When working as a project manager for a construction company I had a foreman who was Mexican. He has since gone back to Mexico. While he was here I was the only boss he ever had who treated him with dignity and respect. He was one of the best friends I ever had. He had ten kids in Mexico. He made decent money here but sent it all back to Mexico. Along with vehicles. So, he never had much cash. The day I was laid off he took me to lunch and refused to let me pay. He offered to help pay my bills which I declined. After I started doing remodeling jobs. He said that he would come over with a few of his friends at night and help me work. When I got paid I always tried to give them their share. He never let me. Or would leave the money somewhere if I insisted. I don't know that I will ever have another friend like that.

[–]planafuneral 465 points466 points ago

Fuck anyone that talks shit on Mexicans, they're awesome. I'm Irish but I grew up in the U.S. (now live in Ireland) growing up in the U.S. the best people I ever met were Mexicans.

First off, they feed you crazy when you call over to their houses, like massive quantities of food, and Mexican food is inexpensive AND tasty as fuck. They'll give you the shirt off their backs if it would make you warmer. They are loyal friends, even when you're wrong they got your back. All of my white "friends" would just sit there watching you get a beating adding the occasional "oh stop, that's not cool man" while my Mexican bros would jump in, ALL TOGETHER to save my ass. They'll come over, 5 of them, to help you work on your broken truck without even asking. They knew you couldn't drive and that's all the invite they need.

They are so funny, they rip the piss out of each other constantly... always laughing... and let's face it, Mexican women are fucking hot, I mean REALLY hot.

Anyone who talks shit on Mexicans has a problem with me.

[–]smd69 24 points25 points ago

[–]Imnolongerlurking 155 points156 points ago

As a Mexican, I approve.

[–]titan623 30 points31 points ago

As a white person, I confirm his approval.

[–]yournew-GOD 12 points13 points ago

As a white person, I see that I need Mexican friends.

[–]Minime23457 13 points14 points ago

As a hispanic (salvadoran) I also approve most of these statements.

[–]cris178 6 points7 points ago

As Hispanic (Salvadoran) I feel angry that all Hispanics are referred to as Mexican.

[–]Architration 113 points114 points ago

Someone who talks shit about Mexicans AND therefore has a problem with the Irish? May God have mercy on their soul...

[–]spankyham 34 points35 points ago

and suddenly 'planafuneral', looks less like a clever username and more like a promise.

[–]worker1978 19 points20 points ago

You can add Germans to that list. I guess no one dares mess with our Mexican amigos any more.

[–]Jonny1992 2 points3 points ago

Thanks Dwight...

[–]fuckteachforamerica 18 points19 points ago

Looks like not much has changed since the Irish fought with the Mexicans when the US declared war on Mexico...

[–]atapia984 3 points4 points ago

[–]Anynomus 13 points14 points ago

I agree. I had a really hot Mexican friend who invited me over one day. Her whole family was there, and they let me stay for dinner.. Man.. those were probably the best enchiladas I have ever had... :') BTW. The girl is my wife now.

[–]panintegral 8 points9 points ago

pics or it didn't happen.

[–]planafuneral 1 point2 points ago

I just want to let you know you're winning at life, congrats.

[–]hoodyhoodyhoo 37 points38 points ago

Not to mention Mexicans, particularly illegal immigrants, are some of the hardest workers you'll ever find. My dad used to hire illegal immigrants to work the warehouse at his company, not to save money since he still paid them full pay, but because he said they were the only employees that just took what you gave them, worked hard, made the best of it, and never complained. He said every time he hired a white or black worker they would slack off, act entitled, bitch about having to work, then get mad when my dad would call them on their shitty attitude. My dad said the Mexicans he hired had some of the greatest work ethic he'd ever seen in his life.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points ago

True, they're hard workers (my father also used to employ them before the local law enforcement began to crack down on it- Guatemalans not Mexicans). But a lot of it is bec they are too scared to NOT work hard. Yes, they are hard workers and want to support people back home. But I know my dad had workers who were too scared to tell my dad that they were working too hard because they didn't want to get fired. In a lot of places (ex. farm work) they can get horribly mistreated bec they can't report it without getting deported... even legal immigrants are afraid to do so. It's so sad.

[–]hoodyhoodyhoo 13 points14 points ago

It really is horrible. My dad loved his employees and would often go out and buy breakfast for the night workers to have something to eat after their shift ended or would invite them all to barbecues at our house on the weekends. It's a shame that some employers have to mistreat them and make them fear losing their jobs or treat them like slaves. My dad always told me that if I ever ended up in a management position to always treat my employees as great as possible because they'll only respect you as much as you respect them.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

Very true and can be said of any job, really. The people you work with (or even people you encounter every day) deserve all of your respect. My dad, who is the whitest most southern Cracker you can imagine, learned a decent amount of Spanish to make his workers feel comfortable. He learned all of the words related to their work and then the vocabulary related to 'family' so he could talk to them. His workers stayed with him longer than any of the other guys around.

[–]hoodyhoodyhoo 2 points3 points ago

Wow, I think we may have the same father. My dad's a proud southerner but did just like your dad and learned enough spanish to be able to joke around with them or ask them how their day was. He said he'd get the bilingual employees to act as middleman translators to help the workers teach him spanish and help him teach the workers english during their breaks.

[–]ElGranChiludo 10 points11 points ago

That's probably what the Irish and the Mexicans have in common. Hard work. And also beer, can't forget about beer.

[–]latinagringa2121 2 points3 points ago

Yep. I was a waitress at a sports bar that was owned by 3 younger Korean men who only employed Mexicans in the back. All us servers were white (bar was kind of like a Hooters), and would bitch and moan about everything. The kitchen staff and bussers would never say one bad word about their jobs or the bosses.

[–]WhitePostIt 44 points45 points ago

What if I'm genetically Mexican and told you that the 'Mexicans' I got along with were the Coconuts - white on the inside, brown on the outside. We're disliked by both sides because we don't look white, but neither do we participate in Mexican culture. Or even speak much Spanish. We still feed people like crazy though (and I can make a mean taco).

Would you still have a problem with me?

[–]thegreatestjose 27 points28 points ago

I look much whiter than Mexican. My buddy in high school liked to play a shitty game of "What race is my pal?" and people described me as all kinds of European. Someone even said Jewish once. But people treated me very cruelly in school because I wasn't "Mexican" enough, but I get treated differently when people found out my name is Jose. It's generally been lose-lose for me in my conservative county :/

[–]eljorgeruiz 57 points58 points ago

No no no! Remember that Mexican isn't a race but a nationality! Some Mexicans are Mestizos, Mulatos, others Native Americans and some of us are Castizos and Criollos! Our culture is the same but our physical features may differ.

[–]WhitePostIt 14 points15 points ago

Ouch yeah. My bro (also named Jose, go figure) didn't look white enough, but he's even more American than me - he joined the Air Force, and still got flak from people expecting him to be Mexican.

[–]Biblical_Shrimp 13 points14 points ago

Tell me about it. I'm as white as they come, Mexican, and just joined the air force 4 months ago. Everyone here expects me to be a Spanish-English dictionary.

[–]Biggie18 3 points4 points ago

Or when you get anything in the mail and it's either just in Spanish, or Bi-Lingual.

[–]sparkorse 2 points3 points ago

what city is this "Jose" from?

[–]Biggie18 4 points5 points ago

I am half Mexican and like Half UK (Irish, English, Welsh, Scottish). I have 26 cousins, 5 aunts and 2 uncles just on my dad's side. They are very much the big party, pinata and potluck sort.

The funny thing is not many of the aunts or uncles can make great Mexican food, passable at best. My mom, the whitest of white people can out cook them all...

Anywho, I'm pretty much the whitest of anyone, and still would have the support of anyone of them if I had to throw down.

[–]Oliver20 4 points5 points ago

I feel exacactly the same i am mexican but look really white, one kid said that i'm whiter than a jar of manaise almost everyone makes fun of me beacause of that, even my friends. TT.TT I know that feel bro

[–]annoyinglyclever 2 points3 points ago

One of my friends has a similar problem, he looks half black and the rest of his family is as white as marshmallows. People swear he's adopted but it's just the Italian half shining through. His exgirlfriend's father (Southern Baptist Preacher) did not believe his story or approve of him dating his daughter.

[–]pez_dispenser 5 points6 points ago

I really hated being referred to as a coconut in highschool. When I was younger I felt like I had to be more "Mexican" but then as I got older I realized I don't need to be anything but myself. Being Mexican and American are both a part of me and I embrace both cultures full heartedly.

[–]PYRO49 3 points4 points ago

Fellow coconut here! I know that feel, man...

[–]Tofusteak 0 points1 point ago

Coconuts represent! Seriously never heard that term before. Grew up in a white suburb near Los Angeles. Knew enough Spanish to get me a C- both years of high school.

My sister was in a speech class when she was a little kid and the instructors blamed her problem(forgot what the problem was) on the fact that my mom was teaching her Spanish as well as English, and it was confusing her. They shut up quick when my mom said she didn't speak Spanish either.

[–]PoonSmasher9002 2 points3 points ago

So what am I?...old dog shit? I'm white on the outside but brown on the inside? Mexicans don't accept me because they don't think im Mexican since I'm light skinned. White people... well I just don't get white people.

[–]ashmc16 12 points13 points ago

As a Mexican-Irish, I also approve

[–]Kaizen321 6 points7 points ago

Mexican Irish? Damn! Viva la mixing.

Soy Mexicano, eso lo dije pa'que los gringos entiendan. :)

[–]ashmc16 1 point2 points ago

Jajaja. Si creciendo en México con un apellido irlandes todos se confundian, and even when I moved to San Diego, it would confuse people :D sorry i kind switched around languages

[–]HeWhoWas 22 points23 points ago

I wish Australia had Mexicans.

[–]estradaman 34 points35 points ago

We can't swim THAT far.

[–]kyoutenshi 24 points25 points ago

We're MexiCANs not Mexi-cant's.

[–]Farisr9k 5 points6 points ago

Maoris are pretty cool and they fit this description in a few places.

Maoris always have your back, even if they just met you.

They cool.

[–]ItsNotJustABoulder 5 points6 points ago

Its cause Mexicans have such strong family values. (Which applies to both family and close friends. Whatever you consider family, really) Familia es todo, man

[–]JonVanDyke 7 points8 points ago

This begs the question why were you receiving so many beatings that you could perform the appropriate number of field trials to make a statistical inference about the entirety of the Mexican and/or white population? Also, what is your p-value?

Thank you in advance

[–]eKtoR 3 points4 points ago

Thank you, that's very cool.

[–]AnteaterFilms 26 points27 points ago

Sorry, but all attempts to encompass a group in a single qualificative (even a good one like "they're awesome"), is utterly deplorable.

I, as a resident born in Mexico, only ask for one thing: please judge me and everyone as individuals.

[–]StraightGeniuss 8 points9 points ago

That request will be hard to come by.

I'm sorry.

[–]YO_ITS_TYRESE 11 points12 points ago

You Canadians are all the same...

[–]WhoeverThatGuyIs 15 points16 points ago

Scumbag "resident born in Mexico" :

Gets complimented...

...Complains

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

THANK YOU. While his comment was incredibly nice, it was also filled with stereotypes. "Good" stereotypes are still stereotypes.

P.S. Summer I spent studying abroad in Mexico was one of the greatest of my life. Your country is beautiful!!

[–]przcureberry 2 points3 points ago

Why would it necessarily have to be deplorable? A majority of us understand that not every single Mexican is an awesome person. Hispanic groups, from what I can remember, typically feel comfortable speaking for the entirety of their group. If you ask a Mexican "How to Mexicans feel about __?" you'll get a pretty accurate idea. If you ask a Black person in America "How do all Black people feel about __?" you'll get a pissy response about individualism.

[–]forseriousyouguys 2 points3 points ago

"Deplorable" seems a little strong. He seems to be talking mostly about cultural differences in the way they act compared to his American friends. I don't really see a problem with that, but I tend not to get worked up about things that aren't offensive.

[–]albertscoot 5 points6 points ago

You've never seen heaven until you meet a half mexican/half Chinese or Japanese girl. I mean growing up in a neighborhood where all the girls start popping out Bs and Cs from puberty you don't get the deer in the headlights looks as much but the first time I saw one, fuck....

[–]eKtoR 9 points10 points ago

Not sure if you are talking bra sizes or grades. :)

[–]Ozzy7 3 points4 points ago

As a Korean dude, I approve.

[–]CAT_JESUS 2 points3 points ago

This is awesome and how it relates with a TIL I read a while ago about how the Irish helped The Mexican army during the Mexican-American war. Then, I think it said something about there being a bunch of Irish soldiers being hung and it's now known as the largest hanging in the U.S.

[–]Exedous 2 points3 points ago

As a Mexican, we are forever indebted to the Irish for the St. Patrick's Brigade.

[–]BryanBeast13 2 points3 points ago

As a Latino raised with Mexicans... I approve

[–]OwnCarmacode 5 points6 points ago

as Ukrainian, I dont know what da fuck are you talking about

[–]kyoutenshi 2 points3 points ago

Mexicans

[–]OwnCarmacode 4 points5 points ago

thanks, I will definitely google that

[–]CastorTrollux 1 point2 points ago

Were those Mexican Mexicans or American Mexicans?

[–]planafuneral 2 points3 points ago

does it matter?

[–]CastorTrollux 2 points3 points ago

Possibly. I don't dislike Americans in general, but for example the Midwest bible belt culture isn't exactly compatible with my own world view. American Mexicans will have different values and behaviours than Mexican Mexicans.

[–]Kaizen321 6 points7 points ago

I agree. For example, I came to the USA at 10. I'm still Mexican but I've been here for over 20yrs. I still feel proud but this is also my home. I'm not a traior as "other" Mexican friends consider me. I decided to go to college and have a career and non labor job. I still talk the slang, go to my Mexican humble parties (yeah baby), eat the food and hang with my buddies. It's sad to see some don't consider themselves Mexican even though they are first generation here.

Pinches nacos con el nopalote en la frente y dicen que no son mexicanos. No manchen!

Rant off.

[–]Emaleeen1 0 points1 point ago

Mexican-American from Arizona here. We don't dish out as much food, but we will lend you our shirts, and help you kick ass.

And soccer is boring. ducks

[–]mart306 0 points1 point ago

"rip the piss out of each other" Never heard this awesome phrase

[–]JonnyCrush 1 point2 points ago

Sometimes when I read large paragraphs, I'll accidentally reread over a line that I just finished reading instead of dropping down to the next line....With that said, I just read "They are loyal, inexpensive AND tasty as fuck.".....which sort-of still makes sense.

[–]latinagringa2121 -1 points0 points ago

I'd say this guy is a real MexiCAN.

[–]PoonSmasher9002 1 point2 points ago

As a mexican stay away from our women homes! Why do latinas have a thing for white men? Is it because they're are circumcised?

[–]ZiggyOnMars -1 points0 points ago

Being the smallests are always the modest.

[–]A_Giant_midget 1 point2 points ago

As a Mexican who has a Irish friend the Irish are fucking awesome!

[–]MauricioSnchz 1 point2 points ago

As a Mexican living in the USA is really weird to see how most of the people are really cold and shy. Also a very common thing to say to your friends is : 'This is your house and you are always welcome here'

I miss having sleepovers every weekend :(

[–]UpvoteHere 0 points1 point ago

As a person who grew up with all Mexican friends, I 100% agree. However, some Mexicans can be a little wild. Check out the cartels. :0

[–]conrick 1 point2 points ago

Como Mexicano apruebo esto.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]JuanAG31 6 points7 points ago

Good Juan

[–]N8iveButcher 99 points100 points ago

Awe, don't be sad. Lettuce talk about it.

[–]Shokker88 51 points52 points ago

No, there will beano more talking about it.

[–]nimahu 25 points26 points ago

Not nece-celery.

[–]thegreatestjose 34 points35 points ago

Who puts celery in your tacos?! I'd be pretty cheesed off about that if I were you!

[–]Pilpecurb 16 points17 points ago

Guess shell have to do better than that next time

[–]WeakTryFail 16 points17 points ago

Tortilla-ly in agreement, lets steak a minute to think about it!

[–]tyrannosaurusawrex 17 points18 points ago

oh que.

[–]HolaPinchePuto 7 points8 points ago

I don't think OP really want to talk about it.

Maybe if you and him meat at a coffee shop or somewhere relaxing?

[–]anusdestroyer2 13 points14 points ago

Taco.

[–]Randy_Robbo 13 points14 points ago

i wish we had more mexicans in england :( i'd love to get drunk with mexicans

[–]21nipples 7 points8 points ago

I'd love to get drunk with you or anybody

[–]Offensive_Brute 13 points14 points ago

In latino culture its not uncommon for latinos from one country to be raised with stereotypes o latinos from other countries. You know its bullshit, because people are individuals no matter where you go, but you still here it, and it does effect how you relate to them. As a Puerto Rican, when I moved to Texas I had no idea what to expect of Mexicans other than Mariachi and tacos. Turns out they got a pretty damn good thing going here. Barbacoa smothered in salsa verde is what God must eat.

[–]Good_Omens 95 points96 points ago

As a Mexican, that taco offends me. Put a mustache on this you son of a bitch.

[–]IntelligentBacteria 61 points62 points ago

[–]Good_Omens 19 points20 points ago

That doesn't make any sense, but its definitely better.

[–]lskkat 9 points10 points ago

Oddly enough, the Mexican Hat Dance immediately started playing in my head once I saw the image.

[–]BnGamesReviews 22 points23 points ago

King Taco FTW (In SoCal)

[–]Good_Omens 5 points6 points ago

If you're in Los Angeles, go to the grand central market. You can eat like a mexican king for like $5.

[–]WhatIfItWereTrue 19 points20 points ago

I'd rather eat like a Mexican drug lord

[–]--Repetitive-- 5 points6 points ago

God damnit everything that looks delicious is in California. In n Out and now King Taco...

[–]BnGamesReviews 3 points4 points ago

Don't forget our women too ;)

[–]BfmVfan1 9 points10 points ago

Titos is good too (off the 405)

[–]Good_Omens 11 points12 points ago

I don't want to make enemies, but that place is about as close to an authentic taco as that micro penis.

[–]BfmVfan1 7 points8 points ago

Lol. I just love tacos in general, I really don't care where the fuck they're from. They're good anytime of day!

If you are ever in the San Fernando Valley, Tacos De Oso hits the fucking spot for a midnight snack

[–]bigheavyshoe 8 points9 points ago

You don't care where they're from because you're in SoCal. As someone who grew up in SoCal then moved all over the place, mexican food outside LA is quite a let-down. I'm so spoiled.

[–]BnGamesReviews 10 points11 points ago

Thats why you don't leave the homeland :)

[–]Roro909 4 points5 points ago

The original one in LA is still good the one in Ontario is eh at best. But the best Mexican food is always at home, or those hole in the wall places. :)

[–]Mr_Rawrr 10 points11 points ago

Mexican reporting in because of America's bastardization of our food, this bitch was only $1.75

[–]lava1000 9 points10 points ago

That's expensive for a taco al pastor.

[–]pez_dispenser 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, you can usually buy a plate full of tacos for cheaper.

[–]lava1000 3 points4 points ago

As a Mexican, I don't care about being offended about stupid stuff. I thought it was funny.

[–]Tonytarium 4 points5 points ago

God damn that looks fucking delicious, i miss those.

[–]NotAPie 3 points4 points ago

I'm Mexican, never in my life have I had a taco like that. I feel sad.

[–]linlorienelen 9 points10 points ago

I've been to a few parties for Mexican friends where they've hired a taco lady who just stands there and grills these en masse. It's AWESOME.

[–]BnGamesReviews 7 points8 points ago

You must make a pilgrimage my friend. Come! Join us in the never ending feast!

[–]Mr_Rawrr 3 points4 points ago

I weep for you, my amigo. Authentic steak tacos are a great joy in my life.

[–]sparkorse 2 points3 points ago

covered in onion, cilantro and sausa

[–]Maeby78 5 points6 points ago

I had a....tryst.....with a Mexican boy once. He was a line cook at the restaurant I bartended at, and he didn't speak much English. I spoke a little Spanish because I was raised in Miami, but nothing that did us any good. He took me out to eat and stuff, but we spent most of the time giggling and flirting without words. He was quite a bit younger than me.

Anyway, I spent time at his house and with his friends that also worked in our kitchen. None of them spoke much English, but they were all very good to me. It was an odd feeling. I would hang out in the livingroom with a bunch of these guys, and I couldn't understand most of what they were saying. They were very sweet to me though, even though they were a little rough around the edges.

I ended helping a few of them out with stuff that they had trouble with, work permit paperwork and whatnot, and I guess I earned some kind of place of honor with them.

My purse got taken at work one day, and I was heartbroken. It was stolen right out of the employee breakroom, and because of timing, it was one of the kitchen crew that I hung out with who snagged it. Dammit, I loved these guys, and one of em snagged my purse.

I let it go, but out of the blue, my purse showed up a few days later. It was sitting exactly where it was taken from in the breakroom.

I don't know how exactly it happened, but later I put together that one of the guys had called off for a about a week. I happened to be there when he picked up his final check. He was healing by that time, but dammit, he had gotten the shit kicked out of him. Still black and blue, and one of his eyes was just a mass of red spiderwebs....

Anyway, I know without knowing that these guys held me in some sort of regard, and someone crossed the line and got shitcanned. I love those guys, and whatever they stood for.

Not sure if this relates to the thread in the slightest, but my current boyfriend is asleep and I felt like sharing.

[–]GatoEnMisPantalonez 25 points26 points ago

I have a confession. I'm Mexican and i fucking love Taco bell. I bring shame to my family.

[–]goldsong 13 points14 points ago

i have the worst confession: i am a vegetarian mexican...

[–]ankhx100 2 points3 points ago

I have a worse confession. I'm Mexican, and I love Jack-in-the-Box's tacos. Greasy, greasy crack.

[–]wiggum_x 37 points38 points ago

My roommate is Mexican, and there's a huge amount of racism that I see every time we are out. It's sad and infuriating.

[–]BnGamesReviews 22 points23 points ago

As a Half Mexican from East Los Angeles, I lived in Northwest Washington for about 2 years. Ive never experienced so much dislike/hatred just because of my genetic makeup before that move. The fact that im half white made some even more agitated as the idea of cross breeding was even worse.

[–]Mr_Rawrr 22 points23 points ago

Chicago half-Mexican here. I hardly ever tell people I'm a mudblood.

[–]BnGamesReviews 48 points49 points ago

Voldergringo would take our wands :(

[–]Radagastxiii 6 points7 points ago

Never leaving Cali, so much hate out there..

[–]meeerod 18 points19 points ago

What agitates me is that it's seen as acceptable. I've had co-workers that I don't joke with bust out with Mexican jokes, but they would probably get pissed if I threw a black joke back at them. I hate the double standards, how it's not ok to make jokes about certain colors but it's ok to make fun of Mexicans.

[–]Omega191 10 points11 points ago

Some people are dicks, the answer is to not to be a racist back, but call them out.

[–]oldmoneey 8 points9 points ago

That scares me, where do you live?

[–]mehdbc 12 points13 points ago

Shit, you don't even have to leave Mexican communities to experience racism. Pinches malinchistas no valen dick.

[–]CacaHead 4 points5 points ago

Exactly, my grandfather is the most racist person I know to Mexicans, and he's Mexican American.

[–]WhitePostIt 6 points7 points ago

It's funny, because I get the racism too when I hang out with my Mexican buddy. But when I had Indian friends, I got nothing. It took me a while to figure it out (and several Indians hitting on me/speaking in their native language) that I look Indian enough to pass if I have an Indian with me. I'm half Puerto Rican, and other Puerto Ricans never believe me when I tell them my mother is Puerto Rican!

And then there are all the Pakistani/Iranian people who stop and ask me for directions in...Pakistanish/Iranish? I dunno, but I always have to apologize and explain that I don't speak their language.

[–]forbacher 7 points8 points ago

FYI: the languages are called Urdu/Farsi.

[–]SkyTaxi 3 points4 points ago

Seriously? I've, luckily, never gotten a bunch of flak for having Mexican roots. My father, and my mother were born in Mexico as were my brothers.

Can you give a couple examples on how you guys were harassed?

[–]eKtoR 2 points3 points ago

In Mexico, it's mainly the difference between classes. The rich people feel entitled to being assholes hehe.

Also, Spanish Mexicans, are the worst of the worst. They delight on calling us 'Indios' and making the brown people feel less.

[–]PoonSmasher9002 0 points1 point ago

Where are Mexican persecuted? As a Mexican in the South west we are usually the majority in most urban places. We procreate like jackrabbits...err Mexican juanrabbits.

[–]ElGranChiludo 1 point2 points ago

Come to California, my friend. We basically run this bitch.

[–]blue_taco 17 points18 points ago

A sad taco is a blue taco...

[–]Good_Omens 21 points22 points ago

"Blue taco" sounds like a much more appropriate name for a "blue waffle".

[–]ExtraCheesed_Buddha 17 points18 points ago

Oh for the love of tacos, no

[–]Good_Omens 2 points3 points ago

No no no. You don't love those tacos. Not even once.

[–]beepbeepwow 4 points5 points ago

If you saw him in a room and he didn't speak at all you'd just assume he was Irish.

Canelo Alvarez

[–]goldsong 2 points3 points ago

[–]21nipples 4 points5 points ago

[–]GhostofVincentPrice 12 points13 points ago

[–]lukelear 1 point2 points ago

All of the handles related to mexico are coming out of the woodwork

[–]Jubei_08 1 point2 points ago

I get spoken to in Spanish by English speakers and viceversa. I usually like messing with them like the Me Llamo es Brian bit in Family Guy.

[–]PYRO49 9 points10 points ago

Mexican is a nationality, not an ethnic group.

[–]alphanumerica 2 points3 points ago

Why the a?

[–]velolover 2 points3 points ago

When you are looking to get this on your shirt - http://www.threadless.com/product/3966/I_Don_t_Wanna_Taco_Bout_It

[–]this_sort_of_thing 1 point2 points ago

Now-a-days? So there was a time when Mexicans had it good in the US?

[–]forseriousyouguys 10 points11 points ago

When it was still Mexico.

[–]wherestheanykey 2 points3 points ago

Yes... when it wasn't called the "US"...

[–]subarulegacy 1 point2 points ago

Mexican and French here. No coconut action here though.

Puedo hablar espanol no como ustedes que son una pinche desgracia a la raza

[–]subarulegacy 2 points3 points ago

Unrelated but for the love of god, if you think eating an "al pastor" taco in the U.S is authentic, kill yourself.

They cook them on shwarmas in Mexico and season the meat different and outside. Here, you're just eating seasoned bits of pork.

[–]Nivlac024 3 points4 points ago

I'm half Filipino/White and I guess to some I look Mexican. I'm also able to understand Mandarin (Chinese) pretty well as I took classes in college.

I've lost track on how many times I've wanted to smack some bigoted Chinese lady thinking that I don't know what they're saying :/

(I live in San Francisco if wondering)

[–]special_words 1 point2 points ago

This country would be shit without our brothers and sisters from across the border. Viva la raza!

[–]Mastadge 0 points1 point ago

As a ver white mexican, people don't shit on me as much, which is awesome. Sad for all the mexican looking mexicans

[–]Drooperdoo 1 point2 points ago

What a condescending thread.

Mexicans are awesome . . . er . . . uh . . . because (as slaves) they work hard.

"They do work no white man would!"

"I enjoy exploiting them. They're so quiet and docile. They always have a smile as they work as our maids, feeding us, or working in the hot sun, doing back-breaking labor for cheap."

Wow! I never thought Liberalism would start to echo the same talking-points slavers did in the 19th Century.

My heart sinks, reading these comments and not seeing a single "Mexicans are awesome because Octavio Paz's poetry is genius! Or Guillermo Del Toro is a great director." It's all exploitative "They're docile and do our shit-jobs for slave-wages. Ain't it great to have 'em?"

America, you have not advanced since 1865. Stop kidding yourself.

[–]calvinvle 2 points3 points ago

I would love to buy this shirt if they had one

[–]threepw00d 1 point2 points ago

[–]Minime23457 3 points4 points ago

Ok can we stop with the mexicans are the only Hispanics/latinos <--- (it's a Hispanic thing some of us get mad if we don't get called the right name I don't know?) anyway I'm Salvadoran small country but proud there's also off the top my head: Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, and many more who are almost similar to Mexico's kindness and situation in america but no Mexico is every Hispanic/Latino (sorry) I know not everyone thinks that Mexico is the only hispanic country in the world but if I got 15 different people (races, backgrounds, and all) 12/15 would end up saying I'm Mexican... Now for the apologizing part this not any offense against anyone I love everyone no matter race, background, where their from etc... (except the Belgians damn Belgians) no no I'm kidding just kidding belgians (please don't hurt me) anyway this is wher... NO NO BELGIANS I WAS KIDDING FAVDKBVUOJHIOHDUOOCVGAWg End rant.

[–]Drag0nsl4y3r14 1 point2 points ago
