Long hairs are so much more mellow. My father in law has 4 short hairs that are the devil and a mellow longhair. He whines when excited. My long hair had never barked until she visited the pack. She is quiet and attentive. Im not even a small dog person and love my wieners.

They can be but for the most part i say more mellow. Plus that fort could protect him/ her from all sorts of things. Needs the cushioning to fight the cat for one. Lol. My girl has cats to chase and wrestle so she has never even attempted to shred her toys or my cushions. She also has a closet of toys i rotate so she doesnt get bored when i am not home.

Well oddly enough, I was always just reluctant because of all the hair, but recently ran into a long haired at pet smart and asked the owner about shedding, and she said NONE!!! Made me instantly interested.

I have two cats that do the shedding. I hardly find her hair anywhere but she is the exact chocolate brown of my sofa. Brush her and bathe her and shes good and Groomer for a cute puppy cut now and then.

Here's a low quality picture of Jude, our long haired, snuggling with one of our cats, Sophie. My fiance just brushed him last night, and every time he does, he gets a decent sized ball of hair. They definitely shed, but not too much. Not as much as the cats, that's for sure.

Mine too..Though only after the past couple years. Or maybe I'm just noticing it more because his hair is turning a different color. Actually, what color is yours? Mine is red and his tail is starting to turn blackish at the base. He's 9.

The hair actually isn't a huge problem (I'm on my 3rd long hair), plus they are so much softer and more cuddly than the smooth coat, and what people say about their disposition is true. Very loving breed.
