Non-Fiction New King James version

[–]Grasswalker 0 points1 point ago

Knights of r/new have failed me, allowing this repost.

Not quite right. To be fair, a bible reduced to its non-fiction content would have some few entries:

  • Exodus: Pharaoh ruled over Egypt
  • Ezekiel: Nebuchadnezar besieged the city of Tyre
  • Matthew: Herodes was King over Judea
  • Rear page: Printed in China

Perhaps I missed some minor additional points, but basically thats all non-fictional content in the bible.

The Roman Empire really existed and did extend to Jerusalem.

But yeah, christians who cite a few verifiable historical facts as proof of the bible's accuracy is about as meaningful as saying "Wolf 359 is a real star system therefore the Federation really did lose a battle to the Borg there".

That is where the Messiah, Benjamin Sisko, lost his wife and thus began his journey to defeat the Pah Wraiths and save the souls of the Bajorans! Praise be to the Sisko!

Didn't Thomas Jefferson already do something like this?

That is only half true, jesus still existed and preached, he just preached bullshit.
