I used to work on a till in a big local supermarket, every Saturday morning when I started at 7am I had a customer with the same condition, not as bad facially but still very effected and he couldn't talk very clearly. After a few weeks he became a regular to my checkout and he always put the money on the counter instead of my hand and I asked him why, he said "most workers don't like me touching them" I replied with "don't be silly, sir" and held out my hand to shake his and his face lit up and he shook my hand nervously. until I stopped working on the tills he would come to me every Saturday and we'd have a good chat about each other.
