Surely the one where every flat surface isn't likely to give you radiation poisoning.

[–]Cerus 289 points290 points ago

The trick to surviving in the Elder Scrolls universe is apparently to become an important part of someone else's quest.

[–]rolfv 107 points108 points ago

That and Quickload.

[–]KazumaKat 34 points35 points ago

There's actual in-universe lore to support such. No TL;DR, trust me, its worth the read. Nothing comes close to caressing the fourth wall as much as TES lore.

[–]Kman778 5 points6 points ago

CHIM!

[–]kn0ck 2 points3 points ago

I just wanted to thank you generously for providing this link, it was a tremendously interesting thing to read, because I spend more time reading books in the TES games than actually playing the games themselves.

[–]Corrosivecoke 2 points3 points ago

Or just be inside any building ever

[–]Kman778 2 points3 points ago

If you can learn the secret of CHIM, you can achieve Godhood like Tiber Peptim or Vivec, plus in fallout it seems like you would die of radiation poisoning really fast. Elder Scrolls you can at least move to the Colovians and live a comfortable life as a necromancer lord up in the highlands. Plus I still know where i hid my modded in guns/lightsabers on Vvanderfell, although they where probably destroyed along with red mountain (if we're going by the Skyrim era timeline) :/

[–]AllMustSuffer 1 point2 points ago

Nah, the trick is to be someone's guard, anywhere. Take that arrow to the knee and claim immortality!

[–]TheAmazingMart 208 points209 points ago

so giant spiders that roam freely and the constant danger of being devoured by a dragon?

[–]Khosan 642 points643 points ago

I'd rather have a reliable source of food and drinkable water with dragons than no food, no water and the threat of super mutants and deathclaws.

[–]TheAmazingMart 346 points347 points ago

i suppose, plus magic would be super cool

[–]xXDGFXx 199 points200 points ago

And dual-wielding, oooooo.

[–]JayGatsby727 91 points92 points ago

I'm imagining being someone who magically switches between worlds, and suddenly having your off-hand cramp up in the Fallout world, forcing you to drop whatever 2nd weapon you had.

[–]3brushie 164 points165 points ago

That Pip-Boy is heavy as fuck.

[–]Msj2705 9 points10 points ago

Well, lead was a common material used in most everything during the world war II period to reduce costs...

[–]Renbail 18 points19 points ago

So Skyrim then?

[–]Tabmow 26 points27 points ago

Magic is the deciding factor. I can shoot guns at shit IRL, I can't summon demons, shoot fireballs, or kill someone with my voice. Easy choice. Also, books.

[–]BornOnFeb2nd 19 points20 points ago

You're assuming you'll be Dova, or even a mage. You might wind up as NPC 3 bitching about rats eating your crops.

[–]Tabmow 36 points37 points ago

With my luck, I'd be the crops.

[–]cryingeyes 10 points11 points ago

Flamethrowers, plasma rifles, power armor, mr. Fisto, robot companions, aliens, drugs, cyborg implants, and if you're looking for a food supply...pretty sure the wasteland has a reliable source of meat in the form of bandits.

[–]timms5000 38 points39 points ago

though chances are unless you happen to be a high elf, dark elf, or breton you're going to get shit on. Plus everybody except the heroes have very specific destinies defined by the gods. Only certain individuals get the potential ability to shape their role in the world like the player characters.

tl;dr you would end up as a peasant. stil better than fall out though.

[–]1fromUK 56 points57 points ago

Especially if you ended up as a kid, being invincible sure would have it's perks (assuming you don't live forever).

[–]generally_competent 23 points24 points ago

Actually Dark elves would get shit on a lot. Depending where you are from other races wouldn't be that bad, Argonians in Black Marsh in particular are having a much better time.

Also, assuming you retain your knowledge you have now, just the amount you know puts you at least in the position of a scholar. Maybe even someone who has power too.

[–]timms5000 7 points8 points ago

i included dark elves because they are likely to have access to some magic. Obviously things aren't going for them well racially.

[–]kingbot 4 points5 points ago

I guess this would be the main difference between the two, in fallout, you're not governed by fate, only choices and actions. Where in elderscrolls, you're guided by the gods.

[–]Ragnalypse 5 points6 points ago

Skyrim hasn't even invented gunpowder yet, you could easily make a name for yourself with a little future knowledge, become a "court engineer" or something.

The steam turbine would be a relatively easy task. Storing the energy wouldn't, but making steam turn an axle would be.

[–]st0567 16 points17 points ago

The dwarf ruins sure look like they already knew about steam

[–]montugar 1 point2 points ago

and natural gas powered machines. Got blown up a couple time in those ruins from my companion shooting fireballs

[–]HSMOM 50 points51 points ago

And everything is filthy because aparently no one knows how to pick up newspaper after 200 years.

[–]leprechauns_scrotum 41 points42 points ago

At least they are not hidden under a tonne of cheese.

[–]Mendozozoza 76 points77 points ago

Realistically, I'd live and work in a city. Frostbite spiders and dragons would be far from my mind. I'd be more concerned about what the fuck the Thalmor are up to.

[–]_Wolfos 50 points51 points ago

Not to mention, dragons are pussies compared to deathclaws.

[–]Lord_of_Womba 6 points7 points ago

I'd agree with you up until ancient dragons and above (2 higher dragons are added with Dawnguard)

[–]LeonardNemoysHead 9 points10 points ago

And then die when some asshole dragon whisperer sacks your city.

[–]ali_421 41 points42 points ago

Giant scorpions and big things with sharp claws in every water source?

[–]Invader-grr 44 points45 points ago

Deathclaws don't forget the deathclaws and shouldn't it be the elder scrolls universe not the skyrim universe

[–]AshuraSpeakman 72 points73 points ago

Any die-hard Elder Scrolls fan can point out the dozens of things that makes Skyrim different from the rest of the series. Possibly while frothing at the mouth.

[–]Invader-grr 2 points3 points ago

Or anyone whose played more than one TES game with skyrim being one it's an opinion I personally like oblivion alot better than skyrim

[–]UnD34d_Do0d 4 points5 points ago

No because the fallout games are all in different times and places so are the elder scroll games so if it was just one game it would be skyrim or fonv oblivion or fo3

[–]aviatorzack 22 points23 points ago

I would become a dragon tamer, because they told me I could be anything.

[–]AzuraBlitz 19 points20 points ago

I wouldn't be afraid of dragons. The nice merchant down the road is always ready to defend us.

[–]ShinInuko 13 points14 points ago

Being quickly (albeit brutally) killed by a dragon or giant spider, or being slowly, painfully dying of radiation poisoning, and also giant fucking arachnids. And Deathclaws, which are basically wingless dragons without magic throats.

[–]TwistedOneOfFate 1 point2 points ago

We all know that Future > Medieval world

[–]DaFitz 3 points4 points ago

of course, it would be a much more exciting experience

[–]MintBerryCaurunch 87 points88 points ago

I would choose the one with food that won't kill me due to radiation poisioning.

However on the other hand, I wouldn't want to get shitfucked by dragons either.

[–]Lansan1ty 87 points88 points ago

Easy solution; the "Skyrim universe" is the Elder Scrolls universe; just move out of Skyrim, no dragon problem. Move back in once you hear rumors of a Dragonborn killing the dragons.

[–]meleecow 56 points57 points ago

What if you are the Dragonborn?

[–]Lansan1ty 82 points83 points ago

The dragons would win because I would be busy doing quests for the Thieves guild.

Unless the universe was completely equivalent to the game counterpart; in which case by me not continuing the quest, nothing terrible would happen (except for random dragon attacks on towns every here and there)

[–]AManHasSpoken 29 points30 points ago

And you just don't know it yet?

[–]Biomilk 10 points11 points ago

Just hide in a house, they have some pretty impressive fireproofing.

[–]slayer_of_potatoes 441 points442 points ago

So...would I rather live in a world which is kinda like our world, except everything I like has been blown up, or a world where I can have magical powers?

[–]Y0urMom 536 points537 points ago

Not everyone has the aptitude for magic though. If you do though you should visit the mage's college in Winterhold.

[–]JRadical21 236 points237 points ago

You could check with the court wizard. He has spells and incantations for those with the talent to cast them.

[–]ColossalJuggernaut 130 points131 points ago

You should check out the College of Winterhold if you are the spell casting type.

[–]Highlighter_Freedom 114 points115 points ago

I trained at the Bard's College in Solitude. Wandering types like you should think about applying.

[–]SlasherKittyCat 55 points56 points ago

Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic!

[–]VindictiveRakk 2 points3 points ago

Apart from the fact that you only need apprentice spells.

[–]moonphoenix 62 points63 points ago

Magic is for the weak.. Elves I mean.. There is a college in Winterhold, They know their places at least.. and there is Farengar, Jarl's wizard at least he's a nord

[–]I_am_salad 17 points18 points ago

Conjure me up a warm bed?

[–]kev0ut 64 points65 points ago

You could always just go to Dragonsreach to discuss the ongoing hostilities like the rest of the great warriors

[–]Black_Diamond 12 points13 points ago

It's seems this damnable thread has consumed everyone's passions as of late. Me? I prefer my books... and my spells.

[–]LOOKITSADAM 17 points18 points ago

You could alwaysh jusht go to Dragonshreach to dishcuss the ongoing hoshtilities like the rest of the great warriors?

[–]CakeSmasher 57 points58 points ago

But...prostitution...and lasers...

[–]DeNovoHope 34 points35 points ago

Prostition?

[–]Engineer3227 52 points53 points ago

I don't think I'd wanna touch any of the irradiated prostitutes in a post apocalyptic setting.

Much rather go with normal women in a medieval/fantasy world.

[–]Merew 26 points27 points ago

Why go after the normal ones?

[–]GenericHighschoolKid 96 points97 points ago

Yeah guys, let's go bone some Khajiits and maybe a few Lusty Argonian Maids.

[–]CptOblivion 20 points21 points ago

What, so "normal" is human? That's ra- er, species-ist!

[–]Lord_of_Womba 35 points36 points ago

Actually "racist" would make much more sense in the Elder Scrolls Universe (where there are different humonoid races) than it does in reality (with darker/lighter skin tones).

[–]CptOblivion 11 points12 points ago

I guess the real question is if they can interbreed. If they're not genetically compatible, they're species, not races. I've not seen any mention of hybrids in TES (say, half argonian, half redguard, or something) so I'm inclined to assume they're species that just happen to have a similar form factor.

[–]Cheimon 13 points14 points ago

There's a book that discusses it that trains restoration. Apparently you're much less likely to have children, more likely to abandon the child, and more likely to hide the child.

However, the text speculates that Bretons, for example, are elf-men, while reachmen are more manly bretons. So hybrids do exist, however rare they are.

[–]Merew 8 points9 points ago

There's an orc that's half imperial and half orc in Oblivion. Outside of that, there's Notes on Racial Phylogeny which says that they just don't know.

[–]Maelstrom52 55 points56 points ago

I think you're confusing how fun the GAME Fallout is, with whether or not you would actually want to live in a post-apocalyptic nightmarish hellscape, where every minute is LITERALLY a fight for survival.

[–]Revoker 8 points9 points ago

pipboy

I want a pipboy, that with rad-x/rad away and your fine

[–]SomeNoveltyAccount 19 points20 points ago

Yeah Deathclaws are totally scared of rad-x.

[–]Mistervodka 6 points7 points ago

I just started Fallout 3 and I've been hearing so much about these Deathclaws. With a name and reputation like that, I can't fucking wait to see one.

That being said, fuck living there. At least fuck living there when Tamriel is an option.

[–]SomeNoveltyAccount 5 points6 points ago

Fallout 3 is the one game they don't really live up to their reputation, so don't be too disappointed when you run across them.

[–]Naxela 6 points7 points ago

Imagine a velociraptor, just taller, with much larger front claws and longer arms, horns, and more muscle-y. Oh and every bit as fast.

That's about what a deathclaw is like, and as if they weren't dangerous alone, in some areas they are found in groups.

Edit: oh and they pierce armor too; forgot to mention that jolly tidbit.

[–]SighJayAtWork 45 points46 points ago

Either way, I'm going to be picking a lot of locks.

[–]ColonicIrritation 111 points112 points ago

Fallout would be fucking terrifying! yeah dragons and spiders and draugr and scary but goddamn cannibalistic raiders, ghouls, deathclaws, centaurs, super mutants etc... are worse. Also radiation everywhere.

Plus I want a bosmer waifu.

[–]deadeight 36 points37 points ago

Also draugr and stuff tend to stick to their dungeons. Would be easy enough to just not enter strange holes in the sides of a mountain. You could live pretty happily in a city just chopping wood if you wanted to, with non-irradiated food and water.

[–]TheFluxIsThis 11 points12 points ago

Hey, man! Ghouls are people, too! You racist.

[–]freerangehuman 3 points4 points ago

He is literally Tenpenny.

[–]ToastarusMaximus 25 points26 points ago

I'd give so much to live in Tamriel. Oh god, just thinking about it.,..

[–]Ninja_Spike 6 points7 points ago

SKYRIM: -

Knowing my luck I would be a son of a poor farming family struggling around Windhelm (Worst city in the game). When I was old enough I would join the Stormcloaks from all the peer pressure. I would then travel with them far away from Windhelm and abandon them. I would be hunted for treachery and would flee to Whiterun and make an alternate alias. I would try to join the companions, and if that failed join the city garrison. I would live a good life and get married to the The Drunken Huntsman's Owners daughter. Have a decent inheiritence. Buy a house and live happily.

Fallout: - Find some meat. Eat it. Die from radiation.

[–]MrButtermancer 2 points3 points ago

Protip: pier pressure only happens to boats.

[–]remlu 191 points192 points ago

How is that even a question? Really? Would you rather live in a world that is 90% dead or 90% alive. Seriously? Whats the upside of living in the FO universe? Plasma weapons and a pip-boy? F that. have you seen my Skyrim mods? I'll deal with the dragons by hiding out in my supersexy pleasure palace.

[–]Jewbacca_flywalker 47 points48 points ago

The leveler's tower......you hacking fucker.

[–]LvL87BalloonWizard 43 points44 points ago

Except that, y'know, you wouldn't be able to mod it if it was real.

[–]low-effort 33 points34 points ago

That's where you're wrong. CHIM, motherfucker.

[–]Aitioma 9 points10 points ago

[–]deadeight 5 points6 points ago

If I had to live in one permanently, I'd be foolish not to take the Skyrim option.

If I could transition between the two at will, I would go with the Mojave (not capital wasteland). Then at least I could come back and eat, and take drink with me. There's a lot of opportunity in and around NV.

[–]camnui 7 points8 points ago

Fallout universe and in maine... nobody ever nukes maine.

[–]Sweetrolls 66 points67 points ago

Skyrim universe

Fuck this shit, IT'S CALLED MUNDUS.

[–]zedheadted 44 points45 points ago

Or just Nirn, for the planet. Chances are we wouldn't land in one of the other Planes.

[–]Ushankaclock 22 points23 points ago

And that's only the mortal plane. Surely the Godhead is the Elder Scrolls universe if you wanna get technical

[–]the_real 10 points11 points ago

Hardly anyone would knows what you are talking about when you say "Mundus". Skyrim, however is more well known.

[–]Nevek_Green 11 points12 points ago

Isn't that a rather sad fact though?

[–]An_Emo_Dinosaur 7 points8 points ago

Not really, "elder scrolls universe" would be the best, though.

Skyrim was vastly more popular than any other of the TES games, and "Mundus" was really never used, and "nirn" was used few times.

Mundus isn't really well known as a TES thing.

[–]Nevek_Green 2 points3 points ago

My point is that even though the game is so popular it is sad that so few know much about its extensive lore.

[–]TheSuitGuy 18 points19 points ago

So, it's a choice between a post-apocalyptic world, where everything gives you cancer, or a medieval world, where science is limited to cheese wheel + cheese = potion of healing?
Why not both?

[–]generally_competent 24 points25 points ago

restore fatigue potion

FTFY

[–]Spyhop 77 points78 points ago

Elder Scrolls Universe.

FTFY

[–]infernoruby 26 points27 points ago

Fuck that bothered me a lot more than it should have.

obviously was written by a casual.

[–]easymacandspam 13 points14 points ago

Yeah because people who play games to relax and have fun should be laughed at...

[–]TaintedSquirrel 47 points48 points ago

Shut up, you filthy casual! Don't touch me.

[–]BNFN 5 points6 points ago

Yes

[–]Stanjoly2 45 points46 points ago

Obviously TES. Magic > Technology every time.

[–]latticusnon 28 points29 points ago

I disagree that magic is better than technology, however in this instance it is. We are of course comparing really powerful and easy to learn magic against shitty cobbled together post apocalyptic technology.

[–]Aitioma 17 points18 points ago

I disagree that magic is better than technology, however in this instance it is.

No, it's not.

In a universe containing magic you could still develope technology. You most likely simply won't even need it.

Doesn't work the other way around.

[–]Black_Diamond 18 points19 points ago

You must be one of them Dwemer folk.

[–]Syclops 16 points17 points ago

Imagine how much of your life would be loading screens in either one when you walk through doors all day.

[–]gridster2 12 points13 points ago

Not with my PC.

[–]mookler 4 points5 points ago

The downfall of a SSD: I can't read the loading tips

[–]_ShyGuy_ 29 points30 points ago

Skyrim for sure. No radiation, I don't have to search for my food and water, I can use magic, and yell at people.

[–]DevilDemyx 23 points24 points ago

No one said you are the dragonborn, so no yelling at people.

[–]_ShyGuy_ 55 points56 points ago

I never specified if it was dragon shouts I was yelling. Maybe I'm just yelling at people?

[–]thatnerdykid 27 points28 points ago

Nords can Shout. Ulfric did.

[–]_ShyGuy_ 19 points20 points ago

That was my original thought, but now I think I'd like to be a crazy old guy that shouts insults at random people passing by.

[–]thatnerdykid 24 points25 points ago

Fus Roh well fuck you!

[–]_ShyGuy_ 16 points17 points ago

Ya pussy with yer iron swort hic go kill some butterfly's er somthin'!

[–]DevilDemyx 0 points1 point ago

But you could yell at people in real life or in Fallout too, so it's just natural to assume you mean dragon shouts. You could list things like sleeping or eating here as well, but there is no point in that.

[–]that_music_dude 2 points3 points ago

Well maybe I'M the dragonborn, and I just don't know it yet.

[–]alchemeron 11 points12 points ago

Are you kidding me? That's a no-brainer. Would I rather live in a fantasy world with seasons and sunlight and food and possibility? Or would I rather live in an irradiated hellscape devoid of all hope?

Go watch Lord of the Rings. Then go watch The Road. It's not even a choice.

[–]junkyoftheeast 10 points11 points ago

Fallout, just give me some Jet, a gun, and some power armor...we good to go

[–]three29 9 points10 points ago

Would I rather have a Pip-Boy or have the ability to conjure spells... I am conflicted

[–]DoctorKeefe 10 points11 points ago

You can go super-scientist without government restrictions and build everything you want

[–]RobertTheSpruce 16 points17 points ago

Fallout. Reason? Ghoul hookers

[–]DontBroMeBro 12 points13 points ago

Came for the ghoul hookers, stayed for the ghoul hookers.

[–]UnD34d_Do0d 127 points128 points ago

"The skyrim universe" isn't a thing... It should be Elder Scrolls Universe... EDIT: Holy shit this is like my most popular comment ever!

[–]IceCreamPirate 38 points39 points ago

Yup. What if I want to live in Cyrodiil?

[–]weaver2109 23 points24 points ago

Hell yeah, I wouldn't mind living in Battlehorn Castle.

"You, go get me some wine. You there, go kill that troll at the gate. What, it's a salesman?

...Order still stands."

[–]UnD34d_Do0d 5 points6 points ago

Yeah or Elsweyr... Well not there because fuck warmth...

[–]hooahguy 2 points3 points ago

If you have skyrim on the Pc you can get the moonpaths to Elsweyr, a kickass mod that basically adds a whole other region to Skyrim.

[–]MiniRat 0 points1 point ago

Do we know for certain that the Fallout universe isn't the distant future of the Elder Scrolls universe?

[–]Alecrazer 27 points28 points ago

Yes we do know that Fallout and Elder Scrolls are on different planets

[–]TaintedSquirrel 13 points14 points ago

There are functioning rockets in Fallout. Maybe that's where the ghouls went in New Vegas? Heh.

Hey, hey, maybe the ghouls from New Vegas landed in Skyrim and became the Draugr.

[–]nastyjman 21 points22 points ago

I don't want to set the world on fire,

I just want to start a flame in your heart.

[–]XT9 5 points6 points ago

Seriously, though. I don't even care. Screw everyone else's opinion, I'm going to post apocalyptic DC. Why? Because I want to. Seems way cooler to me.

[–]hostergaard 9 points10 points ago

Skyrim.

Why?

Magic

[–]TaintedSquirrel 2 points3 points ago

Fallout has lasers.

[–]Travisaurus 5 points6 points ago

But magic

[–]kobooold 12 points13 points ago

It doesn't say you're the dragonborn. Or you're not a resident of megaton.

[–]RavarSC 6 points7 points ago

I wouldn't want to be a megaton resident if the lone wanderer was like me

Also if i had to be on the East coast i'd rather be in the commonwealth

[–]ZapActions-dower 0 points1 point ago

The Commonwealth sucks just as hard as the Capitol Wasteland, Zimmer said so himself. Live in the NCR like a sensible person.

[–]lulhead 6 points7 points ago

cazadores make the choice somewhat easier

[–]MistahThorn 10 points11 points ago

For fuck's sake, stop calling the entire franchise "Skyrim".

[–]Drdres 6 points7 points ago

How is that a hard decision? As long as you're not born as a Khajiit, Argonian or any type of elf, you'll be fine in Skyrim. If you live in the Fallout universe you'll starve or get poisoned.

[–]zedheadted 8 points9 points ago

You were born as a half-elf, half-argonian, raised by your adopted Khajiit mother and Orc father, and you all live in the Gray Quarter of Windhelm.

[–]Theothodos 4 points5 points ago

Neither. I'd miss television shows too much.

[–]MasterOfLulz 4 points5 points ago

What app is this?

[–]DatBanana1 6 points7 points ago

its not an app, its a website

http://yourather.com/

[–]HereToParty 3 points4 points ago

Hygiene is probs better in Fallout. I imagine it would be a veritable hell to go down on a girl in Whiterun. No showers in Breezehome, bitches.

[–]tyrone2k12 1 point2 points ago

Why would anyone pick the world that consists 90% of dungeons?

[–]riderLyrae 4 points5 points ago

Who would fucking pick nuclear holocaust? What is wrong with you people!!!

[–]kramba 6 points7 points ago

pokemon universe for me please

[–]Aleitheo 5 points6 points ago

Well in the Elder Scrolls universe you at least can live in a house that isn't on the verge of collapsing. That you can drink water that doesn't have the chance of being irradiated.

Plus you can learn magic and all that.

[–]BlackSmokeDemon 9 points10 points ago

Fallout

[–]CalleHK 8 points9 points ago

You can keep your little magic. I'm going to go have fun with my Fat Man and my drinking buddy Boone. Oh and my army of Yes Mans (Yes Men?).

[–]original-merp 10 points11 points ago

There is no 'Skyrim' universe, it's Elder Scrolls god damn it. That's like saying 'the New Vegas universe'

[–]ductaperecorder 2 points3 points ago

Overly irradiated universe with advanced weaponry, but little to no clean water and super mutated creatures that almost all want to kill you

OR

A universe where you can shoot lightning/fire/ice out of your hands, but primitive weaponry, has very little unclean water and only regular sized, mostly non-poisonous animals want to kill you.

[–]ImportantPotato 2 points3 points ago

V.A.T.S.

[–]JarekBloodDragon 1 point2 points ago

Is op even serious about this question? A nuclear holocaust would suck radioactive dicks.

[–]Plasmashark 1 point2 points ago

So you have to choose between no plumbing and radioactive plumbing?

Shit.

[–]owennerd123 1 point2 points ago

Obviously Skyrim, considering the other one is POST APOCALYPTIC. I personally prefer our current world though, where I can still experience those worlds.

[–]AgentGinger149 1 point2 points ago

Halo universe.

[–]Aitioma 1 point2 points ago

Uhm, Skyrim? How is this even a question?

A world with magic that's full of awesome possibilities, with guilds and rich cities and culture and knowledge to acquire...

Or a toxic, radioactive wasteland where everyone wants to kill everything else and steal your shit, having to fight for your survival and not having a choice but to deceit and be deceived.

[–]linniee 1 point2 points ago

I'd want to be a chicken. Everyone loves me enough to violently avenge my death.

Get in the Skyrim universe, become awesome enough to handle the Elder Scroll, find said Elder Scroll and use it to transport yourself between the two. Could be done vice versa with some advanced tech from Fallout and making a wormhole or something. Either way double win.

[–]KarneEspada 4 points5 points ago

Skyrim. I have a feeling that a post apocalyptic universe is only fun in a video game, not real life.

[–]MoiraFluffkin 5 points6 points ago

this thread made me realize /r/gaming is 100% full of 13 year olds.

[–]Jim777PS3 1 point2 points ago

Did you forget in the Fallout universe the world is a horrible wastelend where one would be more likely to die of radiation sickness from water then actually go on any kind of adventure?

That is not a hard choice people

[–]bockit96 5 points6 points ago

Fallout Hands down.

[–]SlightlyInsane 1 point2 points ago

You like radiation, radscorpions, deathclaws, ghouls, super mutants and all that horrifying shit?

[–]AshuraSpeakman 12 points13 points ago

Devil's Advocate: It's a chance game. You may end up in Fallout 1, and get your ass scrambled before you've touched anything else. But you may end up as a Vault 21 Dweller, gambling constantly in a post-apocalyptic paradise without anything you mentioned. Well, maybe drunk NCR and bandits. But really, that's almost better than current-day terrors.

[–]bockit96 8 points9 points ago

I like more than close combat with a dragon.

[–]SlightlyInsane 4 points5 points ago

So leave skyrim and travel somewhere safer. shrug

[–]bockit96 5 points6 points ago

. . . You win.

[–]vonShang 1 point2 points ago

Beat up Deathclaws with bare hands or put pots on everyones head.

[–]caneut 0 points1 point ago

Who the fuck are you guys kidding? You do realize in both of those universes, you would actually have to WORK and survival would not be handed to you?

Only about 5% of reddit would survive in both of them.

[–]AlexMaggot 1 point2 points ago

Skyrim all the way!

[–]Reemertastic 0 points1 point ago

Well the Fallout universe would kinda suck to live in, with all the radiation and diminishing supplies...

[–]IanTheRed420 1 point2 points ago

Easy choice. Skyrim

[–]twasajester 0 points1 point ago

Skyrim. I just don't feel like getting radiation from everything.

[–]Vinc3ntPh4m 1 point2 points ago

I'd die horrifically in both, probably worse in Fallout though...

[–]KingsleyFilms 1 point2 points ago

TES, easily. Because I'm a sucker for fantasy.

[–]thevideoclown 0 points1 point ago

Skyrim seems safer and a lot less depressing

[–]Crackerpool 1 point2 points ago

Lolmagic

[–]NemesisFrank 0 points1 point ago

...At least Skyrim has food, and less radiation.

[–]krispyKRAKEN 1 point2 points ago

One word: Deathclaws.

Skyrim all the way.

[–]xm1000 1 point2 points ago

Two words: Dragons motherfucker. Still Elder Scrolls though.

[–]ThoryanX9000 1 point2 points ago

Elder Scrolls universe for sure. Good water, beautiful scenery, awesome dungeons to explore, and magic. Plus I don't need to worry about Dragons if I move down south to Cyrodiil. Hell didn't the Dark Brotherhood kill the Emperor? I could try and become emperor then attempt to reunite the empire and destroy the Thalmor!

[–]mesofire 0 points1 point ago

muthafunkin magic everytime

[–]TheAurelian 0 points1 point ago

That's not a hard choice if you really think about it.

[–]I_am_the_Werewolf 1 point2 points ago

In one game you have the potential to grow new limbs. In the other you have a chance to become a god. Hmm, I'll choose Skyrim.

[–]weglarz 0 points1 point ago

How is this a hard choice? Skyrim by far...

[–]martinx3x 0 points1 point ago

Skyrim. I would just chill in Solitude all the time.

[–]DeadPants182 1 point2 points ago

Skyrim. Assuming I can get in, I think it would be cool to study at the College of Winterhold, where at least I'm surrounded by people with relatively similar interests and can learn cool magic.
