Well leeches are still used an awful lot in modern medicine.

I'm not trying to advertise this video but I think it does a good job at explaining some of the other Biblical treatments.

Leviticus 14 - Leprosy cure.

This would be great for the picture because no one in there right mind would choose this over modern medicine.

indeed, they are used in microsurgery to repair small blood vessels and nerves

I think it should be noted that intelligent design isn't the same thing as creationism. Intelligent design is kind of like a mix of evolution and creationism. ID basically says that certain things in nature are the work of a creator and the rest evolved, the often cited one of these is the flagellum motor in bacteria, an extremely complex organelle. Creationism is just God created everything as it is now, end of story.

ummmmm...... ID is not a mix of creationism and evolution.

They emphasize how they think things like the flagellum were created, but everything else they also think was created.

ID is a rebranding of Creationism when Creationism was ruled to not be allowed in schools. You can see the direct chance in the use of the two words here :http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/Pandas_text_analysis.png - this is the from the main textbooks used by both ID's and Creationist.

It's the same bull, with different names.

Actually the Flat Earth Society takes the UN logo's depiction of the continents as being accurate, not what's shown in this comic.

Am I the only one who chuckled at the suns face? Just me?

[–]InternetSam 1 point2 points ago

No it's not.

RIP New Zealand

[–]GOD_Over_Djinn 1 point2 points ago

There's very little evidence that anyone in the last two thousand years, aside from the flat earth society, has believed that the earth is flat.

But don't let that get in the way of bashing some stupid fundies.

I believe the notion of "intelligent design" is way more complicated and subtil than Creationism

EDIT : Wow, really ? Downvotes because I pointed a grammatical fact ?

[–]thekingroc -1 points0 points ago

It's actually spelled subtle, and regardless of it's being more nuanced that creationism, ID is just as baseless.

[–]tamatoaCoco 0 points1 point ago

Say that to numerous particle physicists and string theory physicist that don't imagine something beyong the limit of their knowledge

I don't believe in Creationism, I'm just pointing out that some high-level scientists are thinking about this possibility and I wonder why.

[–]Ignaddio -1 points0 points ago

Show me a list of scientists that accept Intelligent Design and I'll show you a longer list of scientists named Steve that don't.
