I feel like this cuts both ways. I mean, if you've been convinced by a conspiracy that is false you're in the same boat.

fuck yeah, nice quote

Here is a video that you guys might also enjoy. It was this video that led me to believe that that clemens was Luciferian and that he was probably a Freemason.

The link you posted to shares NOTHING but the title of Twain's novel.

The link you posted to wasn't written by Twain.

The link you posted to makes Twain a character. And you are taking this character to be the actual Samuel Clemens?

If Abraham Lincoln showed up in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, should I presume it's the equivalent of the real Abraham Lincoln?

EDIT: Seriously, I would like an answer to these questions. Is there some information about yourself you're not telling us? Do you have a brain injury from Iraq? Do you really take that cartoon to be the actual work of Mark Twain?

[–]gaums -1 points0 points ago

The link I posted is a snippet of the claymation The Adventures of Mark Twain. Whether the film is an actual representation of Clemens ideas and thoughts is not up to me to decide as I have only read only one book of his. I have done some cursory research about Clemens and I did find that Clemens was a Freemason.

About the film. I do not take it as an actual work of Clemens. I take it more as an adaption for kids with a wide range of his works to make it more appealing for younger viewers. I enjoyed the film and this scene particularly.

Now, your questions.

Seriously, I would like an answer to these questions. Is there some information about yourself you're not telling us? Yes, there is a lot of information about myself I am not disclosing, but that goes without saying. I think what you were trying to say, and correct me if I am wrong, was if had some hidden agenda.

No, I dont really have a hidden agenda. I just thought that this subreddit might enjoy the clip.

Do you have a brain injury from Iraq?

No, I do not have a brain injury of any kind. (Accoring, to the best of my knowledge.)

Do you really take that cartoon to be the actual work of Mark Twain?

No, I dont. Like I said, I took it more of an amalgamation of his works, as a sampler of his ideas.

Pardon me, just pointing out your bullshit.

[–]gaums 0 points1 point ago

Uhm, what bullshit?

[–]DeathToUnicorns 0 points1 point ago

You know next to nothing about one of the most easily researched men in American history... Yet you speak as if you do know what you're talking about.

[–]gaums 0 points1 point ago

I explicitly said that I dont know a lot about this man. Specifically so that peole dont think Im some kind of expert. What I said in the first was MY opinion which you can dismiss if you like.

But Clemens was a Freemason.

[–]AlwaysOpenMinded[S] 0 points1 point ago

At least HE doesn't sound arrogant.

[–]PlacentaJuanXI° Illuminatus 1 point2 points ago

Just two more reasons why Twain was awesome.

[–]unbornmonster 4 points5 points ago

I wish people would stop downvoting every theory that gets posted. If you feel a need to downvote, please explain why. this is how /r/conspiracy works.

[–]AlwaysOpenMinded[S] -2 points-1 points ago

Absolutely right. +1 for you, and gaums. :) Some only like theories, if it fits their perspectives, otherwise they throw them out, or at least don't give them a deserving look. Whether or not they're true, theories are theories for the reason of speculating. Couldn't agree more. Cheers.

EDIT: I +1ed you too halobob98, and placentajuan, no worries. ;)

[–]unbornmonster 2 points3 points ago

The same goes for the upvotes. If you're interested in a post, comment, or theory please upvote. If you give any info for or against, you get an upvote. It keeps us learning together.

[–]AlwaysOpenMinded[S] 2 points3 points ago

Cheers. :) Reddit only continues to impress me with the number of truly open minds (yes, i know its my name, forget that for a moment please) that exist on these forums. Everyday i find another post (typically many) that offers hope in the chaos we call this world.

[–]Necronomiconomics 1 point2 points ago

"The Mysterious Stranger" (the link you posted to) was Twain's final novel, a cautionary tale about the seductive nature of Satan, and the chaos evil causes. You should read it instead of mischaracterizing it. Maybe I should call The Book of Job in the Bible a "pro-Lucifer" book, since Satan pays a visit to God in Heaven and they seem to be friendly pals.

[–]TacoSalad33Tempus Fugit 1 point2 points ago

Sure and no.

The book was never finished. There are ultimately three versions unfinished. The story seems to be playing on morality and the choice of right and wrong. Something Mark Twain regarded as the "moral sense", a disastrous thing that separated us from the rest of the animal kingdom.

Yes the main character is named Satan but he makes sure to note that he is not the Satan as mentioned in the bible but he is an Angel and Satan is an angel name after all. Something like naming your child Jesus or Adolf. This character goes on to manipulate those he meets on his travels, but not with deceit; more so with the intent of putting on a show. A form of awaking the audience to the disasters of the moral sense and the societal norms this ability has on us and our civilization. Satan in this story knows about this and takes advantage of the feeble minded towns folk. In my opinion it was Twain's first attempt at a horror novel. He might not have ever finished it because of his own self conflict with the very same sense.

[–]xarlev 0 points1 point ago

nice quote, but why is the same picture used for every single Twain quote?

[–]FemaCampDirectorMove along citizen. 4 points5 points ago

There's only so many portraits and never the twain shall meet.

[–]Necronomiconomics 2 points3 points ago

Here, have a nice photo of Twain with Tesla in Tesla's lab. Twain was a big fan of Nikola Tesla & visited him.
