On the journey from our hotel back to the airport I saw a villa with an observatory. I was more jealous than I can ever recall.

I went up the volcano and it was pretty awesome. I never got up to the near-peak but the lava plain on the top is very impressive to see.

My girlfriend and I were on Teide at about 10,000 feet Sunday the 12th and were able to watch this for an hour or so before we had to get to sleep. We summitted the next morning and got to watch the sun rise. Teide is beautiful.

Hate to be that guy especially with such a beautiful picture, but this belongs in /r/skyporn or /r/spaceporn per the FAQs:

However, this has some land in it but it is mostly space so it should be submitted to SpacePorn, this has space in it and the land is blacked out so it should be submitted to SpacePorn,
