Nice gif! Is that Emma Stone?

Leslie knope is my favorite tv character

It is kind of silly to say, but she is really inspiring. That being said, I love Liz Lemon more....

Not to mention that I'm so grumpy that I want to take all of my friends and family members with me when I go...

I took some pain killers before gong into work today (That's a first for me, I can't operate machinery when I take them and I work a table saw all day) So I was a little high and thus smiling just like this gif when I explained I was about to die.

I feel like my fallopian tubes are having a knife fight.

I once took nine ibuprofen in a few hours and my cramps would still not go away.

I don't if it's just me, but my first period after getting an IUD is HELL.

This is exactly how I felt before getting on the pill. Now shark week so much more tolerable. I usually only have cramps for about an hour, and they're not too bad.

Yeah, I'm lucky enough to be able to tolerate hormonal BC. Before I was on the pill I would get nauseous for the first 2 days of my period, and I would soak through a super plus tampon AND pad every few hours for the first few days. Then it was about a week to a week+ long. Now with the pill I don't ever need pads, I don't get nauseous, I don't get migraines, my cramps are barely there and I can DO STUFF like go to work or school when I have my period. Before I'd have to miss work or school or whatever and just stay in bed, nauseous and super crampy.

Hormonal BC is amazing for me.

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. I remember those days of just staying at home curled up with a heating pad and ibuprofen, and still not feeling any better. I've been on birth control pills for half of my life now, and I plan to stay on them until menopause. I'm kind of afraid of blood clots and other side effects that tend to get worse with age, but I just can't imagine trying to live with the kind of cramps I used to get.

[–]scaredsquee 4 points5 points ago

Omg the heating pad! Hormonal BC has made me forget those exist! I used to live with one on my lower abdomen. One time I even had a little burn because I had it cranked up too high haha wow, shit. I wish I went on them sooner but I was afraid of the warning about migraines and I get those on my own wonderfully. But the hormonal BC has DECREASED my migraines, so it's a double win for me. I started them just last year, it hasn't even been a year I don't think. I should've started them when I was 16-17, when my periods started to get out of control. For the first ~3 years of my menstrual cycle I had zero cramps or anything, it just kind of showed up. But then it was like living hell. So yeah, 10 years could've been a lot easier. Oh well, I have it now and I'm happy :)

so this is normal? i was on depo provera for 8 years so at this point, i have not been menstruating for longer than i have. i finally stopped getting the shot about 6 mo ago so my periods are starting up again, and they just suck. and you're telling me this is NORMAL?! oi...
