Meta Knight became my character of choice for Brawl for a while, not because of his special moves, but because of his quick-response normal attacks, to make up for the slower gameplay (well, slower than Melee). Much frustration and cries of unfairness ensued from my friends, throwing out claims of Meta Knight being OP.

Then I proceeded to destroy them with Mario, and that seemed to shut them up.

I do a combo of down special if they have high percentage, and if that doesn't kill them and they try to jump back to the ledge I do the Gatling Gun move. Pisses everyone off haaaaa.

N64 was and still is an excellent party game. But Melee is the superior competitive fighter. Brawl fits somewhere in between the two...with Project M giving it a little more credibility.

It has been released! Version 2.1 at this point, with updates few and far between, but usually quite substantial. Not a full cast of characters at this point (I believe 29 so far), but enough to have a great time!

It's not too difficult to set up, if you've got an SD card handy and the patience to follow the basic instructions!

How exactly did your Wii break down? If you still have the console, official mail-in repairs through Nintendo cost about $80. I can't say for certain, but I sent mine in a few years back, and got it in the mail 2 days later, good as new! Just a suggestion ;)

Oh, this was a few years back, so I don't think I'd get any kind of warranty deal, but it's worth a try. My brother was playing a GC game with a wired controller, and I came up from behind to scare him. Unfortunately his reaction was to instinctively jerk the controller backwards, pulling the Wii off of the 5 foot shelf it was sitting on. Probably a bad judgement call on my part :/

The Wii is still mostly functional, and retains all of our save files, but only stays on for about half an hour, then shuts down. I've been looking around, and used Wiis are going for about $70, so I may very well just mail in the old one, because I'd hate to lose my Virtual Console games (unless those can be transferred to an SD card?). Thanks for the tip!

Mine was damaged the same way! Via tripping over the controller cords haha. My warranty was expired (by one month T_T), but that's why it cost $80, instead of nothing at all! Again, this was a few years back, so I'm not sure if it still works that way. Look into it!!

Mostly in melee, but I grew up on smash64.

If I conveyed distaste for the game it was a mistake, it was more like when you think about your love's crooked smile, not something that is traditionally beautiful, but because of that it is so much more gorgeous.

Yeah, but Ike has a wide range like you wouldn't believe. I had a friend that I introduced to Brawl, and despite only having played for a few days, he would always manage to catch me with those wide-reaching sword swings of his. Pretty frustrating at times.

Slower but more powerful attacks if landed.

This coming from someone who prefers Ike over Marth. If I can land the side c-stick move, and you're over 70% you are off the screen.

If you're not terrible, you can usually guage when/where people are going to land and for the most part get them in the confusion. Also Ike has the side-b charge move where he shoots across the screen very fast and almost always lands a hit. Combine that with his good aeirals and you've got a pretty good character.

And no you are not going to dodge every single move, you make it sound like Ike is the epitome of slow. He is still reasonably fast and can definitely hold is own if you aren't half retarded.
