If the stats are true then 1 in 100 adults in the US is in prison. That's a lot of mothers and fathers. Is it really so wtf that books like these exist to help children understand the situation?

[–]Scoldering 11 points12 points ago

Exactly, too much wrong shit ends up in WTF that's merely insightful or cute but not outright aww.

[–]very_old_guy 11 points12 points ago

This is 0% WTF. There are thousands and thousands of books for helping parents explain sad / scary / confusing stuff to young children, and this is one of them.

[–]clamsmasher 10 points11 points ago

Oh man, wish my daughter had this book a few months ago. Would've been less stressful.

[–]Wackywasty 3 points4 points ago

Aaaaaand now I'm sad.

[–]animalcule 6 points7 points ago

Honestly I can see how this might seem a little odd, but it could really help if a young child's parent went to jail. It would be hard/stressful to try to explain to a very young child in understandable terms, and a picture book would probably help a lot.

This was funny the first three times.

[–]pilotoatomico 2 points3 points ago

Funny due to the fact that the father was in jail three times? Or because it's been reposted numerous times?

I enjoyed the (hopefully) facetious Amazon reviews.

Sadly, I have a use for this...... :(

:( This is sad

It's kind of sad that someone wrote that book- but it's kind of good that it exists.

So... I don't know what to think, other than the sad bunny is kinda cute.

[–]nancydrewa32 1 point2 points ago

...what can a rabbit do to get sent to jail!?! I MUST KNOW!

Old Pete was arrested during the FBI raid called "Easter Sunday" apparently he was a cock fighter......

I found a book in a little cousin's room about a girls mother going through chemo, losing her hair and whatnot :\

I've heard about that book and if my mom gave me that book I would be even more depressed. Its just because I think that book is for little little kids that even if you read it to them they still won't fully understand. So you can try to read the book to kids but either they won't fully understand or will be even more reminded of there parent's situation.

So much repost.

Re-post!

The saddest part of this book is that anyone who needs it won't have the foresight, forethought or parenting ability to get it or use it.

[–]EmilyamI 2 points3 points ago

Because one parent messes up doesn't mean the other parent/grandparents/brothers and sister/aunts and uncles have no parenting ability.
