Obviously sarcasm.

[–]qshoe1 2 points3 points ago

Yeah this guys right

[–]Speaking-of-segues 6 points7 points ago

Upon further investigation I can confirm this checks out

[–]decoyninja 2 points3 points ago

My sources have verified this as well.

[–]babyeatingathiest 0 points1 point ago

It is apparent that the current consensus between specialist converge on that conclusion as well.

[–]Guthor 5 points6 points ago

This makes more sense to me ATHEISM

The arrogant belief that the Universe was not "created"

[–]EpicDougC 6 points7 points ago

Yeah, I saw this a while ago and thought "wouldn't it be arrogant if you think everything WAS just for you?"

[–]tjenator 8 points9 points ago

You..: You realize this is sarcastic right?

[–]Whiskee 8 points9 points ago

that awkward moment when religious arguments get so dumb you aren't sure if someone is being sarcastic or not anymore. You'd be surprised.

[–]MyLifeForSpire 2 points3 points ago

that awkward moment when on December 21, 2012, all the religious people in the world stand up and admit they've been part of the most long-lasting elaborate trolling of all humanity... "end of the world as we know it"...

[–]KalElKent821 0 points1 point ago

Oh my science! That would be amazing!

[–]EpicDougC 0 points1 point ago

I know, it's just first time I saw it a Christian had posted it on another sight as if it's against atheism.

[–]TheShadyCat 0 points1 point ago

same thought here. Apparently they didn't know how arrogance works. Go figure!

[–]avandor 2 points3 points ago

I think they misspelled logical, but if that's arrogance, I'm okay with it.

[–]five_hammers_hamming 2 points3 points ago

I swear, I first saw this as a sort of parody/serious thing made by our side, meant to demonstrate how our position is quite the opposite of arrogant.

Have a few batshit-nutso religioats taken the words literally and found them true?

[–]Nonbeing 0 points1 point ago

I think your first impression was correct; that's what I assumed, too.

[–]houndoftindalos 2 points3 points ago

You say "arrogant" as if it were a bad thing. If there is no humanity, there is no consciousness to ascribe meaning to anything. I personally don't give a shit about any kind of world without people in it.

[–]Sutanreyu 0 points1 point ago

Do you play video games?

[–]houndoftindalos 0 points1 point ago

Yes. I assume what you're getting at is "Why do you like games because people don't occupy those worlds" The difference is that a universe without humanity is a universe without the human mind. A video game world is a world created by the human mind.

[–]qshoe1 1 point2 points ago

This was a facetious joke made by atheists..

[–]GreyEarth 0 points1 point ago

Even if.

Even IF, the universe was all created for us, what makes us think we deserve it?

[–]Ruffianmac233 0 points1 point ago

Hell yea dude u deserve up votes

[–]Late1110 1 point2 points ago

IMO this is somewhat incorrect, since not believing in religions where universe was created for humans doesn't make you an atheist.

[–]ohnoTHATguy123 1 point2 points ago

I've seen this here before....a couple of times...i have to downvote.

[–]Gigcycle -1 points0 points ago

As a Christian, I don't think the universe was created for us. It was created for God.

[–]errstl 1 point2 points ago

This is a great example of Poe's law.

[–]EOTWAWKI 1 point2 points ago

Actually - more like 200 - 400 billion galaxies.

[–]thymeismoney 0 points1 point ago

I had to reread that to make sure that made sense. Yeah, it doesn't.

[–]mitchrsmert 1 point2 points ago

False. Not "billion". 125+ billion by current estimate.

[–]Shadow250000 0 points1 point ago

belief thought

FTFY

[–]MalignantPineapple 1 point2 points ago

Poe's Law?

...Poe's Law.

[–]squigs 0 points1 point ago

The claim isn't that atheism is arrogant. It's that atheists are. There's a very strong "We're right, you're wrong" attitude (Which is ironic when most atheists seem to claim to simply lack belief so don't even have a position).

An arrogant statement that you're not arrogant doesn't do a lot to affect this perception.

Repost'd

[–]gamligaur 0 points1 point ago

I see what you did there...

[–]Frigg1nAwesome -3 points-2 points ago

Sarcasm is funny.

I think some of the criticism of being "arrogant" also comes from atheists' tendency to denounce religious speculation as not being factual due to lack of empirical or substantial evidence to support it. So basically... they call atheists arrogant for calling facts factual, calling speculation speculative and not humoring the idea a divine creator just made it that way.
