it looked like there were enchanting bubbles that other people could see like the other potions. also it probably has a time limit, so it might only help in the end and nether so enderman and pigmen don't see you. that would be more help in survivor than smp.

"hey are you sure no one's around?"

"yeah, just me you and those green bubbles in the corner there"

[–]DrPepsi199[S] -4 points-3 points ago

No enchanting bubbles with splash potions, and drink potions i think.

[–]CendeuCendeu 4 points5 points ago

Wait, what do you mean? Bubbles exist, but you said they don't exist with the only 2 potions types there are?

Plenty of drink potions have bubbles.

[–]DrPepsi199[S] -2 points-1 points ago

I'm saying there is no bubbles with invisibility potions.

[–]StumpyGoblin 0 points1 point ago

There certainly is, they have a green/teal tinge to them.

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 0 points1 point ago

no. If there are bubbles it means that the server is sending player position information to the client. The server isn't sending ANY info to the client, otherwise it would be too easy to override with about 5 minutes of work in the code. That's why we can't see armor. No armor, no bubbles, no info sent. It will be like the admins are right now.

[–]StumpyGoblin 0 points1 point ago

No, because we can see armour. We can see held items, worn armour and bubbles (bubbles within 15 blocks).

Scroll to invisibility potion.

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 0 points1 point ago

That's only in single player. jeb doesn't want it to be too easy to override with hacked clients, so he made it so you can't see anything in multiplayer.

[–]StumpyGoblin 0 points1 point ago

That's one of the worst decisions Mojang have made in a very, very long time.

[–]1011X 1 point2 points ago

It's not like that matters; to prevent hacked clients from showing the player where invisible players are, Jeb is making it so that the server doesn't give away the person's location.

That means no visible armor, bubbles, or items.

[–]bigbigpure1 6 points7 points ago

this will end well.

[–]pixelseverywhereIlyv 4 points5 points ago

I guess you can still see potion bubbles.

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 0 points1 point ago

you can't. The server isn't sending ANY position info to the client.

[–]Irishreddawg 0 points1 point ago

you a word

[–]DrPepsi199[S] 5 points6 points ago

The Thieves Guild would love this

[–]DarkTiribusSoontoodark 12 points13 points ago

The ability to stand around and wait for someone then follow them back to their secret base is what makes me worry about this. I think this will be a terrible addition to this server.

[–]rouge_shooter101 20 points21 points ago

This is one thing i would go for disabling on this server

[–]AnticPositionAnticPosition 1 point2 points ago

:O

[–]WaterproofCowBrickman13 4 points5 points ago

Maybe you could get a simple mod to make them harder to create? Or make the duration much shorter? I think they are very cool, but they can be a bit too dangerous.... maybe they don't work aboveground or something? Sunlight disables them?

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 2 points3 points ago

Nothing's too hard to create. This is minecraft. anything is achievable in 4-5 hours of play.

[–]Kracus 0 points1 point ago

I'm not worried. I have to go through several sets of doors to get to my base. I'd notice blocks breaking behind me or switches being hit.

[–]OmenPrimeOmenPrime 3 points4 points ago

This doesn't make armour invisible btw.

[–]DrPepsi199[S] 6 points7 points ago

You won't need armor when you're invisible..

[–]OmenPrimeOmenPrime 6 points7 points ago

items being held aren't invisible either. The only thing this would be good for is getting in/out of a place and a get away. I don't see why this would be a problem.

[–]DrPepsi199[S] 0 points1 point ago

You can just keep an empty space on your hotbar next to your sword

[–]OmenPrimeOmenPrime 6 points7 points ago

Yes I realise that. But unless there is an open route into a base the invisible person(s) would not go unnoticed and they would be unarmoured. Seems balanced enough for me.

[–]Stiggy1605 1 point2 points ago

Or they can wait until you open the base door, and then suddenly a sword comes out of nowhere and kills you before you have time to react. Then they won't need to be stealthy about getting in to the base. Or, watch you enter, then wait for you to go offline or leave before ransacking the place.

[–]Humble_harpdarp 0 points1 point ago

Ah. That seems balanced then, no armor, nothing in hand, and you still have bubbles over your head? Actually, this seems like a actually pretty good addition now, adds more interesting ways to stalk people, and a new level of caution that the multiplayer gameplay could use. I can see some really fun ambushes using this and tripwires.

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 0 points1 point ago

no bubbles, armor is invisible, and items are invisible. Jeb_ had to do it so people won't be able to override it client-side.

[–]SsslouterSsslouter 0 points1 point ago

In multiplayer it does. The server isn't sending ANY info to the client. It will be like the admins are right now.

[–]x2hawkDoublegawk 0 points1 point ago

Oh god I love using that site as often as I can

[–]poltergeist07 2 points3 points ago

As OmenPrime said, armor and held items are visible; in addition, while invisible you still make noise (like footsteps), and you emit particles like with any other potion. So if you pay attention, it's really not that hard to spot an "invisible" person.

[–]Humble_harpdarp 1 point2 points ago

This is one of the worst ideas the dev team have had since the enchanting system... No, this wont be good at all, unless severely nerfed and with a long cool down. Good thing of its too bad, the admins can just get rid of it.

[–]IzzeriIzze 2 points3 points ago

I don't understand why so many are complaining. If you don't want to be followed by an invisible person, become invisible yourself. I think this adds a lot to the game. You have to be careful to survive. And it has a time limit, and you see particles, so it's not full invisibility. And you can't wear armor, so it's a one hit kill if you spot someone.

[–]CendeuCendeu 1 point2 points ago

Let's just hope they work like invisi potions on Terraria. You can still see armor (and weapons/tools being used) so they'd have to be armorless.

[–]stasguy 2 points3 points ago

You can still see armor, as well as any item they are holding. Also, you can see potion particle effects around them and if they move, you can see walking particles below them.

[–]CendeuCendeu 1 point2 points ago

Well then this isn't bad at all.

To be at all hidden, the person would have to be really weak. You'd hear them if they dug or anything, so they'd have keep quiet and still when you're near them.

If you do get in a fight with an invisible person, you can still see their weapon/bubbles, and if they aren't wearing armor, then you'll kill them in 2-3 blows.

I think they are interesting, and I'd love to see how people use them... but I don't think they'll be "overpowered" at all.

[–]EsplodingBombEsplodingBomb 0 points1 point ago

It's probably going to nerfed quite a lot. I would like quick bursts of invisibility.

[–]fullautorevolver 0 points1 point ago

[–]KrimsonTide 1 point2 points ago

That's fucking ridiculous. They should be disabled from the server. It would just make It harder to defend your base from attack
