I was once like you, a year back. I didn't watch a lot of TV for a long stint, mainly because I was in Korea for a bit. When I came back, I didn't really have time to watch TV anyways. But then within the constant chatter of the people I surrounded myself with, keywords kept flying threw the air. Breaking Bad. Arrested Development. How I Met Your Mother. Community. The names kept flying, and at equal speeds references to things I didn't understand.

So I made a list, I downloaded these TV shows that seemed to put such a smile on my friend's faces. I'd keep them locked away for when I was ready, on some drull evening. And then it came. I'd watch the first episode of a series. Let's say Breaking Bad. I was intrigued by the premise, watching the first episode had got me curiouser and curiouser, until the episode ended. And so I watched another, and another. Hours became days, and soon I caught up within a week. I thought, "No.. this couldn't be.. there must be more.." And then I remembered.

More.. hidden away in some forgotten folder was episode beyond episode of shows I'd never heard of. Community was actually my most recent one, where I held off for a while, but after watching the first episode, then the second episode, I had never laughed so hard in the longest while. Episode after episode, I couldn't stop. But now look at me. I've got nothing. I wait a week for a new episode of some show, but after that I'm empty.

I tell you now, nay, warn you. These TV shows are evil. They contain the powers to possess you, and take over everything you believe in. But at the same time, these shows.. watching them.. I could never imagine a parallel universe where one version of me has never seen them, and if that version of me does exist, I would feel the utmost sorrow for him. I would combine the power of all other universes where I exist, to create a wormhole to this version of me, and force him to watch just one episode of one series, and watch as the darkness takes over him.

tl;dr You are missing out, and should at least try the first episode of each of those series. You will at least enjoy one or two of them, if not all.
