but it is wrong. Anyone with basic spacial recognition skills will notice that when the ball enters the interior, it changes faces behind the shape, twice. The end two passes are animated in the wrong order.

I think this might be a Moebius band or strip or plane or [word for 3-dimensional Moebius thing]. Means it only has one side. An easy way to model this is to take a short piece of tape, twist it, and stick one end onto the other end. You can trace your finger over it, tracing every surface, until you get back where you started.

Even if I'm wrong, the tape thing still works.

Its similar, but a true Mobius object can only be made with one less dimension than that which you are in. Thus, this three dimensional one has a physical impossibility (which happens when the ball is hidden behind the object). You'd need a fourth dimension to actually make a 3-d Mobius strip, or whatever you want to call it.
