Always happy to turn someone on to Red Dwarf. The first six seasons are bona fide classics, with the odd stinker episode. I love season 7, but I'm in the minority. Season 8 had terrible stories, but at least some great jokes. The show is coming back later this year, and we'll see if it can recapture its former glory.

It's been quite a while since I saw it. But it is quite surreal and darker than the series was. As I understand it, it was quite influenced by Bladerunner. It also contains some ingeniously hilarious parts that are so typical of Red Dwarf.

I would recommend you see it, without expecting it to be as good as the series. (And all this reminiscing is actually making me want to see it again). :D
