Is there a proper way to repost something? Give credit to the original? I don't mind reposts, there's plenty of shit on reddit I've never seen and if it doesn't get reposted I probably never will. How does one post interesting relevant content if it has already been posted?

Two methods: Hope no one calls you out on it (they will), or post a comment linking to where you found it/stating it's a repost. If you know it's a repost, you can try to say it, although you'll probably be downvoted for it. However, if it's been like 1 year or 2 years since it was last posted, people might upvote you for honesty on that front. It's basically a gamble every time.

I always use KarmaDecay to check, and good judgement comes into play. If it's been a while, then really, who gives a shit? If it was over 1000 points in the last month, then yah, I'm not going to post it. Judgement calls.

(actually, it wasn't totally clear from your response. But, if you were referring to Scopolamina, then really it's not that it's a 'fetish', it's really just him robo-posting, with some content cache and a script. That's a pretty common gag these days on reddit, actually ... you'll see someone with a string of very high scoring posts, and when you look them up on karmadecay, you'll see that they are all high scoring links from exactly 5 months ago. Or 8 months or a year, it varies from person to person, but it's clearly that people are just bookmarking / looking up whatever was on the front page then, and are reposting it with some lag, enough so that people seemingly forget the post and will be happy to see it again.)

Because his account is script-driven. He's submitting many, many posts an hour, just rehashing old content. He's likely doing it to build up points on this account or others to use them for "genuine participation" advertising, or to sell them on to other people to use for advertising.

Apple is going to lose their venture against Samsung and take a big hit from it. The iPhone 5 isn't going to be a 4G phone, since network rollout has been so poor that they can't reasonably market it as one. MacBooks have been rev'd so aggressively that sales are slowing down.

Now's not a good time to invest.

Loyalty - I will admit, any time I see a picture of a dog waiting for their recently deceased owner on the front porch, it brings a tear to my eye, It is both adorable and heart-wrenching. But is such loyalty a sign of intelligence? Let us say my best friend died. If I sat at his grave site waiting for him to wake up, or went over to his house every day to see if he is home, would you say I was displaying intelligence, or have some serious mental health problems?

Train-ability - How does being able to train a dog imply intelligence? On Mythbusters, Jamie was able to train goldfish to go through orange holes in plexi-glass to get food. Were the fish intelligent? Or were they just doing what they had to do to survive? There was a study done a while ago with monkeys: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_the_monkey_banana_and_water_spray_experiment_ever_take_place. As a group, the monkeys did what they had to to avoid getting sprayed with water, but does that show intelligence, either of the group or of any individual?

Extensive Memory - First off, proof please. Second, does having a long memory imply intelligence? Shouldn't intelligence be demonstrated by what the organism can do with that extensive memory, not just the fact that it has one? You would think after 3 years, my dog would understand that, when I was leaving for class, I will be coming back in 3 hours.

Ninja-edit: I purposely wrote this to not come off as hostile or dickish, and if I did, it was not my intention. I honestly think the argument on both sides is pretty silly. Dogs and cats do what evolution and nature have taught them to do, and neither displays any real intelligence. At least, not as much intelligence as displayed by primates, dolphins, elephants, and other larger mammals.

Also, some knowledge! Cats do this to themselves, and humans (you know, when you're scratching them and all of a sudden they go crazy on your hand?) because of an overload to their nerves. They are, literally, in so much pleasure they can't stand it. They spazz out.
