Two tentacles and eight legs evidently. The tentacles are the longer appendages that have the spade like bit at the end. Either way it's not an octopus right?

There are definitely eight arms there, but there don't appear to be tentacles to go with them.

An octopus has a round head and a mantle along with eight arms. The arms are endowed with one or two rows of suckers but these never have hooks or sucker rings. Squids are also cephalopods with a triangular shaped head, a mantle and eight arms. Along with that they have two fins on their head and two tentacles. The arms of a Squid are endowed with hooks and/or suckers or sucker rings. The tentacles are arranged in pairs.

This appears to be an octopus. Considering The Internet says it's an octopus, it has to be.

Ah I didn't see the one in the back blocked by the other leg. So that brings it to 7 visible legs and we can assume 1 we can't see. Interesting that Octopi babies look like squids. Then again most mammal fetuses are surprisingly similar as well.

Here's hoping things turn around eventually. I have had too many exchange student friends both in the US and Japan who have fled Indonesia due to the strong conservative culture.

Study abroad, and then never return to Indonesia. :/ Many immigrants do things like that, starting by studying abroad, applying to university, getting a job, and then basically getting residency and telling their home country to fuck off.

I don't necessarily like the US (I moved out due to political reasons), but I would take the US over Indonesia any day.

Personally I moved to Korea. It has its own problems, but I personally find Korea much closer to what I want in a country. Very strong social infrastructure, including comprehensive socialized healthcare. A lower percentage of religious people than the US, and those who are religious are less likely to hate atheists for no particular reason. Fundamentalists are pretty rare here, despite what the population of Korean Americans back in the US would lead you to believe. You do still get a few crazies on the trains every now and then.

Public transportation is also very important to me. Korea has that covered, even in a number of rural areas. The US, on the other hand, has completely dropped the ball on transportation infrastructure outside of a very small number of large cities, and even there it's quite expensive compared to the level of subsidizing that South Korea puts into their infrastructure.

I could go on, but yeah. South Korea is pretty nice. Japan is nicer, in my personal opinion, but I'm a bit biased because I lived in Japan for a few years for university. Less than 1% Christian, strong transportation, and socialized healthcare (although I don't believe quite as good as Korea's).

a) It has 8 legs, not 10 as squids normally do.

b) Just because it's "head" is shaped like a squid's now doesn't mean it will develop to be more octopus-like over time. It IS just a larva right now and has a lot of growing to do before it is an adult.

I'm no expert but that looks like Atlantic Pygmy Octopus (Octopus joubini).

This video shows one hatching and it looks VERY similar to the OP.
