My tone and wording was me being proud that I never took drugs.

I'm proud to be drug free, I grew up in an enviroment where I watched people take illegal substances on a daily basis and I saw how it destroyed their lives and the lives of the people around them. In the ghetto where I grew up nearly everybody was on something, or knew somebody on something. And it ruined everything for us. Instead of having responsible, contributing members of society that would try to make a difference and a better way of life for themselves and the people around them we were stuck with deadbeats and addicts that would escape into a drug fueled oblivion at the first chance they could get. We had cops that would abuse people, several cops raped women in my neighborhood, my mother included, and nothing was ever done to them because of how shitty our area was. Nobody ever believes drug users, and since druggies never try to make a difference (they never try to aim higher than what they already got and their next high) we were fucked. Everybody there was fucked.

So I am fucking proud of my D.A.R.E. shirt. I am fucking proud to be drug free. I escaped from a hell hole fueled by drugs and misery and worked my ass off to become a better person. I am honestly sorry that you can't understand that people have different reasons to be against drugs, but that does not mean I will back down from my statement nor my viewpoint on them.

Do not call me ignorant again, kid. I have seen the effects of drugs on people I grew up with first hand. I have watched them, friends and family, die because they couldn't escape the hell they put themselves in. I don't care if you smoke weed all fucking day long, it's your fucking life. But I can, and will, look down on it.

Learn some more about life before you go about saying shit like "ignorant judgement on the realities of drug use." Not everybody grew up in a middle class neighborhood with all their little white friends smoking pot behind their precious fucking school cuz it was "cool".
