I've been doing a lot of half-hearted research and plotting out where funny pictures originate and where they end up. You'll be happy to know that it's almost always reddit, however 4chan comes in second best, closely followed by someone with a private Facebook account and an Internet-savvy friend that'll pick it up and post it online. From reddit, you'll almost always see the picture on 9gag a day or two later (along with the exact title of the reddit submission), and if it's popular on 9gag it'll be posted on their Facebook page. This is around the same time that wimp.com either features it on the website or just posts it on the Facebook page; wimp.com is cool so I don't have an issue with it, but it's still part of the circle of lifeee. After it hits Facebook all hell breaks loose, it'll be posted on 9gag a couple more times and — at the same time — it'll make its rounds through the circlejerky Facebook Pages (the 'Brock Obama' page, the unofficial 4chan Facebook pages.etc) which'll cause it to be re-uploaded almost five million times on Facebook and reddit slowpokes (none of it gets past /new, reposts are fine but not a few days after the 'original' is posted). After it's made its rounds on Facebook the administrators of the Pages we all 'Liked' or 'Became a Fan' of in 2009 will pick it up and post it everywhere, this'll usually result in a loss of 'Likes' on said pages, many bitch fits are had.

After that the meme will die for a while, until someone gets lucky on reddit and the repost reaches the front page, and it all starts again.
