Nah dog. Classics majors are the best kinds of Christians. It means that they respect other beliefs and can handle non-Christians (i.e., godless pagans) responsibly. They're usually ridiculously tolerant and love different viewpoints. He should be alright.

i dont disagree. except for the fact that while i currently have a single female friend staying here until she finds a permanent place to live, he's not "allowed" by order of people within his specific faith-based group to stay in the house while she is here. among many other things that make me "wtf. of course it's nothing personal...but..its their "rules".

discuss away!

edit: granted his not specifically him (he's a cool dude and very hospitable), but such organization he belongs to that makes things the way they are for him. and still makes me wonder that why such a smart person who also teaches and has elders in his community look up to him for his knowledge, does he still choose to be a member of such community.

Oh. When you said 'devout Christian" you meant "cult member." If he's really cool, then get him out. Making him atheist may be too hard, but you can try to get him to switch to a less crazy denomination. Christ. Can't share a house with a woman. That's ridiculous.
