"I prefer kind atheists over hateful Christians." That's all the sign really says. When believers speak on god's thoughts, they just describe their own.

[–]StreetSpirit127 7 points8 points ago

It's odd that there are numerous sects of the same religion that proclaim entirely different things, damning different people to hell, and all going to the same heaven. Morality is defined by cultures, not from a mythical "God."

[–]PriscillaPresley 31 points32 points ago

I'm sure you do, but your book doesn't.

[–]RickSHAW_Tom 6 points7 points ago

Depends what part you're reading.

[–]mtnjon 11 points12 points ago

Still a case of claiming to know god's thoughts. So, no.

[–]7hyobnogard -2 points-1 points ago

its an educated guess by what God would think if he does exist

[–]CrayonOfDoom 0 points1 point ago

Which oddly happens to almost always coincide with the thoughts of whoever makes the claim/educated guess.

[–]andr0medam31 10 points11 points ago

It's a nice thought, but according to Xtians, we're still damned to hell either way.

[–]BobtheDino96 3 points4 points ago

Reposts they keep coming.

GOD HATES REPOSTS

[–]washmaster 2 points3 points ago

1 Timothy 5:9 (New American Standard Bible) "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

[–]magicmagininja 0 points1 point ago

so if one hates his family, he is worse than an atheist, basically.

Another fake church sign image. Can't we just stop the church signs altogether?

[–]Rixxali 0 points1 point ago

This one happens to be real, though I agree, most of the church signs are fake. (I live near this church, and I have a picture I took of their sign where it says, "We support the separation of church and hate.")

[–]ShooterGirl 1 point2 points ago

Alright, I just have that attitude towards them in general seeing as there are so many of them that are indeed fake, as you say.

I have actually never comprehended that it's so popular to write savvy quotes. Where I live they usually just write out times and dates for sermons.

[–]Rixxali 0 points1 point ago

I don't like all the fake church signs either. If they are not real, it's not funny.

I wonder if the real ones are regional thing - many churches around here have sayings all the time. I always suspected that they get some newsletter or something with "clever" messages to use.

[–]Graviteh 0 points1 point ago

you know these are generated images and/or reposted billions of times right?

[–]Rixxali 1 point2 points ago

Not generated, it's real, but yes, reposted billions of times.

[–]gerkessin 0 points1 point ago

This was "meh" the first time I saw it. This has to be the fifth or sixth, and it isnt improving. Can we please downvote this away forever?

[–]snake117 0 points1 point ago

This is one of few churches i wouldnt mind going to. fuck the bible though.

[–]Aerspasius 0 points1 point ago

"God's preference" is just whoever made the signs preference, It's all just projection at least thats the way I see it.

[–]MrB1ond3 0 points1 point ago

i never browse r/christianity, but I highly doubt an atheist posting there would get any kind of welcome such as a christian posting in r/atheism. But, then again I've never been there. Thanks for sharing.

[–]kontankarite 0 points1 point ago

Dude. I deny Jesus Christ all the time... well, at least intellectually or if I'm prompted to. So I'm curious. Despite how nice I might be; what scripture actually endorses this message because as great as it sounds, it does sound like a lie anyway.
