Everything about the past. It's actually a pretty good question. Imagine the wealth of information that was lost at the library of Alexandria. On the other hand, being able to predict which stocks to buy would make a person fabulously wealthy...

Not really - the majority of ancient texts are fragmented or only known of due to references about them in other ancient texts. A book that could reveal the entirety of the past would be the single most valuable thing on the planet.

Textbooks don't say absolutely everything about the past. Besides, what the stuff written in them are lies created by the government. You never know.
