Where am I? What's a Vertical? What isn't?

r/Vertical is a subreddit dedicated to the posting of vertical comics. Verticals are images composed of a set of frames displayed vertically with captions overlaid onto each of them. The final frame usually delivers a punchline. They are usually taken from popular scenes in films or events. Vertical comics contain continuity and are not simply memes stacked one on top of another. Still confused?

What can I do here?

  • Subscribe to the subreddit, so that entries appear on your frontpage.
  • Submit a vertical you've found on reddit or anywhere else on the interwebs.
  • Submit a vertical you've made yourself using tools like QuickMeme, but please don't post non-verticals from QM.
  • Read what's new and be the first to judge new content.

And thus, he at last realized the cause of his catastrophic hair-dye chemistry experiment.

[–]klinonx 8 points9 points ago

That's physics. Close.

[–]rhenley 12 points13 points ago

Well, it's quantum physics, and chemistry is directly derived from quantum physics, so...I'm gonna call this one close enough for the sake of the joke.

[–]Atersed 2 points3 points ago

Everything's ultimately a derivative of quantum physics.

[–]sumebrius 3 points4 points ago

You're still one level of abstraction short. Relevant xkcd.

/nottryingtobeadick That's not at all what I was getting at. The FIELD of chemistry was derived from knowledge obtained in the FIELD of quantum physics. What you said is true, but it totally missed the point of what I was saying. /nottryingtobeadick

Do I not get this joke beacause theres some sort of math/science reference in it, and I'm to stupid?

[–]guitarfrk 24 points25 points ago

yes

[–]Galebaby 5 points6 points ago

I need you to explain this to me like I'm five.

[–]SkySilver 4 points5 points ago

Can you explain it to us humans of lesser intelligence?

[–]Vladamar 9 points10 points ago

Eh, been awhile but it just looks like a derivation of the Schrödinger equation.

Which really isn't funny, I suppose.

[–]hjostrander 3 points4 points ago

The cat in a box or something else?

[–]tehnomad 5 points6 points ago

It's the derivation for the Schordinger Equation

[–]MrLaughter 4 points5 points ago

Too stupid

[–]MrLaughter 3 points4 points ago

I know this is physics, but suspend disbelief and imagine it's magic!

When I saw these equations I immediately thought of Weird Al Yankovic's White and Nerdy.

what the fuck? Why would people upvote this? Since 0.001% of people get this

[–]GLneo -1 points0 points ago

To look smart to themselves.
