It started out as a circlejerk. A circlejerk that jerks counter to what the reddit circlejerk jerks.

I agree with SRS, and I'm not at all a humorless person. I laugh at 4chan un-PC jokes, as original as that is. But it's only thoughtful to not just see the humor of a joke, but to also see the joke in the context of social reality, to see the effect jokes have on people. If you have fun at someone else's expense, it's at least good to understand that.

So I'm really glad you know that using the word "bitch" is a disagreeable thing to do. You've been taught the word "bitch", so you label people with it. But ask yourself, is it a good and necessary word for us to have?

After all, using original definitions we can call everyone who has oral sex perverts and sodomites. We can call anti-racist activists nigger-lovers. Both would be technically true. However, the terminology we use affects our thoughts, so we should choose it carefully.

I'm a serious man. I'm not angry, I'm not fascist, I'm not a victim of any sort. I think we would all be better off if we dropped gendered insults from our language, since gender roles constrain us all, and some of us more than others.

I don't expect everyone to agree - and I expect assholes to be assholes. But I do think that nice and thoughtful people will hear this message out, and won't see paragraphs of my considered thoughts as mere butthurt.
