Seriously, it's not fucking hard. "Awkward silences" are the result of extreme bilateral social ineptitude. And (arguably, of course) social acuity is one of the most important things any person can learn. It helps you function in this world.

this reminds me of a story. my friend was in a club and was super drunk, to the point where he had to puke. he ran into the bathroom and threw open the first stall door, which happened to be occupied by a guy minding his own business, just poopin (don't ask me why the guy didn't lock the door). unable to hold it back long enough to move to the next stall, my friend puked all over the guy. like all over. most people would start to apologize profusely, or just run away. not my friend. in his drunken stupor logic, decided to try and make the guy not remember it, punched him in the face, and then ran away. poor guy was just minding his own business poopin, then gets puked on, then punched in the face.

tl;dr my really drunk friend puked on someone, punched them, and ran away
