that thing still scares me

Is that CGI? I know it's Aladdin but it sure looks like it.

Ever since the '90s, Disney animation has been pretty fucking cutting-edge. Likely why they're so adamant about keeping Pixar. There's no way even Disney can compete with Pixar. Tangled and Wreck It Ralph don't look nearly as good as Up, Finding Nemo or Brave.

Interesting. I didn't realize it went so far back.

Arguably, it goes back to the '80s with The Little Mermaid, but sometime between that and Beauty And The Beast, they started to really kick ass. Mostly with perspectives. Making it feel like the cartoon is 3-Dimensional.

That's some kind of talent. Not being able to draw perspective adequately is what has gotten me into 3d animation, which has its own difficulties but is at least everything is consistent no matter what direction you are looking.

Actually Pixar was made because they wanted to do something 2D animation couldn't. They wanted to help improve 2D animation but ironically made it less popular.

I love that line...I always greet my sister with that line when she rings my doorbell.

Who just said those words in the grumbling voice in the movie?

[–]Karmagusta00 1 point2 points ago

And I didn't even see the movie!

[–]Zambookidotcom 1 point2 points ago

For shame! Go watch it!

Sorry for this comment, my reddit said there were 3 comments, but when I checked, there were only 2. I had to fix that.

Working 3rd shift and sleeping during the day, I use this line anytime anyone calls and wakes me up...

I have this weird fantasy idea to cut up footage from classic films where characters cut back and forth when they talk, and replace one character with the cave of wonders, voicing over everything in his voice. I've wanted to do this for a really long time, but I never feel like actually doing it.

I think I'm a pretty weird dude.
