button. -Profit.

[–]dirtyjoo 0 points1 point ago

Depressed Atlanta sports fan here...I'd rejoice at any form of a professional sports championship

[–]Cappy95 0 points1 point ago

Now I realize the importance of a title :/

[–]HireALLTheThings 0 points1 point ago

...How many people ACTUALLY have a WNBA team in their town?

[–]arnichol 1 point2 points ago

Can someone tell me the name of this app?? I need to participate.

[–]Amadorus 0 points1 point ago

If it was just 1$, my decision would still be firm.

[–]Wyvernz 0 points1 point ago

Me too, that'd be my cutoff though because carrying around change is more of a bother than it's worth, so they can have their win.

[–]mugglicious 0 points1 point ago

Make it $6 and we've got a deal. Those happy meals aren't tax free you know.

[–]Zikro 0 points1 point ago

Or a Big Box Meal from Taco Bell!!

[–]_Apple_ 0 points1 point ago

if you think WNBA gives glory....

[–]HOQX 1 point2 points ago

I read local glory hole... I think I have a problem.

[–]almightysumner 0 points1 point ago

women's sports...hehehehe best joke of all time

[–]FistyMcCheese 0 points1 point ago

Yeah but you could bet on them winning and then rake in the cash. Maybe.

[–]darkstartsteps 1 point2 points ago

hey guys, what app is this?

[–]PeyoteMonger 0 points1 point ago

glory hole?

[–]hkdharmon 0 points1 point ago

$5 is $5. I don't give a shit about sports teams.

[–]Entellectual 0 points1 point ago

Glory's kind of a strong word...

[–]serrit 0 points1 point ago

Better Title: 16% of People Would Rather Watch a Happy Meal Commercial Than Eat.

[–]PhillupJSimpson 0 points1 point ago

With that $5 you could probably go to the WNBA championship game and watch your team lose courtside.

[–]dontuknow_sosickofu 0 points1 point ago

Does that $5 courtside seat include an all-u-can-eat buffet?

[–]ghastlyactions 0 points1 point ago

Local glory? Which would you rather have... $5.00 or the kid down the street from you finally beats level 7 on Contra. Local Glory!

[–]gamligaur 1 point2 points ago

What's WNBA?

[–]norseclone 0 points1 point ago

Playing fast and loose with the word 'glory' here.

[–]twilightmarchon 0 points1 point ago

As someone from Minnesota, I can verify that I would have preferred the $5.

[–]itslikeboo -1 points0 points ago

I don't even know if I have a local WNBA team and if I did, I would pay $5 to erase the awareness of it forever.

[–]opposing_critter 0 points1 point ago

I'll take that $5 since it affects me while local team winning won't make a difference.

[–]acfman17 0 points1 point ago

lol women's sports

[–]NewAlt 0 points1 point ago

How would that bring "local glory"?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Local glory? I live in the Seattle area and I've heard that our WNBA team is good and has won the championship. There is more news when the Mariners lose a close game than when the WNBA team wins it all.

[–]halfbreed22000 0 points1 point ago

Anybody want to hear a joke?.....The WNBA...

[–]no_thks_havin_butter 0 points1 point ago

I read this as "Who needs a glory hole when you've got a Happy Meal!" I was really confused about the WNBA team thing.

[–]BJbenny 0 points1 point ago

"local glory" you clearly have never watched the wnba

[–]strong_sad 0 points1 point ago

I feel sad about both hypothetical outcomes.

[–]Crook3d 0 points1 point ago

Local glory ... WNBA ... I do not see the connection you've made.

[–]bobcatgoldthwait 0 points1 point ago

I read this title originally as "Who needs a glory hole when you've got a Happy Meal!" and I was really confused.

Also I've apparently got a fucked up mind.

[–]Longhorn_Lapis 0 points1 point ago

Why not bet 5$ and win and get 10$? 10 is like double the fun of 5..

[–]MarchMadnessisMe 0 points1 point ago

Ok so what app is this or website, I see these all the time and it seems like a fun time killer.

[–]Dragonborn_11 0 points1 point ago

What is this app? I see it around but don't know how to get it

[–]Tellmeyoulikerabbits 0 points1 point ago

http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/yte53/would_you_rather_moments_album/

All it takes is a good title to get 5k upvotes. Good job sir.

[–]myrandomredditname 0 points1 point ago

WNBA = WTF

[–]IrregardingGrammar 0 points1 point ago

Because WNBA is like a consolation prize - you aren't good enough for real basketball, so go play with the others.

[–]spivet 0 points1 point ago

Eh, I'm from minnesota, so I figure I take the five bucks and hope the Lynx can pull it out again. (unless taking the five dollars makes it so they can't win, in which case fine, I'll take the WNBA championship over nothing at all)

[–]AtomicSamuraiCyborg 0 points1 point ago

I really think that's kind of awful. I mean, five bucks would be a pleasant surprise for you. At least 15 people would be incredibly overjoyed to win the championship, each of them way happier than you would be with five bucks. Don't these people think of anyone but themselves!?

[–]crackyJsquirrel 9 points10 points ago

I am sure those 15 people would also rather have $5.

[–]Memitim 4 points5 points ago

If you are playing sports for a living and you need morale reinforcement from me more than I need five bucks, you are doing it wrong.

[–]darkevilemu 1 point2 points ago

Not a good argument. Some team is going to win the the championship, it's just a matter of whether or not that team is local to you.

I don't really care which 15 people are made happy by the championship if I don't know any of them.

[–]adharasi 0 points1 point ago

why not bet $5 on them then get them to win so you get both.

[–]knowsworthy 0 points1 point ago

I love this

[–]bhahne -2 points-1 points ago

Op voted for local wnba

[–]alis96 0 points1 point ago

A happy meal is $5? How is that cheaper than cooking your own damn food?

[–]Noonelooksatthese -5 points-4 points ago

So the WNBA is women passing, stealing, and shooting balls... I guess they like it kinky?

[–]RiNgO70 0 points1 point ago
