this is my new favorite gif.

I hope the raise after three years was at least 15%, and the bonus enough to compensate for lack of the previous raises.

[–]sailingonward 4 points5 points ago

Yeah OP, give us some numbers!

[–]WombatDominator[S] 5 points6 points ago

Haha it was only a 4.5% raise, but really it was so unexpected I couldn't help but be happy. The bonus was due to us going over last quarter's projected sales figure which has only happened twice before.

[–]banned_andeh 5 points6 points ago

So basically you're keeping up with inflation.

[–]WombatDominator[S] 7 points8 points ago

Little bit under, sadly.

[–]Cphilli45 3 points4 points ago

I feel like employees should get a raise every year to compensate for annual inflation...

[–]dademon 0 points1 point ago

Most of us get raises every year.

Most of the time, the insurance premiums go just a little bit higher, though, so you end up making less anyway.

[–]UndergroundLurker -1 points0 points ago

I'm pretty sure, mathematically, that's impossible. Whole-scale that would become a source of inflation. But maybe not if you ponzi scheme it with first-time workers.

[–]renderless 1 point2 points ago

That would never be a source of inflation. Unless the employers themselves were increasing the money supply, which the last time I checked, oh I don't know, in elementary economics, that's now how it works.

Numbers or it didn't happen

My dad has worked the same job for 23 years and never gotten a raise.

Granted his pay is salary+commission, he still has been #1 salesman in his company for the past year and there are other salesmen who still get a higher pay.

I can't wait for the day he calls to tell me he got a raise

Anyways, good on you man It's awesome you stuck around with the company

[–]teious 0 points1 point ago

Got a raise yesterday after working 2 months the same job. 25% raise =D

But no fucking bonus =(

I'm an intern. I'll just start receiving lunch moneys. And it's almost 25% of what I normally get and spend on lunch. So it's like a pay raise...

That's the bowl they make you put your keys in at airport security.

[–]PenisBakeMeAPancake 1 point2 points ago

The more I see them, the more I want a goddamn corgi.

[–]kareemabduljabbq 1 point2 points ago

got an employee excellence award, finished my degree, and 5 years at the same place.

got same raise as everyone else when merit raises were reinstalled.

fuck everything.

At least you aren't making minimum wage like me. It sucks to be full time student and part time fast food worker.

[–]SC0TTBL4M -1 points0 points ago

One of the best gifs on the internet, but the text in it is wholly unnecessary.

We're unionizing and the company and union (a large telephone company) are FUCKING us.

I will make more money in either 1 or 2 more years, less sick time, could have someone above me get laid off and bump me with one week notice, our medical will be cheaper for 2 years then get more expensive than it is now.

Regarding more money, the position will never pay more than 850/wk plus 2.25% a year raise... or at least until the next contract negotiation.

Well I have two children in school, a wife, myself, rent, one car payment, insurance for two cars, two cell phones, internet and tv, credit card debt, food, the usual stuff, and live in a moderately expensive area and drive 40 miles round-trip 5-6 days a week to work.

[–]BlastMeBagpipes -1 points0 points ago

Sounds like you suck at your job and they gave you them minimum just to stick around.

[–]Stevazz 0 points1 point ago

That shit happens in the Sims in like, 2 days.

[–]Neoflare 0 points1 point ago

Retroactive raises/bonuses are basically how I save for expensive things every year or two.

[–]skottfree 0 points1 point ago

Not to be a downer, but your company is raping you.

[–]menageafoie 0 points1 point ago

congratulations!

[–]gkiltz 0 points1 point ago

How much? 20-25c/ hr??

[–]Comet_rider -2 points-1 points ago

It's just too adorable how his eyes immediately follow the one rogue kibble that escaped the bowl.
