Whenever I see PBF without source on the front page I always go into comments to upvote the guy who links to the original site. PBF is just too good to be unrecognized.

I used to be pissed about everything being uploaded to imgur instead of the original site...Till I realized every time someone does that and ends up on the front page, it ends up causing an accidental DoS attack.

But yea, they can at least link it in the comments.

I think (from some reddit source or another, I can't remember) that most comic authors would rather a massive spike in traffic followed by a little down time over a little spike and no downtime. Also, PBF probably has the bandwidth to deal with reddit.

The absolute best way of linking a comic would be source as link and mirror labeled 'mirror' in comments. The common excuse for not doing that is because the RES users + quick browsing people won't be able to click that kick ass dropdown image-in-browser button.

I was going to say that it is if you don't know the source, but I see the source is right there in the image, which is good because I've had that image for years, but mine doesn't have the source, so I never knew from whence it came.

Absolutely. In my opinion, no one touches them. I like Cyanide and Happiness, White Ninja, SMBC, Dinosaur Comics, XKCD, etc., but none of them are even close to PBF. It's like my sense of humour exactly. So hard to pick a favourite, but this one might be it.
