If that's Canadian graffiti, why isn't the French translation written right next to it?

[–]tyereliusprime 138 points139 points ago

Because the Quebecois don't have a translation for anything as polite as that.

[–]FaasnuDovah 21 points22 points ago

Ou CASSER!

[–]PostsNothing 34 points35 points ago

[–]Sockpockets 24 points25 points ago

This really isn't as bad as most troll accounts, it's kinda like a pet.

[–]133tm4n 14 points15 points ago

One that shits all over the place.

[–]brandonthebaker 9 points10 points ago

Or doesn't shit at all

[–]LookingForAPunTime 1 point2 points ago

Kind of like a certain pet...

[–]scamperly 19 points20 points ago

Oublier les policiers!

[–]SuperShamou 8 points9 points ago

méprisez la Sûreté du Québec

ou

méprisez la Gendarmerie royale du Canada

ftfy

[–]driveling 3 points4 points ago

A Quebecois would never say something so polite.

[–]zdarlight 1 point2 points ago

Désolé :(

[–]ThatGreekGuy 0 points1 point ago

Ha, that was actually good.

[–]Hlachilles 0 points1 point ago

Did no one else get the Canadian Bacon reference?!

[–]RizzoFromDigg 0 points1 point ago

I guess...

[–]canadian_ben 0 points1 point ago

We are sticklers for proper spelling and grammar.

[–]_dontreadthis 0 points1 point ago

"police service"

[–]Pack_of_derms 110 points111 points ago

Been to the Stampede yet?

[–]WhatamIwaitingfor 76 points77 points ago

Gentle-men, I have no need to talk with you, goodbye.

[–]AceEnigmaX 22 points23 points ago

You can thank Sweet Jesus that those Pack_of_derms didn't happen to pull any weapons out on you!!!

[–]WhatamIwaitingfor 15 points16 points ago

I've sent a letter to the local paper explaining the need for tourists to have the right to carry firearms.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points ago

god i love this line.

[–]okgothen224 4 points5 points ago

It sounds like someone would say in the 1800s

[–]h2sbacteria 6 points7 points ago

I said, BEEN TO THE STAMPEDE YET?

[–]f3tch 5 points6 points ago

Raises hand

[–]MrTravesty 11 points12 points ago

Stop before I shoot!!!

[–]emann43 11 points12 points ago

As a Canadian I would like to apologize for Derms' overly presumptuous question regarding the Stampede. Once a year Calgarians get a bit crazy, although this does not reflect the Canadian demographic as a whole. Again, sorry.

[–]Trucidar 2 points3 points ago

Learning about something that happened 5 minutes away from your house via a post from a stranger thousands of miles away on the internet: Priceless.

[–]theoneandonlypeter 26 points27 points ago

[–]NonPermissive 16 points17 points ago

I would've gone with Disregard the constabulary.

[–]YogiWanKenobi 8 points9 points ago

[–]Krelboyne 20 points21 points ago

constabulatory

You only had one job!

[–]Stormfly 5 points6 points ago

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points ago

Delightful.

[–]Herpshul 223 points224 points ago

As a Canadian I feel it is my duty to apologise, on behalf of Canada, for writing such disgrace on your local playground. I ask you, to please know this does not reflect the majority of Canadians. We are really sweet, caring, civilised people.

[–]bob_newman 148 points149 points ago

As a Canadian I feel it is my duty to apologize for Herpshul spelling 'apologize' and 'civilized' the Canadian way.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]SMUT_ADDICT 70 points71 points ago

As an American, GIVE ME FRIES!

[–]lazerllama10 30 points31 points ago

As an Indian, have you tried turning it off and back on again?

[–]igotwaaaybaked 53 points54 points ago

COVERED IN MAYONNISE!

[–]SMUT_ADDICT 32 points33 points ago

WITH MY KETCHUP IN A BOWL!

[–]Roxxer 20 points21 points ago

I WANT MY FRIES WITH A SIDE OF AK-47, JESUS AND FREEDOM!

[–]Projekt535 20 points21 points ago

AK-47?! WHAT ARE YOU, A COMMIE?!?! GIMME AN M4A1 MOTHERFUCKER!

[–]FireRising 12 points13 points ago

...merica

[–]MapleSyrupIsAwesome 7 points8 points ago

Netherlander detected!

[–]jwestbury 8 points9 points ago

Fuck that, I'm American, and fries dipped in mayo are the best thing.

[–]nitrologly 2 points3 points ago

America's answer to mayo is definitely ranch.

[–]hithazel 10 points11 points ago

This is such a stereotype. A real American would know they must first embedded in ground beef and wrapped in the American flag.

[–]Lord_Voltan 2 points3 points ago

Whilst clapping

[–]DarkestStar320 3 points4 points ago

And bacon covered bacon.

[–]AnaPelotas 2 points3 points ago

As a colombian I think you're using my line.

[–]ShottyKong 2 points3 points ago

You are now tagged my cartel bro, fellow mexican.

[–]MrTravesty 1 point2 points ago

As a Canadian, eh?

[–]gulpeg 17 points18 points ago

As a Canadian I apologize for the tone used by bob_newman's apology, I find it was not polite enough.. Once again, sorry!!

[–]bob_newman 16 points17 points ago

I am soured with sorrow that my sorry didn't sound as sorry as I sorely am.

[–]Captainpatch 5 points6 points ago

I'm sorry you felt the need to use two exclamation points in your apology. It really isn't all that much trouble.

[–]F_Scott_Fitzawesome 4 points5 points ago

As an Irishman, fiddle-dee-idle potatoes.

[–]gsomething 12 points13 points ago

Sorry, but as a Canadian I have to point out that as we take the English 'colour,' et al. we may also take the English apologise/civilise, as both are correct.

Again, sorry.

[–]boydpond 1 point2 points ago

Herpshul losses Tim Hortons pass for one month.

[–]KissTheGeek 0 points1 point ago

It's not just Canadian spelling, but proper English spelling of the words..

[–]joanzen 0 points1 point ago

Can't we all just make a coloured group of love, like a centre of togetherness, and forget the differences of hot-dogs vs. bacon for just a moment of peace?

[–]Burritoguy 29 points30 points ago

As someone who lives near the Canadian border, I'm almost sorry.

[–]sirukin 14 points15 points ago

As a Canadian who is sick of this "Canadians are too nice and always apologizing" meme, I will say this: Fuck all of you and have a nice day.

[–]naes 6 points7 points ago

...most polite "fuck you" I've ever heard.

[–]diewhitegirls 8 points9 points ago

This just in from the Canadian ambassador: "Sorry aboot sirukin. He's really a nice guy, just having a tough day."

[–]wuzizname 2 points3 points ago

Sirukin's mom is an American.

[–]gigantepicante 23 points24 points ago

As a redditor, I believe that the only reason this comment is the most highly upvoted is because reddit likes reinforcing stereotypes that it already believes in.

[–]Apollo64 4 points5 points ago

I'm more tired of "Canadians apologize" stereotypes than "Americans are fat" stereotypes. Mainly because at least people can find creative ways to call us fat, while Canadians just clutter the top comments with "Sorry".

Also, inb4 somebody apologizes to me, because I can see it from a mile away.

[–]TnDMaker 8 points9 points ago

My girlfriend actually gets super pissed at me for saying sorry to random people. Apparently I say it far to often. ( I'm canadian)

P.s. I'd like to thank you for your time and I'm SORRY for any grammar or spelling errors

[–]KofOaks 8 points9 points ago

Well, what's wrong with that?

What's wrong with not being an asshole in a world already full of assholes?

[–]TnDMaker 2 points3 points ago

Oh I agree completely! If someone bumps into me and I say sorry it's not doing any damage I guess I was just raised that way!

[–]BuffaloToast 1 point2 points ago

I'm so sorry my face was in the way of your fist!

[–]3206 1 point2 points ago

You forgot the stupid "lol Australia is upside down and their animals are so dangerous" fuckfeast.

[–]LookingForAPunTime 1 point2 points ago

Dear god is that upside down thing grating. It's such a stale joke it makes "throw another shrimp on the barbie" look fresh.

I find it ironic that Americans choose to focus on the "Drop Bear" thing, when we have wide selection of actual spiders, snakes, crocodiles, and other fauna.

I guess Americans are raised to watch out for bears, while Australians are raised to watch out what you step on...

[–]92RS 6 points7 points ago

Another Canadian here, and I too am sorry for the blatant disrespect. Not only that, but he should have written, "Disregard the police force, PLEASE." I apologize for the poorly worded request.

[–]lindameetyoko 4 points5 points ago

I came here to say that it is in fact NOT Canadian vandalism. There is no note of apology of any kind next to it. But now you are apologizing on behalf of all Canadians. I am confused.

[–]AC_Mentor 2 points3 points ago

I apologize on behalf of Canada to everyone who were born in March, as it is also the month of Justin Bieber's birthday. Edit: please ignore this, the correct one should be "I apologize on behalf of Canada for Justin Bieber."

[–]shutupjoey 0 points1 point ago

Except Scott, he's a dick.

[–]EricThePooh 25 points26 points ago

It's the police service now. They changed it because force sounded too aggressive.

[–]dan_sundberg 5 points6 points ago

What made you want to become a policeman-officer?

[–]awesomenessisme 28 points29 points ago

Sorry.

[–]KissTheGeek -1 points0 points ago

Oh, god. That was so original!

[–]michaeljane 9 points10 points ago

This looks a bit... newly drawn.

[–]AceEnigmaX -1 points0 points ago

Op better be... Sorry?

This is all coming full circle now. D:<

[–]Xyranthis 9 points10 points ago

Quick! Someone throw a [Fixed] up with Decreux!

[–]Cayou 6 points7 points ago

Not Ducreux, but this one has been around for a while.

[–]theartfulcodger 7 points8 points ago

Isn't prefixed by "Kindly" or "Please".

Impostor.

... sorry ....

[–]SgtCool 3 points4 points ago

Official vocab guidelines state that we refer to it as the police service because "force" is to aggressive.

[–]sb95500 10 points11 points ago

No it can't be, the word "sorry" isn't written here anywhere.

[–]mavsman22 5 points6 points ago

Silly Canadian teenagers... They need better role models. Where's Robin Sparkles when you need her?

[–]omgimsuchadork 3 points4 points ago

I do believe she's at the mall with Jessica and Tori.

[–]jwall504 2 points3 points ago

It was probably these Canadians.

[–]nerph_herder 3 points4 points ago

Nope, I think it was these guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-ZvAVcBIrQ

[–]jwall504 3 points4 points ago

What is this gem?!?

[–]nerph_herder 2 points3 points ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_and_Doug_McKenzie Classic Canadian comedy, Bob and Doug McKenzie. (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) Also starred in a feature length movie "Strange Brew". An absolute classic.

[–]jwall504 2 points3 points ago

well i know what im doing tonight

[–]LpBoomhour 1 point2 points ago

[–]Just_pee_in_the_sink 1 point2 points ago

your link eventually brought me to this painfully lame yet hilarious video -25 signs you might be Canadian

[–]MuffinHTF 4 points5 points ago

This is clearly the work of Joseph Ducreux.

[–]draivaden 2 points3 points ago

We don't use the words "police force". Nor do we disregard them. We've been framed. but don't worry, we've got our best guys on.

Benton Fraser, of the RCMP. William Murdoch, of the Toronto Constabulary.

[–]hithazel 0 points1 point ago

Probably framed by Minnesotans.

[–]LaserGhost 2 points3 points ago

Disregard the mounties.

[–]alakalemon 0 points1 point ago

But... I like the mounties :(

[–]bloodsoup 0 points1 point ago

It's called the police service now. Political correctness and all that.

[–]monster01020 2 points3 points ago

"Actually it's the police service because force is seen as too aggressive."

[–]shiningflaire 0 points1 point ago

Up vote for you kind sir with your lovely reference.

[–]blackjackyo 0 points1 point ago

......eh

[–]c9silver 2 points3 points ago

Go fuck yourself. Please.

[–]jokiddy_jokester 0 points1 point ago

[–]poepower -1 points0 points ago

Regarts.

[–]CrazyShooter 0 points1 point ago

Would you kindly disregard the police force? FTFY

[–]wildcolonialboy 1 point2 points ago

Looks pretty fresh. I'm calling Karma Conspiracy on that.

[–]Ithashappened 0 points1 point ago

Wait..what is op doing at a playground?

[–]gunnin_and_runnin -1 points0 points ago

It's missing the "aye"

[–]goldfire 1 point2 points ago

[–]MedalsNScars 1 point2 points ago

That's not polite enough to be real Canadian vandalism. I went there once and saw the real deal. Spray painted on the side of a bridge was "Have a nice day!"

[–]pizzlethizzle 1 point2 points ago

This happened in Canada, right?

[–]Lord_Voltan 0 points1 point ago

But thats hockey related and they lost to American teams. Any polite person has something that can send them over the edge, hell even Flanders flipped his shit. If Flanders can, so too can Canadians.

[–]smartestkidonearth 0 points1 point ago

This one was Toronto, I believe. But Canada hates Toronto anyway.

[–]TheIrreverend 0 points1 point ago

No, just Vancouver.

[–]theshindig 0 points1 point ago

Ignore the constabulary!

[–]SerDelta 0 points1 point ago

Indubitably, my good sir.

[–]tyereliusprime 0 points1 point ago

Death to the Fascist Oppressors, Present Company Excepted!

[–]nerph_herder 0 points1 point ago

They're on to us eh?

[–]ajago12598 0 points1 point ago

They forgot 'please', what a silly mistake.

[–]scamperly 0 points1 point ago

Sorry

[–]makinglunch -1 points0 points ago

Canadians FTW

[–]chrissuit33 0 points1 point ago

It should also say "If it's not too much trouble"

[–]jjjeahh 0 points1 point ago

Canadian Shop Security: "It would be preferable if you don't steal anything."

[–]ilikerealmaplesyrup 0 points1 point ago

I wish we all sad this instead of "fuck". Sounds much more powerful.

[–]ub-a-dub 0 points1 point ago

that comment made me think of south park for some reason...

[–]Glompers 0 points1 point ago

[–]killerdead77 0 points1 point ago

As a unicorn , stop thinking that i puke rainbows...its not true.

[–]TheBlueButton 1 point2 points ago

Police farce.

[–]ConchordianFlight58 0 points1 point ago

We're really sorry.

[–]cat_handcuffs 0 points1 point ago

Not Canadians. They'd have written "Sorry" afterwards.

[–]NannyNumber4 1 point2 points ago

[–]sprawld 0 points1 point ago

Anarchists in my home town used to graffiti "Question Authority". I like polite anarchists.

[–]Falling_earbuds -1 points0 points ago

[–]cyberpop 0 points1 point ago

[–]ninjaonweekends 0 points1 point ago

There you go :)

Regards,

A Canadian

PS: I apologize if my French is a little rusty, but I am fairly certain that this is correct. Anyways, good day...

[–]AnnoyingOptimist 1 point2 points ago

It's fun to write in bold print

[–]BigMommasHouse3 0 points1 point ago

Good day everyone, I come from the area known as "Compton".

[–]Lord_Voltan 1 point2 points ago

One time I was in Windsor, Basking in your lax drinking laws. I scored some weed from a local we dubbed Canada John. Anyway, my friend and I were enjoying a joint behind a bar, when we were accosted by two uniformed law men. They informed us that what we were doing was illegal, and that we would need to stop. They made us snub out the joint and place it back in my cigarette pack. They then told us to have a good night and walked off oullette ave.

In another separate incident, I was shitfaced from $2 whiskey shots at papa Cheney's bar (not sure if it is still there, this was 2006.) My friends and I decided to stumble to the river front to take pictures. Before long we were shouting obscenities across the river at Detroit, and Michigan in general (I am from Ohio). I was digging deep, calling Ann Arbor a whore, and laughing at them for losing Toledo in a brief incident between Ohio, and Michigan in the early 1800's. A cop pulled up and started telling us that it was illegal to be drunk in public. Then he gave us a lecture about having pride in ones country. anyway, nothing came of it and we were told to go back to our hotel. I love Canadian lawmen.

[–]lurxxor 0 points1 point ago

Dear Canada, sorry, but can we trade police forces please? Thank you. Sincerely, America.

[–]FuckNotAMethAddict 1 point2 points ago

Please disregard the police force, sorry.

Fixed

[–]tousie 0 points1 point ago

sorry

[–]matty323 0 points1 point ago

Were these actual canadians, they would have said constabulary.

Probably Minnesotan vandals.

[–]pistolwhipped 0 points1 point ago

Friendliest people I have ever met! Love, love, LOVE Canada!!!

[–]Phoequinox 0 points1 point ago

Nah, man. This is like old timey British politeness. Canadians would write "Sorry for the police."

[–]Beileef 0 points1 point ago

Sorry, it's just magic marker. Sorry.

[–]yannburger 0 points1 point ago

It clearly isn't Canadian. It isn't paired with an apology.

[–]dma1965 0 points1 point ago

Definitely not a Canadian. A Canadian would have said please.

[–]500CID 0 points1 point ago

And it would be in both English and French Canadiene, you know for les Québécois... Ps I'm Canadian lol

[–]DiabeticKid 0 points1 point ago

Sorry... Shouldent give me a sharpie when im drunk. Shit gets Kray

[–]BonTonVon 0 points1 point ago

Disregard the police force, Coming right from within the below decks

[–]KnowLimits 0 points1 point ago

I'm slightly annoyed and I will, most likely, continue to acquiesce.

[–]onfia 0 points1 point ago

literacy != friendliness.

[–]ProjectOrigin 0 points1 point ago

As a Canadian, I would like to say to try poutine. If you don't....well...I'm sorry if you don't.

[–]TexasWithADollarsign 1 point2 points ago

Ah yes, I remember the song "Disregard the Police" by Canadian rap group Public Apology.

[–]canadianwombat 0 points1 point ago

Ok, we're sorry.

[–]poonslyr69 1 point2 points ago

[–]nawoanor 0 points1 point ago

Just out of frame: OP's hand holding a marker.

[–]maraedits 0 points1 point ago

As a Canadian, sorry...

[–]beno2367 1 point2 points ago

Also, official vocab guidelines require us to say police service now. police force sounds too aggressive

[–]Fenrirr 0 points1 point ago

West coast police are the best cops ever, mid-Quebec police though >.>

[–]Dud3wtf 0 points1 point ago

Disregard the Police Force, Stemming from the underground, Young teens like me are unfortunate due to being brown, Not the Whites so the police force have in mind, They have rights to kill a black and it isn't a crime.

[–]meancommentredditor 0 points1 point ago

Disregard females, acquire currency.

[–]v3n0mat3 0 points1 point ago

It would be most assuredly Canadians, if, on the ground around it, there's a bottle of Maple syrup, a Hockey stick, and a stuffed Beaver.

We call it "Canuck sign".

[–]daiev 1 point2 points ago

That's too aggressive, it should read police service

[–]Un1ock 0 points1 point ago

I think the person who wrote this has been listening to way too many Will Smith songs.

[–]I_AmCanadian 0 points1 point ago

Sorry bout that. Won't happen again

[–]marcdaniel 0 points1 point ago

dont worry, you know if it's a canadian because it's washable marker.

[–]slcrook 0 points1 point ago

I debate this, the proper way to say it in Canadian is "the local constabulary are invited to intercourse."

[–]Oussama123 0 points1 point ago

It's Joseph Ducreux!

[–]wuzizname 1 point2 points ago

How rude to not say please? Really, it's not hard to say please.

[–]IMASINNAH 0 points1 point ago

As a Canadian, I can certify this graffiti is non-Canadian. If it were written by one of us, it would have read:

"Disregard the police force, buddy."

[–]MrNicholasCage 0 points1 point ago

Fornicate the police

[–]putin_my_ass 0 points1 point ago

Disregard the police force, acquire incarceration.

[–]Lilzillaz 0 points1 point ago

if it was Canadian, it would say "disregard the mounties, please".

[–]skipper224 0 points1 point ago

sorry about that..

[–]English-Gentlefolk 0 points1 point ago

It's a shame he spelled constabulary wrong.

[–]FarFromXanadu 0 points1 point ago

Sorry boot that.

[–]kgambito 0 points1 point ago

This was written with a dry-erase marker.

[–]jaja1948 0 points1 point ago

FUCK the POlice
