I too am gay, however, the word faggot has evolved much past the slanderous use for what it once was as derogatory towards a homosexual. A lot of gay people and friends that I know get all upset whenever somebody uses that word out of context when in reality they are just using the same insult as douche bag or fucktard. I believe the gay community is taking this word and making it offensive now, for just the sake of being offensive. You calling those who up-voted the posters assholes should be just as derrogative as us calling the OP a faggot, simply because it is just a word used to offend someone having little to no meaning whatsoever. Besides, given the direction the future is going, nothing that anybody can say or do is going to stop the wave of insults because society will just find a new word. If people stop saying faggot, they will just say another word, such as bloobenheim. Bloobenheim is meaningless, however, it can be derrogative towards whoever we want, Blacks, Jews, or Gay people. It is meaningless. Gays are relatively accepted into our community already and the homophobia will only increase if every homosexual is offended by little words such as faggot. Every human lives roughly 84.7 years on average. That is very little time. Everyone should learn to stop wasting their lives being offended by worthless shit and learn to ignore it and just learn to suck it up and enjoy life for what little of it we have left. Sorry for disagreeing with you, but this is just my opinion, as it was everybody elses opinion that the OP was a faggot. If we truly want to be progressive, society as a whole must learn to push past these petty insults and actually accept them for what they are, words. In short, stop being a faggot and suck that dick.
