Here is something for OP!

[–]mwmwmwmwmmdw 7 points8 points ago

a reposter is satans slave

[–]TucaTuca 3 points4 points ago

I used think "Oh wow, I can't believe they would put that on their signs". Now I'm skeptical(Skeptical Atheist? I know right!) of EVERY sign I see.

I think this needs to stop. They give us enough ammo with out having to make shit up. It just makes us look desperate to start shit and judgmental.

[–]gondor2222 1 point2 points ago

It's usually very easy to tell if it's fake from the jpg artefacts around the text. A very small amount of blurriness occurs around the letters usually as a result of the translucent card the letter is placed on, but jpg artefacts from shopping a sign are usually so obvious that this isn't a problem. This one was actually harder to see as fake than the others; the jpg artefacts are quite a bit fainter.

[–]shooter190 0 points1 point ago

It's not fake. I saw this before in real life (not the exact church but it had the same message).

As an extian, my mom told me a long time ago that if I've learned too much outside of the Bible and learned of "the world," I would lose my faith.

She's right.

I know he is a karma whore because he has not posted a single reply or comment in his own post.

Norwegian proverb: Tyv tror at hver mann stjeler. Translation: Thief thinks that everybody steals.

[–]Grindstone50k 6 points7 points ago

I read this in the Swedish Chef voice.

[–]eamantite 17 points18 points ago

I'm pretty sure I made this using the church sign generator, I'm kinda blown away this was reposted...

[–]eamantite 1 point2 points ago

I was trolololololin'

[–]Wynns -1 points0 points ago

I wish I didn't feel like I have to comment on this sign every time it's posted... it's 100% real and from my town. Saw it with my own eyes when originally posted.

[–]PocketHobbit 15 points16 points ago

I am indeed a slave to the laws of science and physics.

[–]Capta1nPlanet 12 points13 points ago

That sucks dude maybe if you didn't think so freely you would be able to embrace magic

[–]Owlsrule12 0 points1 point ago

Free thinking means you have the choice to decide between magic and science. You take the time to really figure out which is best. It doesn't mean you will automatically accept ideas that are different than your own. It only means you'll consider them

[–]thomyorke64 2 points3 points ago

It's probably good to have a healthy respect for gravity.

[–]V0ltaire85 0 points1 point ago

At first they were like:

SATAN'S SLAVE!

And then I was like:

Mhmmmmmmm

[–]ihopeirememberthisun 4 points5 points ago

I think psychologists call that projection.

[–]ILL_Show_Myself_Out 5 points6 points ago

War is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength.

[–]LOUD_PERSON -2 points-1 points ago

HEY I'M READING THAT RIGHT NOW

I LIKE IT

[–]A_Manslayer 2 points3 points ago

This sounds like Warhammer 40k.

[–]SuperDestructo 2 points3 points ago

An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded.

[–]A_Manslayer 1 point2 points ago

That's the one, I just didn't remember it word by word.

Seriously I remember joking saying to a friend of mine that if Christianity was more like the cult of the Emperor I might consider going to Church. Now about a year later I see this and 1/3 bad for making that joke 1/3 disgusted and the last 1/3 positively mortified that something out of the Warhammer rulebook exists during my lifetime and people think like that.

[–]SuperDestructo 1 point2 points ago

Well the Imperial Cult is supposed to be a satire on Christianity (especially Catholicism) and you know how it is with satirizing religious fundamentalism...

[–]NiteShadeX2 0 points1 point ago

Hey, dont talk bad about the Ecclesiarchy. You have to remember in the WH40k universe the God Emperor of Mankind is literally for all intents and purposes A GOD. He led mankind, nearly singlehandedly, for thousands of years. For most of it they waged war on everything else non human.

After all the Emperor's deeds, and his infinite selfless sacrifices, it only makes sense to worship him so dutifully. It would be akin to Jesus coming back to life, leading a war on hell and space, leading the human government for thousands of years, then dying in battle with Satan himself. The WH40k Emperor isnt a character from an old book of stories, in universe he's a real being, with a physical body (albeit not much anymore) whose deeds and actions are etched in glorious detail onto every facet of humanity.

[–]A_Manslayer 0 points1 point ago

I am not hating on the Emperor or the Ecclesiarchy, I am a huge 40k fand and like the setting a lot and it certainly has more depth than people give it credit for.

I am just saying, that I find it alarming to see something in real life, that is like something out of the empire of man which is a mix of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Rome and the actual historical Inquisition plus some more cruelty.

[–]snakeseare 2 points3 points ago

Yes, Virginia, this is what fundies actually believe.

[–]DeadGuyKai 2 points3 points ago

They're just parroting what Martin Luther said. Christians have known that rational thought is their enemy for centuries.

[–]Samccx19 2 points3 points ago

Why do people Upvote this fake reposted bullshit?

[–]AngriestCosmonaut 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, and they had this sign up the next day.

[–]RandomGreatness 2 points3 points ago

What I liked about this was that it's totally original and nothing like it hasn't been posted here.

[–]Squirrel_Stew 0 points1 point ago

I just don't know what to say...

[–]jed654 1 point2 points ago

Many Christians talk about Satan well past the point of worship.

[–]Kantham 1 point2 points ago

Someone should make a list of all the Bible quotes they go against on a daily basis.

[–]elbruce 1 point2 points ago

I suspect that they can't fathom the concept of not being a slave to something. Thus, if you aren't enslaved by religion, you must be enslaved by something else. The notion of freedom is beyond them entirely.

[–]BuddhaLennon 0 points1 point ago

"it might be the devil, or it might be the lord, but you're gonna hafta serve somebody"

[–]JeffMo 1 point2 points ago

Stop asking questions, and get back to work.

[–]Thegreat2z 0 points1 point ago

bullshit. If you really want to go there, if God wanted us to be robot drones, He wouldn't have given us free will to make our own decisions. So, that being said... fuck them.

[–]MegaDed2897 0 points1 point ago

A blind believer is a slave to more earthly Satans.

[–]Pagie7 0 points1 point ago

I have seen this SO many times...

[–]spaceguy89 0 points1 point ago

Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb!!!!

[–]billofbong0 0 points1 point ago

Screw gravity!

[–]Capercaillie 0 points1 point ago

One of these days, I expect to see a church sign that says, "Blah, blah, Jesus, blah, blah." And it'd make just about as much sense as this one does.

[–]grand_theft_otto 0 points1 point ago

As Americans, given the freedom to think, does that not make all of us Satan's slaves?

[–]honglath 0 points1 point ago

I can see how one would reach this conclusion.

From what i remember, the fallen angel took the form of a snake and successfully tempted the human pair to bite from a fruit from the Tree of Wisdom. Because of this, they were sent to Earth and kind of left for dead. Don't know when it was said, but apparently, to get back into heaven, their offsprings needed to reach a likening to God, as it was before the betrayal. Details on how to do this were not given. Generations later, humans decided one of two ways could allow this:

1 - become brain-dead.

2 - continue garnering knowledge hoping that one day them or their descendants will find a way back through learning.

The two have mixed & matched since then and gave birth to new beliefs, but have generally stayed the same.

Which one makes you Satan's slave and which one brings you closer to God, no one really knows, but the war between them sure as hell ain't helping with the latter.

[–]refreakz 0 points1 point ago

I feel like you all post this shit at least once a week; to piss me off.

[–]undersc0re97 0 points1 point ago

Ha. I used to go to an A of G.

[–]zodar 0 points1 point ago

Well then...hail, Satan.

[–]animuslupus 0 points1 point ago

"Don't be Satan's slave, be God's slave! Do everything as He says and probably still don't end up in Heaven! Be a Christian now!"

[–]ExSeaD 0 points1 point ago

At least they're being honest.

[–]t-t-tooey 0 points1 point ago

at least they're being upfront about the fact that they don't want you to think for yourself? baby steps.

[–]spraynprayzorz 0 points1 point ago

Stayed the night at a friend's house and ended up having to go with him and his parents to church. An Assembly of God it twas. I never stepped foot in his house again over the fear I might have to re-enter that horrible horrible place.

REPOST

[–]KGrimesF08 0 points1 point ago

Classic.

[–]rdotytwo 0 points1 point ago

This can't be real

[–]BuddhaLennon 0 points1 point ago

Yup. This shit is real. "Free thinker" is an epithet among some literalist sects akin to "liberal," "race traitor," and "college-educated" among certain classes of humans. The bible tells you what's right and wrong, and how to think about the world. Why would someone go off and think on their own, except under the influence of Satan? After all, this is Satan, also known as lucifer, the bringer of light, the one who brought humanity to the knowledge of good and evil.

[–]topchief1 0 points1 point ago

t least they are willing to admit it.

[–]Owlsrule12 0 points1 point ago

This is fake, an old repost, and just generally irritates me. Why the upvotes?

[–]Hanflander 0 points1 point ago

An enslaved thinker is God's... oh, wait...

[–]elwoodguer 0 points1 point ago

A free thinking is NO ONE's slave.

[–]Cyl1d3 0 points1 point ago

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe that they are free, dear christians.

[–]Menolith 0 points1 point ago

Yet we can be seen.
