I heard nothing of the plans to become a dry campus and I want to be an engineer so...

Sounds like RPI XD

Wait...so it wasn't dry and now it is?! That shit still happens?! What the literal fuck.

Because people abuse alcohol and schools don't want to be responsible.

...it's not the school's fault, nor is it the school's responsibility. Do people really believe it is? College students are going to drink--end of story. You won't prevent it by declaring a dry campus.

No but parents believe it the school's responsibility. I was an Emt on a college campus for four years and it was a huge issue with minors drinking. Parents blame the school for not having RAs watching their kids. Schools don't like being threatened with lawsuits so they blanket themselves.

But the school isn't legally responsible anyway, is it? An RA isn't a parent, their role isn't to make sure that their residents are following all the rules all the time. Just because parents believe something doesn't make it true. It irks me to no end that organizations cave to this sort of inane pressure.
