I never understood why this matters. I had a clever title on one of my posts that was most definitely a repost and some kid did the same thing to me. I have never gotten a post with several points and i don't plan to. If it is a repost, why does it matter? Maybe people new to reddit haven't seen it yet and they think its funny. My point is there is really no point in stopping people for getting internet points from random strangers. Neither is there any point in getting them. The purpose of /r/funny is to show the reddit community something funny and try to make them laugh also. So have a nice day.

He has a point though. It's good that the community is aware of reposts because it could become a problem (like the same thing being posted every month) but for new users there's no problem. It's most likely it'll be the first time they'll get to see that. The fact that this thread is doing better in comparison to the previous one shows that most people who upvoted it hadn't seen it before.

Really? GS10's start at 60K and GS15's makes over six figures. The ones I work with disappear whenever the word "work" is spoken. They prefer working on their personal laptops photoshopping their amateur photographs and managing their daughter's sports endeavors over their real job. Plus, if you retired military and then retire government and come back as a consultant, you make three incomes.

Nope, not at all. GS10 is an entry level middle-manager position. Most people where I work are called Action officers and they go from being interns to GS12s. Most don't have college educations from the get-go but military with experience take precedence.

I'm not saying all gov are lazy but the ones that are, really stand out and piss you off because of how much they make and how little people respect them. And when they cause trouble, guess what? You're past the trial phase and you need to murder someone to get fired. So you get reassigned and become someone else's problem.

Even with pensions, compared to corporate positions government workers are grossly underpaid. Probably around $20,000 less than corporate jobs of the same position. I only know this based on a major city's government, not federal. By the way, government workers don't do nothing, they do things but at a snail's pace.

OK, I work with departmental executives, I don't know too much about the employees working in the field or directly with taxpayers; HOWEVER, I do know with jobs that require little to know education or prior experience, that governments are always concerned about diversity and supplying jobs to the handicapped over qualifications. This may explain why the government behaves in the most mysterious of ways.

I dream of federal employment too. Desk job. Work only about 2 out of the 8 hours you're there a day. Cost of living raises. Company can never go out of business and I can't ever be fired for being lazy. Six weeks off a year and all holidays. Pension. Sounds great.
