I got drunk and played Slender with my sister and some of her friends. Since I was drunk I decided the game was now to catch the Slender man. It scared the shit out of everyone. They kept yelling for me to stop running towards him.

Also, as far as I know, the model in the game doesn't even move or do anything, you just see it. I just don't understand.

Exactly. For me, Slenderman isn't scary because he has no background, just something a few people spotted in some random photographs. "Oooo, a really skinny, tall guy photo-bombed this picture! What does he want?!" This gap is reflected in the game, too: the makers couldn't think of anything more clever than that he catches you and the screen whites out.

All I'm seeing are very badly 'shopped photos. What's more is they're worse than I remember. Unlike other urban legends, it just feels like some people are trying way too hard to make Slenderman into a 'thing'.

There have been quite a few disappearances of children that have been said to be linked to the "Tree Man".

Dude, slender man was made up by someone on Something Awful like 3 or 4 years ago.

Afterwards, there were a bunch of reported sightings of him (like, reported to the police) scattered all over the world. He's slowly becoming a real urban legend, which is crazy-bananas.

Yeah, basically. What happens is that as soon as they aren't in your vision anymore, you forget they were ever there. So if you suddenly forget what was happening, or have a moment where there seems to be a dim in the lights or a short loss of time, one of them was there.

They are also able to deliver subliminal messages while you are looking at them. You'll forget the message itself, but remember to do it. So, through the television, they are basically able to control the world. They are eventually defeated by playing a recording of one saying that humanity should kill them on sight, if they knew they existed, on TV.

For Christ's sake, you can still see the seams in the middle of the Slenderman model. On top of that, it has no texture.
