I just moved to Oregon from Florida and just realized there's not a single one of those fuckers in this entire STATE.

When I pass by it now in the mall, I look inside and see how many people are in there. I figure that everyone who is eating in there knows about the recent news/scandal. I smile a little bit when I see that only a handful of people are there and they're all older.

To be honest, i dont think its fair to hate a whole corporate structure because of one man, especially when the majority of workers dont share his beliefs.

Do you realize your flimsy argument means that no company should ever be boycotted? Nobody's advocating a hunger strike. The money will flow to other fast food restaurants that will need to be staffed.

Also, source your "majority" claim.

Are you kidding me? What makes you believe the staff shares the same feelings about people being gay. Why the hell are the opinions of the owner relevant to customers and the staff? I can understand not wanting to spend your money there because you want to be a responsible consumer and wants to control where your money will go to. But there is no reason to believe the staff hold the same anti-gay beliefs.

Do you think their application forms said :"Anti-gay bigots only"?

Snake117 claimed a majority of CfA workers don't share Dan Cathy's beliefs. I find that hard to believe.

A majority of the people in the states where CfA operates are against gay marriage. (In many cases, more than 2/3 in order to pass state constitution amendments banning it.) There is no reason to believe employees of CfA are more progressive than their surroundings, especially when the company's business practices are overtly Christian.

Extraordinary claims like snake117's require proof.

You can find a chick fil a in every state, im not saying all employees are tolerant, but i think its fair to say that most of them just want to do their job and get a paycheck. If i were an employee, it wouldnt be my job to tell you my opinion on it, therefore while im on the job it doesnt matter what i think of it. My only job is to give you your chicken.

thats what hitlers gestapo said too

[–]snake117 0 points1 point ago

What? And thanks for getting on my ass about documentation by the way. You essentially just made the opposite to my claim that most employees are tolerant, then after your little rant, you failed to show any proof. Hypocritical much?

I just stumbled on this post to do a bit of trolling, but I see you have beat me here... ON TO OTHER POSTS!!!

[–]TyleReddit 2 points3 points ago

I found myself doing this yesterday as I drove by a papa john's.

[–]drunkenwaffle 2 points3 points ago

Damn, I loved The Wire.

[–]davefromdallas 1 point2 points ago

Soooo, just tossing this out there... if the Head Chicken farmer guy for Chick Fil-A catches two chickens scissoring, do they process them... or do they get tossed aside? This could be a great avenue to investigate if I were a chicken. Could be life saving...

Today my after taking my dog to the animal hospital (She wasn't eating), she asked where I wanted to eat. I said Sonic or Chicken Express, the only other options besides Chick Fil A, but she said she wanted to go there. Not wanting to tell my mom I was against their principles (I haven't told her I'm atheist), I ate there. All I could think while eating a chicken sandwich was that bigotry never tasted so good.

Hi I'm an American, I'm completely unaware that most of the companies that breast feed me my products 1 engage in regular unethical behavior, 2 have staunch political stances, 3 aggressively seek to have their interests and opinions served. I IGNORE this for convenience, because where else can I get sponges, cereal, and a broom all in one place? BUT, every now and then one honestly and openly spoon feeds me their stance. This requires NO RESEARCH on my part, no action, it's as easy as joining a bandwagon and I feel like I'm helping! I almost forgot to mention, the stance of a chicken restaurant on gay marriage couldn't be a less important issue, be you gay, republican, transgender, whatever. There's a plethora of more critical issues, pressing and potentially solvable. 1 example, while people are taking sides over gay chicken, they forget that nearly 3,000 people die annually from unclean food! That's a yearly 9-11 happening on your plate, if that isn't irony I don't know what is. But that's an issue that would require some activism, sacrifice, knowledge, and it isn't sexy enough for mainstream media, so fuck it. At least I'm contributing by feeding the intentions of my political caretakers, empowering interests that should be ignored, and clogging avenues of meaningful discourse!

Hi, I'm batboylives, and I don't understand boycotts.

Learning about what every company does and then individually choosing whether you agree with it accomplishes nothing. A boycott is choosing one company that is easy to stay away from and publicizing it to enough other people to cause a dent.

[–]Batboylives 2 points3 points ago

I understand boycotts, and their costs, and publicity stunts as well. I apologize that the CONSTANT mention between papa johns, oreos, and chic fil-a has me considering the priorities and intelligence of our citizens.

edit: I personally am more offended that they are saying anything at all, above what they have to say. Shut up and make the cookies, no one asked you to weigh in on anything else. Same thing with Tebow. You throw a ball around, shut up, no one asked what you think about the large hadron collider asshole.

[–]KarmaAddict[S] 4 points5 points ago

in a country built on consumerism, the biggest way of changing things is where you spend you money.

[–]maysque 1 point2 points ago

Yea but the point is that the majority of people wait for scandals to happen before they take a look at what companies are doing.

[–]09112001 -1 points0 points ago

Lies, you go in and order 10 meals

[–]Dom9360 0 points1 point ago
