Beautiful, what an amazing room, but am I the only one who has privacy issues? Living or visiting there I'd have to change my name to LightsOutLilly

[–]TheSecretMe 11 points12 points ago

It's probably some place remote considering it looks like it's intended for star gazing.

[–]Lady_FriendOfSpiders 36 points37 points ago

that could be true, except for the identical room next door

[–]TheSecretMe 25 points26 points ago

Just reinforces the idea that it's some kind of remote novelty hotel.

[–]DoctorRavioli 2 points3 points ago

With a large decorated bed and champagne with two glasses on the table next to it? Looks like a couple's retreat as well.

[–]darien_gap 0 points1 point ago

It's for viewing the aurora.

This answered all of my concerns. Thank you. Morning sun waking eyes as old as mine are not welcome anymore.

I think there's some kind of correlation between being wealthy enough to live/stay somewhere that is mostly made of windows and not caring about the odd glance in from outside.

The only evidence I have of this is pictures on r/roomporn of panoramic window apartments on Park Avenue/Lakeshore Drive, etc, so further research may be required.

People with glass houses...

[–]tha_snazzle 16 points17 points ago

...tend to have a lot of money

I live in a condo in Chicago with a window wall. We don't have curtains nor do any of our neighbors. It gets a little weird sometimes, knowing everyone can see in, but it's also just the livingroom. I think that's the case with most condos you can see into. The bedroom would be entirely different

[–]rsocceraccount 2 points3 points ago

You obviously haven't taken heed of Alanis Morrisette's advice to wander around naked in your living roo-oo-oom.

This room has so many bachelor / manic LOLs that we must only select a few:

  • impractical in winter
  • impractical in summer
  • mirror baseboards for sexing, but draped for non-tacky-pre-sex
  • all that effort and no bed-skirt
  • champagne glass for one
  • there scotch and champagne - pick one!

The second unit clearly demonstrates that this is a resort. They could have done so much more in setting up the room - yeesh.

Non-US electrical mains put it somewhere in Europe.

So. Much. Complaining.

What says that this isn't just a picture a guest uploaded?

This bot is truly doing God's work.

[–]LarryBURRd 0 points1 point ago

How do they do it?

[–]birdslikeme 33 points34 points ago

Unless you want to be woken up at 4:30 from the sunlight (and heat) I would not want to sleep there.

[–]tha_snazzle 15 points16 points ago

I would think if someone goes to the trouble of designing and paying for the construction of a place like this, that problem may have been solved somewhere in the planning stages.

[–]briangilmore 1 point2 points ago

WTF were the gnomes doing in that video right before he turns it off?

[–]briangilmore 0 points1 point ago

That's what I thought! That's so weird...

[–]shuddleston919 0 points1 point ago

A trolling, literally... at 0:55

[–]pulp_hero 5 points6 points ago

If I recall correctly, it's pretty far north. If you go in the winter there's probably not much of a sunrise. Or heat, for that matter.

[–]phedre 1 point2 points ago

On the flip side, in summer you've got sunlight all night!

[–]phedre 5 points6 points ago

I must be weird - I love being woken up at 5:30 AM by the sun in the summer. In winter I have a really tough time getting out of bed.

[–]judgementalfish 8 points9 points ago

where is this and how much does it cost to stay there for a few days?

[–]mattyandco 11 points12 points ago

From the title of the picture provided by QualityEnforcer it seems to be this one in Finland but I can't find a price (the dates I picked are all booked out).

[–]EdwardTeach 4 points5 points ago

Its only open during the winter months so you can view the auroras. Despite what Jigsus says below it isn't over 1000 euro's a night. But it is hard to get a reservation as it fills up quickly.

[–]Jigsus 4 points5 points ago

When I tried to book 2 years ago that was the price they quoted me.

[–]EdwardTeach 0 points1 point ago

Ouch. How much time in advance did you try to book?

[–]Jigsus 0 points1 point ago

I don't remember precisely. I think it was 3 months

[–]Jigsus 0 points1 point ago

Over 1000 euros/night

[–]RandomZombie 8 points9 points ago

i can't imagine how difficult it would be to squeegee that beauty.

[–]bbbiha 0 points1 point ago

fingerprints and smudges everywhere

[–]Dingle_Fairy 6 points7 points ago

Damn, this reminds me that I need to buy some Windex.

[–]kavisiegel 3 points4 points ago

Someday I will build that and my children shall be conceived there.

[–]BeffyLove 2 points3 points ago

Slendermen, Slendermen everywhere...

[–]imustbedead 6 points7 points ago

I would not be able to sleep there.

I'm a 27 year old male, and I'm a pussy.

[–]Starpire 1 point2 points ago

Bet it gets really hot in there.

[–]Gr8pes 0 points1 point ago

OMG guys! picture this: ....Raining... A.W.E.S.O.M.E!

[–]clybill 0 points1 point ago

...and wake up super fucking early

[–]trublu213 0 points1 point ago

cool room but that would suck if youre trying to sleep in

[–]westcoastgeek 0 points1 point ago

Would be awesome as a guest home or separate home on your property. You could sleep in there when you want to wake up "with the sun".

[–]Renniha 1 point2 points ago

Saved and filed for future reference. Do want.

[–]Roman420 0 points1 point ago

That is so cool

[–]2498b3 0 points1 point ago

or struggle to fall asleep because of a billion raindrops making music with your bedsheet

[–]dam121594 0 points1 point ago

Well of course I'd like to sit around and chat.

[–]_no_name 0 points1 point ago

Imagine what that would be like while it's snowing.

[–]bluemirror 0 points1 point ago

I wanna be there :(

[–]pedodragon 0 points1 point ago

location?

[–]nlsk8ta 1 point2 points ago

[–]honeypixel 1 point2 points ago

I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis in person. Minus all the snow. How awesome would it be to watch the northern lights while lying in bed, all comfy and warm?? Sadly, my utter hatred for intense cold weather will forever keep me from living this dream. At least until I own a teleporter. Better start saving up just in case.

[–]anchorlight 0 points1 point ago

That blanket looks so comfortable.

[–]imnotlebowski 1 point2 points ago

This is Hey Arnold's bedroom when he grows up

[–]SwimsAfterEating 1 point2 points ago

... I'm guessing they don't get a lot of hail there. ;)

[–]mosij919 1 point2 points ago

this reminds me of Hey Arnold's room

[–]afganistanimation 0 points1 point ago

fapping could be an issue here

[–]Magnora 0 points1 point ago

I hope that's not in Texas because the AC bills would be off the charts.

[–]niczar 3 points4 points ago

You can't AC something like this; well I guess you could but it would require industrial grade equipment and power supply.
