Made my friends sit through the entire credits of The Avengers to watch the shawarma scene.... apparently it wasn't put in the UK release x(

[–]kgisaboss 2 points3 points ago

I forgot about the shwarma scene. It's not online, so now I have to wait until the movie comes out on DVD.

[–]mattarei 0 points1 point ago

I maganed to find a really crappy cam version of it on youtube at one point, probably been taken down by now though

[–]Mrodhawks 41 points42 points ago

How do people not know by now that there is more after credits

[–]ComputerSavvy 24 points25 points ago

You look it up on Mediastinger before you goto the movies, saves you time and lets the cleaning crew have enough time before the next showing.

[–]GigaWat42 18 points19 points ago

This, so much this. Then people might not sit through the entire credits of TDKR and theatre turnover could go faster

[–]SWgeek10056 6 points7 points ago

Why the fuck would anyone downvote this? Don't you people understand this means others will exit the theater faster so you can get in sooner?

[–]IAmNoneYa 8 points9 points ago

Interesting choice in bolding

[–]Todomanna 4 points5 points ago

Woo! Then we can listen to crappy radio and those stupid trivia things for the next hour! Awesome!

[–]GigaWat42 0 points1 point ago

Our IMAX actually doesnt have previews for TDKR due to its length, so no crappy radio for you today at least.

[–]Chumlee 3 points4 points ago

I actually sit through the entire credits of movies I thought were near perfect. It is the only way to recognize the work of everyone who put effort into the movie. That best grip worked hard to be in the credits, he deserves the note.

[–]Revoluzzer 1 point2 points ago

I tell my friends the same thing. People worked on that movie and while I can not thank them personally, I can at least watch the credits. Usually there is some unique credits soundtrack, too. Or the best tracks from the movie again. Or jokes (think The Naked Gun).

tl;dr watch credits where credit is due

[–]GigaWat42 1 point2 points ago

Fair enough, I can respect that point of view. But it will always be one of those minor peeves that make the job slightly more obnoxious than it needs to be.

[–]anonymous123421 1 point2 points ago

Also in IMDB's crazy credits sections

[–]DuckReconMajor 0 points1 point ago

It tells you whether there's something after the credits? Where?

[–]ComputerSavvy 0 points1 point ago

If you look in the "Latest Movies In Theaters" section for example, you'll see if there is or is not a stinger during / after the credits. If you click on the movie, they'll give you a little more detail and there is a link to any spoilers if any in blue.

[–]DuckReconMajor 0 points1 point ago

Thanks!

Friend of a Marvel fan here. We know. We just don't care.

[–]kazekaida 7 points8 points ago

I went to see the Avengers with my husband, his co-worker, and co-worker's girlfriend. Right before the credits began to roll I told her to sit tight for a second, but half way through the credits she began to get antsy which caused an unintended "woman, sit the fuck DOWN" look from me.

Afterwards she said the movie was "meh." All of my rage.

[–]olaf13579 5 points6 points ago

What I say at a marvel film's credits: "let's just watch the end bit on YouTube, the next train's in an hour"

[–]psychosomaticism 0 points1 point ago

And youtube doesn't have the added bonus of cleaning staff glaring at you.

[–]Drunken__Master 8 points9 points ago

from working in a movie theater I absolutely hate these ! Now people will stay til the very end of almost any movie to see if there is extra content and it makes it almost impossible to get the theater clean before the next showing. God forbid there's a birthday party planned for that movie. Scumbag Marvel/Disney.

[–]THENAMAZU 14 points15 points ago

I usually sit around with my friends waiting for extra scenes after the credits in movie theatres. I don't see how it's a problem, I mean I payed to see the whole film, didn't I?

[–]Drunken__Master 6 points7 points ago

It's totally your right to do so, but you're not the one that has to explain to the next group of people why there's a wait to get in the theater are you ?

[–]THENAMAZU 3 points4 points ago

I honestly didn't even know I was making people wait. I'd assume that they would allow the movie to run until the credits are over and that the next movie would be scheduled to a time slot that is after the movie I've payed to watch. But yeah, I can see how that could be a bit annoying then.

[–]finbarwaterford 0 points1 point ago

I don't understand the snark. The credits are part of the movie. If there is not enough time to prep the theatre after the credits are done, then it's poor planning on the cinemas fault, not the person who paid 12 dollars to see the flick.

[–]Drunken__Master 0 points1 point ago

It's one of those things that could easily with minimal effort be resolved by a manager, but won't be and leads to huge frustrations for the floorstaff. Just one of those irksome things that are present in all retail and service jobs.

[–]GigaWat42 2 points3 points ago

I just wish people wouldn't sit and wait for nothing. If it is there, please, by all means, wait.

[–]Chaster321 5 points6 points ago

You have to admit, the movies are pretty good.

[–]Drunken__Master 2 points3 points ago

I've been a comic geek for years, I'm glad we have the technology to be doing superhero movies well, even characters that I always thought were lame ended up with good movies.

[–]Mobidad 2 points3 points ago

Couldn't the employees tell the people whether or not to stay after the movie?

"Hey guys, stick around after the credits for a cool extra!"

"Hey guys, I've watched this movie already, there is nothing extra after the credits."

[–]Drunken__Master 0 points1 point ago

I actually have told people there were no scenes after the credits and they didn't believe me.

[–]youcanttakemeserious -1 points0 points ago

Fuck you for down voting chaster

[–]Drunken__Master 3 points4 points ago

Idk what you're talking about, If you're constantly this delusional and paranoid you may want to consider psychiatric help.

[–]youcanttakemeserious -1 points0 points ago

Says the person on the internet

[–]Drunken__Master 1 point2 points ago

whoever said I was a person ?

[–]SuperJordan 0 points1 point ago

R.I.P. Billy Mayes

[–]jg90 1 point2 points ago

Was there anything shown at the end of Avengers Assemble?

[–]Lokieda 2 points3 points ago

Yes, a small but funny scene. Sorry I don't want to say what because of spoiler reasons. Also after that a more story driven extra.

[–]Thor4269 0 points1 point ago

It's online anyway... Shwarma!

[–]catintheboxtheory 1 point2 points ago

But wait, there's more! Stay now and will throw in a teaser for the next movie. Order the blu-ray today and receive free holographic trading cards. You must hurry supplies are limited!

[–]Siebutsu 1 point2 points ago

His beard is so damn perfect...

[–]reynej 1 point2 points ago

I missed the end of the Avengers. I still don't know what I missed.

[–]Drunken__Master 1 point2 points ago

1st they're sitting at a resteraunt, then they show Thanos.

[–]Abrohmtoofar 2 points3 points ago

actually, its in the other order, Thanos is mid credit, restraunt is afterwards

[–]XDIX 0 points1 point ago

Except for First Class. I looked like an idiot :(

[–]The_other_Aphex_twin 0 points1 point ago

Marvel has produced nothing but lackluster "beat up the bad guy" films. I thought Christopher Nolan did an absolutely terrific job of rebooting not only batman, but the entire superhero genre.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the avengers, but I expected more from a film that grossed a billion fucking dollars.

[–]klownxxx 0 points1 point ago

oh my god, they are going to DOUBLE THE OFFER?! WHERES MY PHONE?!

[–]Lilyo 0 points1 point ago

I waited hoping there'd be more after the Dark Knight Rises but then gave up when the 2nd credits came up and just walked out... WAS THERE MORE?

[–]Skyguy95 0 points1 point ago

I do this for all movies because of marvel, in hopes of seeing an after-credit clip, but I always stay for nothing.

[–]Pamander 0 points1 point ago

I never stay for them it feels really awkward.

[–]FishInTheTrees 0 points1 point ago

Always wait until the house lights to go up. They already know if there's more to watch.

[–]merzachief 0 points1 point ago

I was going to upload this... but it currently has 1111 upvotes. I couldn't mess that up.

[–]graknoir 0 points1 point ago

Thing is, after spending the majority of 90 minutes in a seat with a modest level of comfort, i usually don't care enough to wait. Even when i know theres going to be a little something.

It's rarely mindblowing and odds are you will see it on the dvd several times anyway; assuming you you don't pull it up on youtube on the drive home.

[–]captainFacepalm 0 points1 point ago

This is what I tell my friends after every cutscene at the end of MGS4.

[–]MarinoG113 0 points1 point ago

Someone told me there was a cool scene at the end of Hulk (the Edward Norton film), and so I waited for the credits to end. I still a kind of mad about that one.

The Avengers was so terrible I couldn't wait to get out. Left even though I knew there would be more bullshit.
