That's not how the story goes.

The story says that humans were created with out sin and that sin comes into the world though human disobedience to God's will.

Of course the fact that humans were 'innocent' (i.e. could not know the difference between right and wrong) and the sin was that they aquired the ability to know right and wrong is a bit of a non-starter.

That plus the fact that the God put the source of their 'down-fall' within arms reach -- what ever happened to child proofing the house YHWY?

Yeah, it was a set up. But do try to get the story right. Otherwise believers will just laugh at you.
