The electricity would flow from one pole to the other, bypassing your finger. It might get hot and burn you, and it'll certainly blow a breaker, but it would not electrocute you.

For that you want something like this.

[–]PureMDC 240 points241 points ago

In the picture it shows 2 fingers from one hand and although that would hurt very badly it would not kill you. One finger from each hand would send electricity though your heart causing cardiac arrhythmia leading to cardiac arrest (aka heart attack). It would also slowly cook all your insides.

Source: I'm an electrician and this was all amply explained in my schooling.

[–]seditious3 176 points177 points ago

Amply - I get it!

[–]zbubus 133 points134 points ago

Watt?

[–]DrNewton 77 points78 points ago

You guys are really killing the potential for this thread.

[–]TintoreraRacing 77 points78 points ago

just go with the flow, resistance is futile

[–]Airazz 62 points63 points ago

This is stupid. I'll be in my happy place if anyone needs me.

[–]crimsonnate 37 points38 points ago

So everyone is just going to keep this up until it hertz?

[–]idioma 27 points28 points ago

That's how I make money when I'm running the comedy circuit.

[–]crimsonnate 32 points33 points ago

It may be time to pull the plug on this.

[–]plasteredmaster 2 points3 points ago

ohm, what is this all about?

[–]BlazeOrangeDeer 4 points5 points ago

1,030,000 ohms

[–]ClaudeDuMort 43 points44 points ago

Ohm-a-gerd!

[–]Nutbusters 11 points12 points ago

Another pun thread? What a shock.

[–]pdavidians 1 point2 points ago

revolting

[–]muahdib 12 points13 points ago

slowly cook all your insides.

At my school the teacher even demonstrated this with a sausage, like this.

[–]i_believe_in_pizza 4 points5 points ago

Poor little sausage.

[–]omaha_shanks 1 point2 points ago

Well I know how I'm cooking my hot dogs for now on.

[–]pez319 0 points1 point ago

Seems like an efficient way to cook hotdogs.

[–]CrusaderRabbit 1 point2 points ago

"Strom durch Wurst" is my new motto for life.

[–]sericeousburden 18 points19 points ago

There was a small girl indiscreet / Who asked her mom for a sweet. / Mom said, “Aye, it’s here in my pocket!” / “Go stick your lil thumb in a socket!”

What kind of tomfoolery is this? That's no limerick.

[–]KarinaFlower 2 points3 points ago

Thank you! That's what I was thinking

[–]sericeousburden 13 points14 points ago

Inconsistent meter, no story. How about:

There was a small girl indiscreet

Who asked her poor mum for a treat

Mum said "In my pocket"

She found a live socket

And now packs her bum up with peat.

[–]OwenCohen 3 points4 points ago

You Mis-spelled Pete

[–]samjowett 5 points6 points ago

You misspelled misspelled.

[–]NapoleonBonerparts 13 points14 points ago

Ah. That makes sense. A few years back I was extremely lazy. I had a powerstrip under my futon(Livin' the Dream). I had to unplug and replug something. I was lying on the futon as I reached under the futon for the cord, found and unplugged it. Now, I'm not sure why(probably due to being lazy), but I grabbed the metal prongs as I was plugging it in. I guess, luckily for me, I could only reach with one hand.

TL;DR: Laziness both threatened and saved my life. Rock and roll still ruined it.

[–]joeanon 6 points7 points ago

It's not like 120 is likely to kill you in small bursts even if it goes across your heart.

In most cases you will be pushed or have the option to yank away. Rarely with 120 lock you up unless maybe your grounded very well.

Even then you almost have to get stuck somehow to die from 120. I've been electrocuted lots of different ways by 120 lines. A quick volt is exceptionally unlikely to do any real damage.

When you see people get stuck via electrocuation, that doesn't actually happen much. Even getting hit by 220 chances are you can push your legs off and move away.

I knew a guy who was working on the top of a metal grain tower 30' up or so. They have fans to stop the buildup if methane gas I believe. He was the fucking 220 van, who knows how many volts. He got hit and was maybe holding a metal ladder so his shoes did not insulate him.

He was able to push off with his legs and fell from the top of a grain tower flat on his back and lived to keep working for decades more.

[–]Mugros 4 points5 points ago

Also, bad engineering threatened your life. There are much better plugging systems in the work.

[–]tloftxj 1 point2 points ago

hey i know this is completely off topic, but have you submitted any more nfl fan art lately? those were awesome.

[–]Indiego89 1 point2 points ago

So would cardiac Arrest happen almost instantly or would it take some time?

[–]b0ules 4 points5 points ago

And that's why electricians always know watts up...

[–]joeanon 1 point2 points ago

I would kill you eventually if the current was allowed to keep flowing. It would just take much longer.

[–]tickleberries -1 points0 points ago

So like, if you had a nose ring designed like this, would it work, since you have two nostrils?

[–]ibrokeadickonce 0 points1 point ago

nose ring to finger ring, possibly

[–]gammaXray 1 point2 points ago

Cardiac arrest and heart attack is not the same thing, mr. electrician:) Also, you would probably need a chest adapter, or a one toe / one finger adapter for this to truly succeed.

[–]Limpstiffy 1 point2 points ago

Wouldent someone need higher voltage than 120v anyway?

[–]joeanon 0 points1 point ago

Need for what ?

[–]purplestOfPlatypuses 0 points1 point ago

It's really the current that gets you. And in a short circuit 20A through the heart should be sufficient to cause some bad damage.

[–]PureMDC 0 points1 point ago

Amperage kills, not voltage. A taser gun makes initial contact around 50,000v and it does not kill (although there are exceptions).

[–]helljumper230 0 points1 point ago

amply explained in my schooling.

So you have no experience with it? We need another opinion!

[–]PureMDC 0 points1 point ago

Oh no, I have been shocked many man times by 120v (standard house hold voltage in North America), 240v is not very fun either, but 347v was by far the worst experience I ever had. After I got shocked by 347 I could not stop shaking and everything smelled like burning.

[–]cogman10 0 points1 point ago

Computer engineer here and you are correct. They taught us the "one hand rule" as well. (If you keep one hand in your pocket while working on a live electrical circuit, it is much harder to cause serious damage (assuming you are wearing proper clothing for the job).

[–]utopianfiat 0 points1 point ago

Human Body ~= 10 kΩ

I assume we're in the US, so 120V AC?

W = V2 / R , so 1202 / 10000 = 1.44 W

so 1.44 J/s let's say the body loses half of it so we'll say .75 J/s = .75˚C/s

That is not exactly a "slow" cooking.

[–]BrowsOfSteel 0 points1 point ago

.75 J/s = .75˚C/s

Bzzzt. The human body doesn’t have a heat capacity of 1 J/°C . Try 3500 J/(kg×ΔK), so 210 000 for a 60 kg person. At 1.44 watts with no external loss, it would take forty hours to heat such a person one kelvin.

[–]samjowett 0 points1 point ago

Heart attacks are caused by blocked arteries. They are not the same as cardiac arrests.

[–]christianbrowny 0 points1 point ago

degloveing...

most of these photos are from mechanical injurers but electricity can cause similar effects

[–]metalgeargreed 14 points15 points ago

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere this is just an art piece.

[–]Perryn 12 points13 points ago

That wouldn't do it, either. The electricity would short within the duck and flow back up the line (and trip the breaker).

[–]VaguelyCondescending 13 points14 points ago

What a coincidence, I wouldn't try that thing either.

[–]Kahnza 1 point2 points ago

That poor duck :(

[–]kcconlin9319 1 point2 points ago

If only the hot line is connected to the duck, electricity would flow from the duck through the water and anyone in the tub to ground through the plumbing (assuming copper pipes).

[–]Perryn 1 point2 points ago

True, but even then it is unlikely to kill the occupant of the tub. Still far from safe, though.

[–]lilshawn 11 points12 points ago

Now this product is worthy of wtf.

[–]Kirmz 7 points8 points ago

Why is this a thing?

[–]muahdib 1 point2 points ago

I don't think it really is a thing. The site seems to be a designer's studio and this Vilkus plug a kind of design school work. (I think...) I'ts not in the store anyway..

[–]m0h3k4n 3 points4 points ago

But, it is available at thinkgeek.com

[–]maxbots 7 points8 points ago

April Fools

[–]not4smurf 0 points1 point ago

You clicked the Buy Now button too I see...

[–]maxbots 1 point2 points ago

No, just know ThinkGeek.

[–]Crimyote 0 points1 point ago

Because people wanna die?

[–]argv_minus_one 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, but like that? There are other ways to die that are less painful, and others that are more painful if that's your thing. I'm not sure I see the point of doing it this way.

[–]flamingspinach_ 4 points5 points ago

lol, that's the same guy who designed the Optimus Keyboard!

[–]pseudolobster 2 points3 points ago

Yep, sure is. They make (or at least design) all sorts of crazy stuff.

[–]muahdib 1 point2 points ago

who designed the Optimus Keyboard!

I just say wow! 8-) Have been looking for such a keyboard for long time, but... it seems as I have to continue looking as the software was not in source code (and only for Win and MacOSX) :-( which is ridiculous, and no protocol specification found. I don't understand this stupidity.

[–]gormster 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, also, it costs two thousand dollars.

[–]CaveExplorer 14 points15 points ago

What the fuck am I reading?

[–]andre_halcyon 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, first thing I thought too. They need some sort of two-plug thingy, one for each hand.

[–]Butterspud 2 points3 points ago

It won't kill but you can punch the fuck out of someone.

[–]i_believe_in_pizza 1 point2 points ago

Resulting in a /r/wtf worthy album with a nice Gore warning. I was punched with an electrical plug. At the ER. 3 days after the incident. 1 week on. Healing nicely. Barely noticeable now.

[–]Butterspud 1 point2 points ago

Damn dude, back story? Glad you'r healing nicely.

[–]AdrianBrony 2 points3 points ago

hmm, line the inside of the ring with aerogel to keep you from getting burned, and you have a covert way to short out electrical systems in case you wanna break into somewhere.

[–]ohmygodbees 1 point2 points ago

Youre just going to end up killing the circuits the outlets are on. Security is on its own breaker

[–]AdrianBrony 0 points1 point ago

Well sure, in competenly made systems.

[–]nbo 1 point2 points ago

unless you have two.

[–]varikonniemi 1 point2 points ago

This, also, should be used otherwise as insructed to gain effectivity.

As pictured, the current would flow from one finger to another, burning them but probably sparing you.

How to REALLY do it correctly is to use one finger from each hand.

[–]Madrider760 0 points1 point ago

Damnit, I wanted to kill myself

[–]postive_scripting 0 points1 point ago

But what if the person is barefoot?

[–]Indiego89 0 points1 point ago

Honestly where can I purchase this?

[–]decomposed-condoms 1 point2 points ago

Put your penis in it. I'll give you a dollar.

[–]Slurmoholic 1 point2 points ago

Great, now I need a euro adapter to die.

[–]De_vinchy 0 points1 point ago

Still better than getting married, right?

[–]ryannayr140 0 points1 point ago

Came here to say this, forgot that I wasn't the only nerd on reddit.

[–]coogie 0 points1 point ago

Well on those old Pacific breakers it won't trip and will just get really hot and melt. I've seen an electrician work on a plug and accidentally short it out and the damn thing was arching for a good 5 seconds and nothing tripped.

[–]rarely_heard_opinion 0 points1 point ago

Is that thing actually sold?

i'd think it would break many laws to actually sell it

edit: ah, it was an april fool's joke

[–]Its_mah_phone 0 points1 point ago

WHY?

[–]omnipotent87 0 points1 point ago

That is the main reason as a mechanic you don't wear a ring. Though its only 12 volts most batteries are capable of 500 amps or more. That's 6000+ watts or about 3 times your stove. Your ring will be glowing in just a few seconds and you will be tearing so hard at the ring you'll remove chunks of your own finger. I had a teacher whose finger was much thinner than it should have been due to this.

[–]symbioticrebellion 0 points1 point ago

Above the thinkgeek link

good buy

Lol see ya

[–]recneps100 0 points1 point ago

Might get hot and burn you? You leave your finger in that for a bit, and when you take it off you'll take off your skin too.

[–]My_fifth_account 0 points1 point ago

I bet used ones are cheap.

[–]Techwood111 56 points57 points ago

I would gladly put one of these on and plug it in. I'm willing to bet that I would not receive any shock at all. And, no, I'm not talking about any sort of trickery.

I could make a mock-up of the ring and make a video... anyone interested?

[–]Mephistopheles_XIII 19 points20 points ago

It wouldn't shock you, but the ring would heat up, most likely enough to give you a decent burn.

[–]Techwood111 22 points23 points ago

No, it wouldn't. You know not that of which you speak.

[–]up_the_brackett 39 points40 points ago

The second you but the ring in the outlet the breaker or fuse would blow/trip and the circuit would be dead.

[–]ICSP 18 points19 points ago

Even if the breaker doesn't cut the circuit, it still won't heat up. When you have a short circuit, the first parts that start heating up are the ones with the lowest thermal resistance, and in this case, because the ring is so thick, wires in the wall will simply melt before the ring even reaches uncomfortable temperature.

Edit: Accidentally physics.

[–]Techwood111 1 point2 points ago

DING DING DING! We have a winner! Yes, there'd be a large arc when the second prong of the plug first contacts, but I believe that the electromotive potential would be lost primarily there and to a lesser extent throughout the run of copper. The large ring wouldn't have time to heat up. While there may be a very brief "tickle," I just can't fathom much beyond that.

[–]ryanistheryan 6 points7 points ago

Your making the assumption the breaker will trip at this point correct?

[–]Techwood111 1 point2 points ago

It'll trip in very short order, yes.

[–]MoldyMoose 2 points3 points ago

Unless the ring is trolling the fuck out of you with a 6 watt power resistor...

[–]ibrokeadickonce 0 points1 point ago

Would be great to add in materials with better thermal conductivity as well

[–]joeanon 0 points1 point ago

The poles touch the metal of the ring. It's going to conduct one way or another.

[–]MoldyMoose 0 points1 point ago

True, but I think it's possible to make it look really close without letting them touch.

[–]Zorak 2 points3 points ago

FTFY: No, it shouldn't.

[–]uncommitted 0 points1 point ago

There needs to be resistance for it to burn. This wouldn't burn.

[–]Hansarn 3 points4 points ago

Sure, I've got some time to kill. Do it.

[–]DownvoteAttractor 1 point2 points ago

If you contact the non-earthed contact first, and you aren't wearing shoes, you will likely die.

[–]Techwood111 0 points1 point ago

lol

[–]bds0688 3 points4 points ago

You'd get a beautiful scar. Do it.

[–]Selffaw 1 point2 points ago

Do it, do it

[–]Douchexmachina 25 points26 points ago

Electricity tends to take the path of least resistance, e.g. the metal between the contacts. Your finger would be fine.

[–]Nyxian 4 points5 points ago

And very burnt.

[–]dopafiend 21 points22 points ago

The breaker would trip immediately, the ring would barely warm up at all.

[–]kharmakazy 8 points9 points ago

not all of us have breakers. I have fuses. My fuses are either wrapped in foil or are actually nails standing in for fuses. Safety first!

[–]haldean 23 points24 points ago

This is bad and you should feel bad.

[–]orost 12 points13 points ago

Have fun dying in a fire.

[–]ObeeJuan 2 points3 points ago

I hope you're joking. If you have too much current draw from one of those circuits, your wiring WILL catch on fire. And I'm going to assume all of your smoke detectors have dead batteries too, so if it happens at night you'll most likely burn to death. Spend a few bucks on new fuses, or get your panel upgraded with breakers. It's really not a matter of IF your wiring will catch fire, but when. Circuit interrupt devices are there for a reason. There are a lot of ways electricity can kill you.

[–]uncommitted 0 points1 point ago

False. The ring has more mass, less resistance, than either the breaker or the wires within the wall. I'd doubt anything would be felt at all.

I'm assuming the ring is made from a well conducting material. If it was made from a poorly conducting material, well then yes... you would receive a nice burn.

[–]EmoTurtlePervyDragon 8 points9 points ago

I don't think it's a ring for suicide. Every time I see this I see matching couple rings, like one has the prongs while the other has the outlet plug :l even if I'm wrong it's still a neat idea for a ring set.

[–]geft 2 points3 points ago

Why would anybody want symbolism when they have the real thing?

[–]Journalisto 10 points11 points ago

That's funny. Wearing my wedding ring for five years makes me want to commit suicide.

[–]feralcatromance 7 points8 points ago

Your wife is a lucky woman.

[–]corpseflower 3 points4 points ago

How do you know its a man? Don't women ever regret marriage?

/s in case you couldn't tell.

[–]fetusxfajita 2 points3 points ago

there are no girls on the internet

[–]tibbodeaux 11 points12 points ago

I am glad it is polarized for safety.

[–]Tundrun 17 points18 points ago

I'm sure whoever proposes will be quite ecstatic.

[–]jeffiguritout 17 points18 points ago

Actually...I think they'll just be dead.

[–]Glittertitties 3 points4 points ago

I am quite shocked at how small it is.

[–]aesamattki 3 points4 points ago

That's watt she said.

[–]OmfgTim 0 points1 point ago

And it hertz every time

[–]sexyhamster89 1 point2 points ago

hah, static

[–]BrowsOfSteel 0 points1 point ago

Except that we’re dealing with electric flux here, not static electricity.

[–]Raymond_Carver 1 point2 points ago

You'd have to be in the bath tub for that thing to really work.

[–]thegoatlord 3 points4 points ago

That would just burn you

[–]killroy901 0 points1 point ago

Some people just want to watch their fingers burn

[–]Neonnimrod 3 points4 points ago

Wonder Twin powers, ACTIVATE! "Form of: DEAD GUY!"

[–]Master2u 4 points5 points ago

I would be tempted to try it, but I am not suicidal.

[–]RadicalP 13 points14 points ago

Currently alternating making this purchase.

[–]NotSpartacus 23 points24 points ago

AC what you did there.

[–]awkward_person_here 4 points5 points ago

Ohm my God, that was bad. Watt made you tell that joke?

[–]LukeA71 0 points1 point ago

Tesla Ring! Sweet!

Dies.

[–]moviefreak11 2 points3 points ago

in most of Europe this wouldn't even fit in an outlet

[–]Danez 1 point2 points ago

Should have been my wedding ring, AMIRIGHT GUYS?

[–]ent4rent 2 points3 points ago

WONDER TWIN POWERS ACTIVBZZZZZZTT..

[–]onejdc 4 points5 points ago

Clicked, expecting to see a wedding ring. This one definitely amps up the process.

[–]bomojago 1 point2 points ago

I would not be able to wear this without sticking it in an outlet

[–]coffeecraig 0 points1 point ago

Or the gift for those 'hard to buy for' people in our lives...

[–]CharlieTango 0 points1 point ago

ya, 120volts will burn your finger pretty bad and you'll short the circuit but it definitely wouldnt kill you

[–]neo7 0 points1 point ago

Even with 230 volts (in Europe)..

[–]thedarkdragon89 0 points1 point ago

I've checked with electricians (my friends grandpa owns a company), unless your using non-grounded wires, the breakers will trip and nothing will happen to you other than a bite you'll never forget, so in retrospect this is useless, guns and knifes are more effective.

[–]Verdris 1 point2 points ago

Depends on the resistance of the ring. If the impedance is high enough, it will be treated as a normal load by the breakers and conduct just fine, probably heating up a great deal and causing other problems.

[–]ObeeJuan 0 points1 point ago

If the ring is made of metal normally used for jewelry, it's going to have VERY low resistance. It would be similar to taking a piece of heavy wire and just shorting the outlet. It would almost certainly pop the breaker, but I wouldn't try it.

[–]thedarkdragon89 0 points1 point ago

Well that's true, I'm just going off what I've been told, I'm no electrician.

[–]iswearihaveajob 2 points3 points ago

wont work. repost...etc

[–]monty477178 0 points1 point ago

I would not be able to wear this without sticking it in an outlet.

[–]kv0nza 0 points1 point ago

That's a sneaky way to get linkbacks. EDIT: http://userfriendly.alwaysdata.net/beryls.html wtf am i looking at

[–]datboi1d 1 point2 points ago

That can't possibly kill you, just a mere shock

[–]OilySalmon 1 point2 points ago

The fistbump of a lifetime.

[–]hyascopy 0 points1 point ago

Sounds tempting.

[–]Dragon_Whiskers 1 point2 points ago

Well I bet the couple just felt a spark

[–]BatmansNygma 0 points1 point ago

I'll take 2,000

[–]LoneWave 0 points1 point ago

Electricity would be a terrible way to go .

I'd rather OD , or drown .

[–]IonBeam2 -1 points0 points ago

That wouldn't kill you.

[–]LuckyDuck77 0 points1 point ago

HAAAAAAAHAHAHA... good.

[–]gtwy 0 points1 point ago

Breaker would blow before you got more than a second worth of a zap

[–]danzor9755 0 points1 point ago

The power is YOURS!

[–]spoonybard326 0 points1 point ago

Does it come in a European version?

[–]Techdestro 0 points1 point ago

in Sweden out of stock

[–]Shyviolet 0 points1 point ago

I'm way too optimistic. It took me a good moment to figure out that the ring wasn't meant to help people reconsider or get help.

[–]moojah 0 points1 point ago

I once tried to light a tea light candle on an electric fire and got an electric shock. I was on acid at the time, so it was distinctly unpleasant.

[–]DigitalCyndaquil 0 points1 point ago

Firstly, it would not give you any kind of shock as the electricity will choose the easier path, through the metal. Secondly, it would not burn you, as the power would trip out before it could heat up. Thirdly, it is not even meant to be plugged in to the mains.

[–]ObeeJuan 0 points1 point ago

This would fit into any power outlet in the US.

[–]DigitalCyndaquil 0 points1 point ago

I didn't say it wouldn't fit, I said that is not the purpose for it. This has been reposted many times, and one of the times before someone gave a link that showed what it is actually used for.

[–]TubbyOmnivore 1 point2 points ago

Well if I wanted to kill myself, falcon punching a socket would be a pretty cool way to die.

[–]escalate_it_to_11 0 points1 point ago

I thought you were linking too a ring of hope

[–]FuuuuuManChu 0 points1 point ago

breaker is gonna blow youll probably have some burn around the finger

[–]tSOMP 0 points1 point ago

is there any way i can get me one?

[–]Guvmentcheeze63 1 point2 points ago

I have a cock ring just like that.

[–]anon_y_moose 0 points1 point ago

works best with one on each hand and jumper cables attached from the rings (left then right prong) to corresponding testicles

[–]joeanon 0 points1 point ago

The ring can't be plugged into both poles or it blows the circuit before it kills you.

[–]anon_y_moose 0 points1 point ago

I understand how household fuses work, this is clearly not made to be taken seriously.

[–]andrew1421lee 0 points1 point ago

I didn't subscribe for this...

[–]Hypothalamasalata 0 points1 point ago

A cock ring?

[–]fountainsoda 0 points1 point ago

This dude would appreciate a tester bulb on the ring.

[–]bakuretsu 0 points1 point ago

Cue the discussion about why this wouldn't work, which takes place every time this photo is posted, giving all of the electrician and EE lurkers a chance to flex their nerd muscles.

[–]Unicorn_Rapest 0 points1 point ago

get one of those things that has multiple plugs on it and get like 8 of these then possibly something will happen :)

[–]potatodavid 0 points1 point ago

I was going to say, it'll get hot and you'll pop the breaker more than likely but kill you? Not likely.

[–]Offensive_Brute 0 points1 point ago

need to make one that plugs into a 220.

[–]TheThrasherAsh 0 points1 point ago

I have an urge to put my penis in that...

[–]ironwire 0 points1 point ago

if it fits then by all means go for it

http://imgur.com/a/yID7E This is what happened when my dad did something similar. He was working on the battery pack of our electric car and didn't put on gloves because it was just a quick fix. The wrench connected the first and last battery from our pack of 12 12v batteries in series. Melted the ring to the wrench, burned his hand and melted a couple of battery terminals.

He got lucky. Usually when a ring takes current, the finger is lost. Burns straight to the bone in an instant.

Wouldn't work, circuit breaker would trip.

Current would flow from the active and split. Part would travel back through the neutral terminal, and part through your core to earth.

Your breaker would trip in a few tens of milliseconds, and your RCD (earth leakage detector) would trip after that. This would leave a short burst of energy through your arm and spreading through your core. Your muscles in your arm and torso would involuntarily contract which would pull the ring out the socket within a couple of hundred milliseconds. You might experience cardiac arhythmia, shooting pains, falling on your arse, and aches for several days afterwards in both the arm and the arse.

You'd very likely survive, and it would be a hell of a rush.

I've actually touched a live wire with a fingertip without tripping the breaker or RCD, your involuntary reflex is really good at getting you the fuck out of there, but it does hurt.

It's fucking 120 V.

I eat 120 V for breakfast.

Seriously, though. The only way you'd die with 120 V at such a low amperage is if you were standing in water.

Internationally, though, with 240 V (e.g. the UK)? Maybe a little more dangerous.

Not in Orstrailya, bloke.

unless there is no circuit protection that will do nothing. AT ALL. Not even get hot. I am an electrician.

FYI If you use the word electrocuted it means you DIED, not got shocked. Just sayin

i just need to get this onto grandma's hand somehow
