A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

This is pretty much what I would do if I caught fire in the street.

[–]Saicotic 107 points108 points ago

Hug your gun and fire like there's no tomorrow.

[–]ChocElite 77 points78 points ago

No, try as hard as possible to fire one right into my eeye and end it.

[–]Saicotic 50 points51 points ago

And fail miserably.

[–]afrosheen 14 points15 points ago

I'm crying thanks to you.

[–]Saicotic 32 points33 points ago

I'm sorry. Maybe you should aim better next time.

[–]PunkPenguin 12 points13 points ago

I......I think I love you.

[–]Saicotic 3 points4 points ago

Never hit your target. That's all I ask, my sweet.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]derrida_n_shit 24 points25 points ago

He's gotta fight fire with fire......I'll show my way out...

[–]AppleChiaki 12 points13 points ago

No stay, take a seat.

Do you like balls?

[–]UVladBro 17 points18 points ago

Yeah, got to shoot that fire off you.

[–]ONXwat 10 points11 points ago

Wasnt there some guy in the states who was so stuck on not calling 911 that he literally shot at the fire when his house was on fire?

http://anguishedrepose.com/2011/01/30/man-shoots-at-home-in-attempt-to-put-out-house-fire-seriously/

YUP.

[–]CuriousMidget 5 points6 points ago

...What did he expect?

[–]Jaromero435 4 points5 points ago

To kill the fire

[–]Jakabov 3 points4 points ago

Fight fire with (gun)fire.

[–]ONXwat 1 point2 points ago

Fight fire with firearms.

[–]meancommentredditor 1 point2 points ago

Had to make sure you would stop and drop.

[–]Atomic235 4 points5 points ago

On a semi-related note, has anyone else ever hit another car so hard that the occupants just instantly burst into flames?

[–]Paclac 1 point2 points ago

Nope, but that sounds pretty fun. The only thing I've managed to do is hit a car so hard all the passengers died instantly.

[–]WrethZ 0 points1 point ago

I always figured they dropped a cigarette or something.

[–]Intelligicity 234 points235 points ago

Got into a gun fight with cops, as you motherfucking do in GTA, and this cop with a shotgun was running, tripped over his feet, his hands somehow put the gun at an angle that pointed the gun at his face. He unloaded a shell and he was done. Absolutely laid himself out. Never forgot the image of it.

[–]Anti_Craic 75 points76 points ago

Well shit, now Niko has a felony-murder charge. The man can't catch a break.

[–]MyUsualNamesAreTaken 148 points149 points ago

No it's okay, because he went into his apartment and took a nap.

[–]Lots42 44 points45 points ago

No, he had his car repainted.

[–]M3HITRP 2 points3 points ago

Did you see Out of Sight?

[–]Traniz 54 points55 points ago

I hope GTAV doesn't have traction control on the cars, and a better transmission physics. Change gear you red line fuck!

[–]iFaRtRaINb0WZzz 31 points32 points ago

And a cockpit view

[–]bitterweasel 19 points20 points ago

And first person view while walking around

[–]compromised_account 10 points11 points ago

damn boys, thats some sweet suggestions.

[–]felpz123 9 points10 points ago

mods. its already done.

[–]compromised_account 0 points1 point ago

yah? they gunna let the public mod it right away? thatd be so sweet.

[–]TheFNG -2 points-1 points ago

I recall skyrim having mods hours within its release. This one should be no exception with the huge modding community GTA is known for.

[–]Dracosphinx -1 points0 points ago

Look at what happened to Battlefield though... When Bad Company came out, there was no modding community anymore.

[–]james_aguilar 0 points1 point ago

TIL what happened to one game will automatically happen to all games.

[–]Brodellsky 4 points5 points ago

I'm just hoping they will make the manual cars manual, and the automatics automatic. Something simple which would only further increase the immersion. Make it happen, Rockstar.

[–]Castigar2000 53 points54 points ago

Ugh, no. Keep in mind this is a game in which you will be asked to engage in high-speed chases around shifting obstacles while simultaneously hitting moving targets from the driver's window with an SMG. Fuck throwing shifting into the mix. Optional, maybe, but forcing the player to shift gears would be an unnecessary annoyance.

Automatic transmission is the #1 reason I prefer The Simpsons: Road Rage over Crazy Taxi. And that's just sad.

Besides, you don't get immersion driving in a video game without a steering wheel and pedals, and for that you need to be playing a racing game.

[–]davidhooper89 2 points3 points ago

Besides, you don't get immersion driving in a video game without a steering wheel and pedals, and for that you need to be playing a racing game.

Also a stick shifter.

With standard controls for console controllers it takes way too much time to click down through 5 gears plus neutral to go from 5th to reverse. This control style ignores the idea of a clutch.

A stick shift is a shift out of gear, maybe left or center or right, and into another gear. At most three quick movements in one fluid motion.

Forza 3 has a clutch button/pedal and it rocks. It would just be too complex to control with all the shooting and crashing and evading that goes on in GTA games.

[–]NeedsAGoodUsername 1 point2 points ago

Just skip the cars that are not automatic.

[–]MangoScango 51 points52 points ago

"Niko! Drive! We gotta go!"

"I can't drive stick!!"

I smell a sitcom.

[–]Spud740 2 points3 points ago

Or a clever way to get someone else to drive for once

[–]BrandenKP 1 point2 points ago

Damnit ryder, if you wanted to drive, just drive the damn car already. I can shoot better anyways.

[–]Castigar2000 0 points1 point ago

There's also a lot of situations in which I'm barely escaping the cops, take a corner too sharply, do a barrel roll, flip my car over and need to quickly grab the first vehicle I can find.

I'd REALLY like for this to be optional.

[–]SirRonaldofBurgundy 1 point2 points ago

Everyone prefers Road Rage to Crazy Taxi. Everyone.

[–]Blehgopie -1 points0 points ago

I have no idea how to drive manual, in real-life, or in-game.

[–]polarisdelta 1 point2 points ago

Are there enough buttons on a controller to make that happen? I thought every button on a PS3/360 controller was already assigned to something. And wouldn't that make shooting while driving a huge pain in the ass?

[–]Kniepic 1 point2 points ago

You ask for a less realistic driving experience....then ask for a more realistic transmission...wut.

[–]Traniz 0 points1 point ago

Dukes with traction control?

Now that is a real wut.

Disabling traction control is unrealistic to you?

[–]maxhan -3 points-2 points ago

The biggest fault I find with gta IV was the feel of handling.

[–]DoubleMatt1 21 points22 points ago

I love GTA IV's physics engine (I forget what its called if anyone call tell me thanks)

[–]Saintdemon 18 points19 points ago

Euphoria = The physics engine. RAGE = The game engine.

[–]army_economist 4 points5 points ago

Euphoria is the thing controlling how the AI reacts to it's environment, it's not the physics engine. It could be used as a physics engine but it GTA doesn't use it for stuff like cars driving, crashing, explosions etc since it's pretty weak in those areas

[–]D_Steve595 1 point2 points ago

Nope, the physics is just a part of RAGE. Euphoria just handles the ragdolls with "life" that stumble, flail, and stuff.

[–]Blaster395 1 point2 points ago

Euphoria is really quite neat, apart from that occational weird bug where Niko would spend about 20 seconds stumbling backwards as if he just had his right leg snapped in half (Probably to the ragdoll, that is what happened).

[–]leodavin843 0 points1 point ago

Don't you love that swingset of flight?

[–]Blaster395 0 points1 point ago

I like to think they deliberately left that one in because its so fun.

[–]Pickled_Pankake 4 points5 points ago

You can mess around with the endorphin engine, which is essentially the same thing as the euphoria engine but used for cgi instead of physics engines. It's pretty easy to get the hang of and loads of fun once you learn how to do things with it.

[–]Maticus 4 points5 points ago

RAGE Engine I do believe, with some middle-ware like Euphoria.

[–]Daved400 2 points3 points ago

Rockstar Advanced Game Engine. Yep.

[–]radioheady 1 point2 points ago

Not sure about GTA IV, but RDR used Bullet physics

[–]ONXwat 19 points20 points ago

It's even better in the ballad of gay tony with the semi auto explosive shotgun. Somehow, it turns full auto and you randomly spew death everywhere

[–]Magnon 10 points11 points ago

The AA12 does shoot quite fast though. 360 rounds per minute, empties in 3 seconds for a normal 20 magazine.

[–]ONXwat 4 points5 points ago

Oh yes i am well aware that when the game goes full auto AA12 it's much closer to the real thing than normal fire, but in the game it's a fairly slow fire rate.

[–]Magnon 3 points4 points ago

It's really slow when you're in cover, when you're not in cover it shoots pretty fast. Maybe not as fast as real life, but pretty damn fast.

[–]ONXwat 1 point2 points ago

hah, when you're in cover, you pump it. it's hilarious.

[–]SirRonaldofBurgundy 1 point2 points ago

Hey, they're not just gonna come up with a new shotgun-in-cover animation just for realism's sake. They got shit to do, man!

[–]radioheady 2 points3 points ago

I think they tried to balance it out from TLAD shotgun, which you could empty in seconds

[–]ONXwat 0 points1 point ago

Well, fuck. I just realised, i don't even have TLAD.

Maybe i should pick that up...

[–]apollo84 121 points122 points ago

i hope so too, especially how the vehicles handled. i don't care what the haters say the driving in that game was amazing. i hate that arcady shit people like. arcady driving physics pretty much ruins games for me.

[–]KatzMotel 17 points18 points ago

Too right! Blasting down the highway with maximum traffic density, in the wrong lane, in this bad boy was like one of the most exciting things ever.

[–]Suitablystoned 1 point2 points ago

Yuuuuup

[–]EternalAssasin 0 points1 point ago

Get friends and a black SUV. Then go on a highway chase with half the people in a car and the other half in the SUV.

[–]SecondDerivative 10 points11 points ago

I liked that there was a learning curve to the cars/city in GTA IV. I still remember getting really frustrated for the first few hours when driving, because I was impatient and just tried to go as fast as possible. I'd always miss turns or slam into the corners of buildings. By the end of my third play through, I was happily pulling off handbreak turns and weaving through dense traffic to get to wherever I was going, sans GPS. That sense of satisfaction from slowly gaining a skill is absent in a lot of games these days, or presented in the form of "upgrades" where the game dictates your progression.

[–]annul 8 points9 points ago

i bought taxis everywhere.

[–]emperor_of_the_world 1 point2 points ago

Why buy them just call Roman.

[–]Packers91 10 points11 points ago

because then you have to listen to Roman

[–]emperor_of_the_world 0 points1 point ago

Can't argue with that, but it is free.

[–]boilerrat 1 point2 points ago

And you have to wait for his vehicle.

[–]mr_sardonicus 5 points6 points ago

But then you'll have to tell him you don't want to go bowling. Awkward silence time

[–]BlackFallout 39 points40 points ago

Yea! The driving was fucking epic! I hate the driving in Saints Row 3 because I feel like I'm driving an RC car instead of a car.

[–]apollo84 25 points26 points ago

oh don't get me started on sr3, sr2 was great but i hated sr3 for so so many reasons. but i agree gta iv driving was truely amazing, it bugs me when people say it sucks.

[–]McRodo 28 points29 points ago

That's because they want to floor the accelerator and do turns while never breaking. GTAIV Driving took some time to get used to but once you did you could pull some totally awesome stunts.

[–]amcvega 11 points12 points ago

Braking was completely necessary. Took me a while to get used to using the handbrake to corner but once I did it works incredibly.

[–]soilednapkin 14 points15 points ago

And when you get it right it's so amazing. Racing down a highway slamming those brakes. Turning in, cranking that handbreak. Powering sliding into a small alley way between 2 cop cars with bullets flying everywhere.

Dat feeeel.

[–]Suitablystoned 5 points6 points ago

mmmmmmmmmmmmm

[–]haev 2 points3 points ago

yissssssssssss

[–]moofdivr 1 point2 points ago

And its far more impressive/fun to pull of crazy stuff.

[–]amcvega 1 point2 points ago

Definitely, when you drift around a corner and go in between two people and a car without touching anything. So smooth.

[–]hayuata 0 points1 point ago

Learning vehicle dynamics will save your life. So many times I survived by a hair at the airport by doing stupid moves but while in control.

[–]apollo84 0 points1 point ago

exactly!

[–]nepidae 7 points8 points ago

I loved the driving in SR3, I also liked the driving in GTA4

[–]1corn 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, I think driving was totally ok in SR3. Better than older GTAs, though not as good as GTA IV.

[–]dan2737 2 points3 points ago

The driving in SR3 was OK, I didn't mind it's flaws because I always used helicopters/jets.

[–]nepidae 2 points3 points ago

Actually the flight in SR3 was really good. GTA flight (for me) was the height of frustration.

[–]applejacks_hat 1 point2 points ago

Especially on PC with a mouse and keyboard. I got a cramp doing that helicopter fight with the yacht on TBoGT.

[–]cumfarts 0 points1 point ago

You can use the fastest motorcycle in the game and never let go of the accelerator. Just using the handbrake for 90* turns

[–]nivoo_boss 0 points1 point ago

Same here. Can't really play SR3 because of the goddamn fucked up driving. Tried Sleeping Dogs today - a bit better but still shit compared to GTA IV. GTA IV and Mafia II have the best driving in recent games, IMHO. As they require some skill, you know.

[–]fuZZe 4 points5 points ago

Speaking of bad car handling in popular games, does anyone else think the handling in JC2 is absolute shit? It's like driving a fish...

[–]SirRonaldofBurgundy 3 points4 points ago

True. I think they just put cars in that game as an afterthought. I mean why drive a car when there's a perfectly nice fighter jet right across the street?

[–]cy_sperling 0 points1 point ago

If you are driving around on the ground in Just Cause 2, aren't you kind of doing it wrong? Mass-murderer-infinite-parachute-spiderman doesn't need damn cars...

[–]fuZZe 0 points1 point ago

Unless you're doing the race challenges. I dug up an old save file from over a year ago, and only just noticed the crappy handling trying to complete all the challenges. 99.12% complete, 0.88% to go, and nothing left on the map.

[–]cy_sperling 0 points1 point ago

good point

[–]apollo84 0 points1 point ago

yea i agree, if they fixed the handling driving would have been so much better. i enjoyed driving in the game but it almost seemed like they put a setting on to high. i like how you can flip down hills and pieces fly off but it is pretty bad, everything else was great in that game though. motorcycles were really bad too, you should never have the camera lean with the car or bike when driving it should be set flat.

[–]zeromadcowz 14 points15 points ago

Exactly, I couldn't stand SR3 driving, but I loved the sliding of cars in GTAIV

[–]Pauer 19 points20 points ago

My problem with GTA4 driving was that weight contributed to poor handling, but not to traction. ESPECIALLY offroad.

[–]admisaok 15 points16 points ago

Since when does grass=ice?

[–]GeneralBS 2 points3 points ago

Have you ever driven on grass with a rear wheel drive car?

[–]Pauer 4 points5 points ago

It applied to front wheel and all wheel within the game. The transmission doesn't have anything to do with it.

[–]Suitablystoned 1 point2 points ago

the only front wheel is the blista anyways, all others are rear wheel.

[–]GeneralBS 0 points1 point ago

You really have no clue on how a drive train functions do you? Transmission has nothing to do with the whole subject anyways.

[–]Pauer 0 points1 point ago

You're an idiot, I'm saying all of the cars in this game slide on grass. How about you think next time before you say dumb shit like that. You're the only person who didn't comprehend what I said.

[–]GeneralBS -1 points0 points ago

I'm talking about in real life

[–]Pauer 3 points4 points ago

I'm aware, and it doesn't apply to the discussion because in real life, front wheel and 4-wheel drive works relatively well on grass, whereas in the game none of them do.

[–]GeneralBS 0 points1 point ago

Aren't all the cars in the game rear wheel drive?

[–]Pauer 7 points8 points ago

No, there are front, rear, and all. Flip some cars over and check which wheels rev when you press the gas, that's how I figured it out.

[–]frstv 2 points3 points ago

RWD in GTAIV seemed more common than in real life (at least to me), but there were definitely some FWD cars (the Prius one comes to mind)

[–]I_like_mangoes 4 points5 points ago

The one thing about SR3 driving that I absolutely love is the drift button. I find myself starting the game up and just drifting around the city in a ridiculous looking car.

It was a nice touch to just completely replace e-brake with a drift button.

[–]apollo84 6 points7 points ago

yea i hated sr3 as a whole, it was a huge downgrade compared to sr2. i loved how realistic gta iv was, everything about the driving was amazing, sure the cars seemed slower but thats how it is, you can't go 0 to 60 in 1 second with any car in real life.

[–]c0wg0d 3 points4 points ago

I liked how the vehicles handled in GTA IV also, but FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD, make the camera behave how it did in GTA3/VC/SA. Every time I make a sharp turn, I can't see where the fuck I'm going.

[–]cy_sperling 0 points1 point ago

could stand for the camera to be a bit higher as well... It works for the sense of speed, but I hate that the faster the car is, the lower the camera gets.

[–]let_them_burn 3 points4 points ago

I loved the driving in GTAIV. The physics along with the the damage model made the driving one of the most memorable parts of that game for me. The only thing I would want to be different is more variation from car to car and more accurate damage. It would be cool to lose an entire wheel or have your car start over heating.

And I want the option to shift gears

[–]apollo84 0 points1 point ago

i think the damage was excellent, compared to racing games it wasn't but i think its the best in a sandbox series. jc2 more pieces flew off but the damage didn't look real.

[–]let_them_burn 0 points1 point ago

agreed. I think the damage in GTAIV was visually perfect, but it was far off on the mechanical side. But I think that is because of the audience the game is directed at. Most GTAIV don't care about realistic mechanical damage, especially when their car dies out 10 seconds into a chase.

[–]Confuzet 1 point2 points ago

Yeah I love that it takes skill to control a car in gta4.

[–]superatheist95 4 points5 points ago

They handled like arcade cars......horribly.

[–]Locrin -1 points0 points ago

The cars did in fact not handle realisticly at all. They all handled like they were being driven on an icy road in the middle of winter. Those who have not driven a car in real life can compare with Forza or GT-series for accuracy when it comes to how much traction a car gets on asphalt in the summer. Even with low pressure on the gas and low speed I would slide out in intersections when going left or right.

[–]apollo84 0 points1 point ago

okay since you want to be contrary just to be contrary, gta iv handled more realistically compared to any other sandbox game. there that was easy, i figured someone would be smart enough to get that.

[–]Foot_of_fleet 10 points11 points ago

Stop, drop, roll and fire away.

[–]Whats_That_Game 97 points98 points ago

Grand Theft Auto IV

Relevant Subreddits: /r/gta, /r/rockstar

[–]WorldEnd2012 6 points7 points ago

I gotta buy this game once 100% done with Sleeping Dogs, I'm in love open world games now.

[–]brawr 8 points9 points ago

you would like Just Cause 2

[–]thetrumpetplayer 1 point2 points ago

Red dead redemption as well?

[–]WorldEnd2012 0 points1 point ago

Mmyeah, I've played that some, but I prefer PC over console, so I never got really far in it. Also the game (Rockstar Games really) shut down my first YouTube channel cause I uploaded videos of the game.

I'd easily play it non-stop if released on PC as some point.

[–]MalekTaktak 2 points3 points ago

That's not the spirit, Red Dead Redemption really is worth the sacrifice !

[–]akif34 0 points1 point ago

Also get saints row 3. Play with cheats if you just want to play for fun. Most fun game since GTA IV release imho

[–]WorldEnd2012 2 points3 points ago

I've already played that alot in coop. Even if i play for fun, I don't do cheats. Almost want to play thru the game again, to get all achievements, and get 100%. I'll probably do that.

[–]soilednapkin 1 point2 points ago

I think GTA4 was when I knuckled down and tried to beat a game without cheats. Probably the most rewarding gaming experience. Taught me to get into a story.

[–]kaydub88 0 points1 point ago

I had to beat Vice City without cheats because if I used them and saved, my games would corrupt. What I did instead was grab all the secret packages so I would have weapons spawn all the time where I knew I could get them for free. That magnum handgun was the best, and you only needed like 20-40 packages to get it plus a bulletproof vest.

So, I just got used to it and didn't use cheats in GTA4 either.

[–]soilednapkin 0 points1 point ago

I never played Vice City :(

[–]flassanah 4 points5 points ago

stop drop and shoot

[–]PinballWizrd 1 point2 points ago

I can't tell if your being serious or not, but I always loved when my character did that.

[–]TuranTort 3 points4 points ago

It's like when Mr Garrison was fighting Mr Hat

[–]Khuskan 4 points5 points ago

You know, I hope you're not being sarcastic because I managed to get myself killed on three separate occasions by wiping out the last guy of a group of enemies only for his gun to bounce off the ground and head-shot me and I didn't feel cheated once.

Though I also play Dwarf Fortress so I am a video game sadomasochist.

[–]Blaster395 1 point2 points ago

Yes, dwarf fortress, the game where depending on the version someone could throw a worm straight through your skull.

Also that weird glitch that once existed where rain would cause your character to melt.

[–]Poggalogg 1 point2 points ago

Or burning all the fat off your body made you fireproof.

[–]JamesIreland 14 points15 points ago

Well, the engine wasn't quite finished with GTA IV but Red Dead Redemption showed off a refined and perfected version and it was brilliant. I really hope Rockstar have built on it for V.

[–]army_economist 0 points1 point ago

They didn't build the Euphoria engine, it's made by another company and Rockstar took it and customized it for their own games

http://www.naturalmotion.com/

[–]sixtyfivedays -1 points0 points ago

Euphoria isn't the game engine. RAGE is.

[–]phreeck 2 points3 points ago

That's assuming that James wasn't talking about the physics and animation stuff.

Seeing as how he is replying to OP, something that clearly is about the physics aspect, then he is probably just using the wrong term or, like many, doesn't actually know that Euphoria is involved and is third party stuff.

[–]army_economist 0 points1 point ago

True, I know it's only the engine for some physics but mostly just AI interaction. Slip of the tongue, or keyboard

I'm happy that I got corrected though, with the amount of times I've explained this to friends and others at least I see there's others who took the interest and learned about it

I started following Euphoria because of the force unleashed, which kept touting it and DMM in all it's press releases and ads, but hilariously that game's euphoria was completely outdone by Rockstar when rockstar hardly even mentioned in it's ads that they had advanced the AI

[–]tdkingcobra 5 points6 points ago

Fighting fire with fire...power

[–]Im_licking_cats 5 points6 points ago

YEEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

[–]Roaven 2 points3 points ago

Walk up to a cop car with an AK Plant foot on hood Unload into windshield

[–]WateryPenisButter 2 points3 points ago

I really wish you could accidentally blow your brains out doing that. You could kill others but it's kinda rare and you could only blow yourself up if you had an RPG.

[–]OhBlackWater 2 points3 points ago

This fire is bullet proof!!

[–]Eal12333 1 point2 points ago

What I REALLY want them to change in V is the walking, if i want to turn around I dont need to walk forward and make a big circle first. I couldn't tell you how many times that killed me.

[–]TheAdamantArchvile 3 points4 points ago

Oh God! Your M4 has a mind of its own!

[–]SirRonaldofBurgundy -2 points-1 points ago

its

[–]barney1610 0 points1 point ago

"Hey Niko, it's your cousin. You want to go bowling?" "No Roman, I'd rather shoot myself in the FUCKING FACE!!"

[–]Chaotropic 1 point2 points ago

If you look closely you can see that he's concealing another flaming car behind the camera which is why he caught fire.

[–]R-One-Oh-Seven 1 point2 points ago

one of the only things i enjoyed about gta4 was the ragdoll style mechanics xD so damn funny !

[–]darklooshkin 1 point2 points ago

He shot himself in the face?

[–]HumanistGeek 1 point2 points ago

That happens in GTA IV?

[–]killaudio66 1 point2 points ago

It looked like his gun was out of control and he was trying to wrestle it

[–]Symbolis 1 point2 points ago

Sleeping Dogs is doing a pretty good job of keeping me entertained, much to my surprise.

Still looking forward to the next GTA, though.

[–]NarcissisticNerd 1 point2 points ago

I just want to be able to drift (better) in the cars.

If I'm going down, I'm taking as many of you motherfuckers with me as I can.

Looks like his gun set him on fire and we witnessed his struggle to keep it from shooting him in the face.

Sentient guns - not even once.

I once saw an AI helicopter crash into a building and then into 2 fucking cop cars where it then exploded. So epic and yet so stupid

Since this is sort of a GTA:IV general thread now, I was wondering if maybe someone could help me find a video. It made it to the front page of /r/gaming a long time ago, but I didn't save it at the time. Basically it was Nico getting into a fight some guy on the street, and he hits him just right so that he falls and snaps his neck on the side of a car. The physical humor in it was astounding.

The jet from the recent screenshot had better be flyable.

But I don't wanna control like a potato sack full of cottage cheese.

I just realised getting drunk and being on fire in GTA have similar movements.

The random moments are the most memorable of the GTA series. My friend was playing San Andreas, and is driving along the train tracks. He gets out to try and chase down a motorcycle, but it's too far away, so he returns to his car and gets in.

The second his body is in the car, a speeding train sheers off the door without even moving the rest of the car. The train came from behind so we didn't even hear it or see it. Scared the hell out of us before we laughed hysterically for a long while.
