More money for the ATM company. Each transaction is 1-3 bucks and if there's a cap of let's say $50 they make the fee x3 for you to buy that 8 ball of cocaine!

I actually truly work for a business that sells wholesale ATMs... and I have never seen one of these. Not saying it's not an ATM... but I'm saying that is more likely a pay station with a cash back option.

Are tabs real things? Do people in every day life actually get a "tab"? I ask because living in the UK and being only 22, I've only ever seen anyone get a tab in an American movie or TV show.

Yeah, it's fairly common in the states. You go in, hand them your credit card and at the end of the night you look at your bar tab and swear they added other peoples drinks to your tab. But you're too drunk to argue and then you have to pee so you forget all about it.

Until the next day and then you get really sad.

I have seen people run up 5000 USD bar tabs in the Caribbean in a night.. Many bars have a Roledex of tens of thousands of dollars receivables in the form of bar tabs.

When I was living in Philly, my car got towed and the fee was $207. I had to use cash because "The credit card machine was broken". When I ran outside to get into the cab I had hired, he had left (after I paid him an extra $5 to stick around for 10 seconds), so I had to find the nearest ATM and get... 207 dollars.

And THEN, it turns out the fucking towing company wouldn't make change for a 20, so I ended up going through my pockets for the extra 7 bucks. I was 5 cents short. Thankfully I got a break and the lady spotted me for it.

When I got in my car, I thought long and hard about throwing all my shit into it and driving out of Philly forever. I should have.

This is false. Bars don't need this. Example- My band played a gig in VA. As we were small and it was our first gig (across the street from the bass player), it was all of our friends at the bar. After the gig, we're all drinking. One of the bass player's friends who we'll call Rich Guy buys me like 6 car bombs. Rich literally is Rich. His dad owns some huge Greek company, he was born into money, and his own business is amazingly successful. The best part about him though is that he's modest. He offers to buy drinks but never rubs it in your face like "I can and you can't". If you offer him a drink, he accepts. He just happens to buy drinks for people way faster than people can buy drinks for him. And the more drunk he gets, the more he buys drinks for others. Basically, he's real humble, this is almost important later. Anyway, everyone slept on the floor or somewhere in the bass player and his roommate's apartment. Cut to the next day, we're back at the same bar/restaurant for breakfast. Rich Guy looks at his bar tab from the night before, puts his head in a hand and goes "oh, it was one of thooose nights..." His tab was $550. FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS. Everyone who was at breakfast offered to buy back their drinks from him because we thought his tab was insane. He says "no man it's not a big deal to me moneywise, it's just a big deal to me controlling-my-blackout-selfwise." The thing that blew my mind is the way that he said "it's one of those nights" means that they happen often, and he never has an issue with the money. Bars love those guys

Haha that's awesome for you. I have found beautiful, and I have found stupid expensive, but not both in the same place. I lived in Washington DC area for a while (where stupid cheap is CRAZY expensive elsewhere) and I moved to Charleston, SC (which is honestly the nicest place I have ever been to in my life, AND it is cheaper). I'm young and single and stuff though so we'll see where life takes me
