You should laugh. Stifle a few giggles and what not. If asked what you think is so funny act surprised and say "wait, you aren't trying to be funny?" If told to stop simply smile or silently laugh. If asked to respond to his remarks, say you refuse to have a discussion with someone who won't listen (because clearly he hasn't so far). Your point will be made.

Yeah, the professors at my school don't take being challenged so well. So I don't even bother. My professor today told us that we were richer than our parents. I said I'm not so sure about that. I think it's a mixed bag, and he says I know you are. This guy is known for having a major temper. I just backed off after that. I wish we had more people in positions of authority who could take a fucking argument.
