I was watching the 10,000m in a restaurant. Towards the final lap the guy in the booth behind us stands up and screams "Holy fuck, where did that white guy come from?!" Then they realized he was American and everyone started cheering.

I was working behind a bar at the time of the race and when Farrah entered that final stretch in the lead, the entire place just completely erupted. Never seen a reaction like that before, not even for major footballing games.
