Am I the only one with a cat that isn't a complete Dick? He never scratches or bites or even hisses at me. Unless I need to bathe him for fleas. But other than that, he's chill as fuck. In fact I've only ever come across one mean cat in my life. All the rest were either too scared to come out, or really chill.

This made me sad. My cat, 2 years old, did this all the time. Yesterday, he didn't come back in at night. I went outside. His fur, everywhere, no sign of him anywhere. I searched like crazy (live near woods/mountain), but no sign of him. Too much fur, so I realized something got him. He was gone.

I thought that and was wondering if anyone here agreed. If this is a dominance play for cats (and I've had dogs do this) is it okay to encourage this behavior or does it have subtle consequences?

I actually get to place my hand on top of my cat's paw when he's in a good enough mood and hold it there. Most of the time we do this dance however. No claws tho.
