Jesus christ, two people of the opposite sex having a nice night together!

He must be gay, or she owes him sex for being around.

[–]SillyNonsense 17 points18 points ago

Take out the gossip and I think most guys would enjoy a night like that with whoever. Just chilling with snacks watching TV.

[–]NoDiggityNoDoubt 5 points6 points ago

Ice cream and pickles? Not quite.

[–]Fluxxed0 4 points5 points ago

the fuck is wrong with pickles?

[–]Mudders_Milk_Man 4 points5 points ago

They're tortured, mutated cucumbers.

I take it upon myself to eat all of the cukes before they can be horribly transformed into pickles.

Ok, not really. I do love cukes, but I'm picky about them. The lesser-quality ones can go become shudder pickes. Some people like them after all.

[–]Fluxxed0 3 points4 points ago

False. Pickles are an elevated form of cucumbers... the next stage of evolution if you will. Faster, better, tastier. CUCUMBER has evolved into PICKLE! Cucumber to e8, promote to pickle. Pickle := cumcumber++. You get the idea.

[–]jmb1406 3 points4 points ago

they don't go with ice cream, that's what

[–]plus1zero 2 points3 points ago

Last night my fiancee was over and pulled some ice cream out of the freezer and got a spoon. I stopped, looked at her, and she thought it was of judgment.

No.

I went and got another spoon, pulled up a chair beside her, and ate the shit out of my birthday cake ice cream with her. All while watching Breaking Bad. I don't care who you are, eating ice cream together will bring you closer.

[–]KlepticKukumber 33 points34 points ago

He's gay.

[–]kingofbiscuits 6 points7 points ago

If he's not she will probably start assuming he is. Until he professes his undying love 5 years from now when she's getting married.

[–]yardnome070 0 points1 point ago

if not, he is well on his way

[–]Rielos -1 points0 points ago

Gaaaaayyyyyy!

[–]LOLDATSFUNNEHGUISE -1 points0 points ago

Definitely

[–]pascontent 5 points6 points ago

Wow reddit really amazes me when it comes to "friendzoning". Just a guy chilling with a girl. I do plenty of that. Don't hear me crying over it. I distance myself from girls I like who friendzone me, what's the big deal? Solidarity for a stranger whom will never see the light of those comments? Screw that.

[–]18bananas[S] 0 points1 point ago

It's supposed to be funny, that's why I posted it in /r/funny. If I thought he was really in need of rescue because he had been put in the friend zone, I would have posted it elsewhere. :)

[–]pascontent 1 point2 points ago

Nothing directed at you or the post...only the comments you generally see on friend zone posts ^^

[–]shaladdle 8 points9 points ago

There are several explanations for this

  1. He's gay
  2. She's gay
  3. They are both straight and he just likes watching tv while eating pickles and gossiping
  4. She's not interested (I suppose you call this "friendzoning")

If it's #4, I have little sympathy for him. He should take responsibility for his feelings and either ask her out or distance himself from her if he feels uncomfortable around her. That might seem harsh, but it's a lot better for him to get over her and move on with life than to torture himself by hoping that she'll eventually come around.

[–]ToastmahGhost 2 points3 points ago

she didn't need to make it a facebook post though. I see so many posts like this of my guy friends hanging out with a girl they like. The girl posts for everyone to see that they are totally just friends. I think some of them are nervous that if they hang out with the guy alone, people will think they did stuff and so they pre-empt post that they're "best friends" so no one accuses them. It's happened to me, it's happened to my friends, and it sucks. All of facebook doesn't need to know he's "just a friend".

[–]shaladdle -1 points0 points ago

If that's really what the relationship is, then why does it suck? It's just stating a fact that both parties already know.

I understand and actually agree that it's obnoxious when people post personal things on Facebook, but it sounds like what you don't like is people posting personal things on facebook. If that's what this is about, then why are we talking about friendzoning?

[–]ToastmahGhost 2 points3 points ago

have you ever liked someone who just wanted to be friends? it sucks. I'm saying some girls accidentally friend zone guys, and some intentionally do it to be bitchy. my buddies and I are like "you hanging out with stacy tonight? hey good luck tim!" "Yeah go for it!" "dude, make a move!" and encourage him to ask her out on a legit date. then later that night stacy posts what an "awesome friend" he is and how "ladies, he's single!" and bullshit. It's like, oh guess things didn't go so well. and everyone knows it.

[–]shaladdle 0 points1 point ago

Rejection does suck. However, rejection is a part of life. My personal approach is not to assume that things will work out. Be confident and flirt and see what happens but don't assume that things will go your way. That's the best you can do. If you like someone there is always a chance they don't like you back. But what is with "friendzoning"? Why do you have to make it sound like it's the girl's fault for not liking you?

As for posting it all over the place.. I said in my previous post that I disdain people posting private things all over facebook, so I agree with you there. There really is no reason to go declaring your relationship with someone to the world. My relationship with someone (friendship or otherwise) is between me and that person.

As for "some [girls] intentionally [frienzone] guys to be bitchy".. Yes. Some do that. I'm sure some boys do that to. Don't hang out with them. You have control over that.

[–]ToastmahGhost 0 points1 point ago

okay were on the same page then.

[–]RedPhalcon 2 points3 points ago

... maybe he DOESNT have feelings for her. SHOCKING.

[–]NumberOneTheLarch 0 points1 point ago

...You didn't read the other options shaladdle posted, did you?

[–]RedPhalcon 2 points3 points ago

3 doesn't quite cover it dude. Maybe he's friendzoned HER too.

[–]shaladdle 0 points1 point ago

In my mind, friendzoning is just saying that one person's not attracted to the other and still wants to be their friend. To me that's implicit in #3. Lol I guess two people who "friendzone" each other are just friends. Haha can you imagine if you referred to all your friends like that?

[–]Kelfox 2 points3 points ago

Title Level: "Madonna's vagina" overused

[–]jamesf797 1 point2 points ago

gossiping is bad. don't do it.

[–]metathesis 2 points3 points ago

Whenever I see these posts, I have to wonder why the girl would post that to facebook. Just what's the point? Why is she so excited about a friend and why did she assume this is information anyone else getting her newsfeed would be in any way interested to hear?

[–]Nightmathzombie 0 points1 point ago

That's what makes me curious. No comment on friendzoning though, I know better than to have an opinion on that. I will say this though, apparently "liking someone" somehow means you EXPECT sexual favors from them, and are therefore a lowly piece of shit. I don't understand that part either.

[–]I_Think_IShit_Myself 2 points3 points ago

Didn't mind anything this whacko said until she mentioned "he must be a girl inside." Just a generally nice thing to say to your good guy friend... NOT. What the hell is wrong with people?

[–]pirate_chef 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, would I post about a tomboy-ish girl I hang out with, and say, "She must be a guy inside"? Hell to the NO. Way to reinforce gender stereotypes. Just rude.

[–]pomegranati 3 points4 points ago

I'm straight and I had a girl best friend and we did stuff like that. We had ice cream, went to the parks, hung out all the time and joked around with each other. There were no romantic feelings involved. Can't a guy and a girl be ice cream buddies?

[–]marbarkar 6 points7 points ago

Ya, eating ice cream, watching TV, and talking with a friend, sounds awful! This guy is a moron and should demand a BJ next time he sees her in order to save his soul!

[–]123comeonBaby 5 points6 points ago

"At one moment he was like... scratching his thigh under the blanket.
Must be some serious condition he didn't want to talk about (so shy).
He began sweating and had to go to the bathroom for at least 10 minutes."

[–]Rainbow_Dissection 2 points3 points ago

Who eats ice cream and pickles together?

[–]hockeymisfit1 1 point2 points ago

Let us take a moment of silence to remember our fallen comrade...

[–]Richey_Tenenbaum 2 points3 points ago

So whenever a guy is really good friends with a girl he's being friend zoned? So are you implying that all guys are just interested being with a girl and never just being friends? Anyone else find that sexist as fuck?

[–]dennis8963 9 points10 points ago

You sir, have been brainwashed.

[–]hockeymisfit1 4 points5 points ago

You would watch chick flix, watch Princess Diaries, eat Cherry Garcia and gossip about the other girls at work, just for fun? Sounds like every single guy's favorite way to spend a Friday night

[–]chekkers 3 points4 points ago

Don't generalise there are guys like that, that don't want to get into a girls pants (neither are they gay) in the same way a girl can do stereotypically guy things like watch football with a beer or something.

Also don't you lie NO ONE would turn down cherry garcia.

[–]Zombie-a-thon 1 point2 points ago

Friend zone level: pickle

[–]xxBluexx -1 points0 points ago

I've seen worst Friend zonings

[–]i_be_likewtf 1 point2 points ago

Proof my good sir?

[–]xxBluexx 1 point2 points ago

One of my guy friends was a 'tampon' to his crush a couple years back

[–]NotANinja 0 points1 point ago

Soooo... you're saying she put him in her vagina, right?

[–]i_be_likewtf 2 points3 points ago

Its not friend zoning if he got in her vagina

[–]xxBluexx 0 points1 point ago

no, as in hes such a good friend that hes like a tampon that keeps her from leaks

[–]Nerfherder32 1 point2 points ago

I don't have proof, but I agree with him, I've seen worse ones too

[–]sagemassa 0 points1 point ago

Holy Mother of GOD

*while gossiping

[–]somestrangewashers -1 points0 points ago

Ummm...hello?? That's called a gay best friend, hun

[–]doogles769 -2 points-1 points ago

The dude must be gay. There is friend zoning and then there is that.

[–]megapaw -1 points0 points ago

Maybe she's the one that's gay. At least that's how I've always dealt with it internally.

[–]Nateosis -1 points0 points ago

I. . . .I just threw up in my mouth a little bit

[–]olopower -4 points-3 points ago

A sad day

[–]GreyEarth -3 points-2 points ago

Tragic.

[–]happlepaff -5 points-4 points ago

A moment of silence for our fallen comrade..

[–]bober95 -3 points-2 points ago

[–]The-Cobra -1 points0 points ago

[–]iamthetruemichael -4 points-3 points ago

That is as sad as seeing the news stories about crazy men castrating themselves with little Xacto knives..

[–]ectod -2 points-1 points ago

We just discovered instant BFFZone is also possible... it's a dangerous world...
